Hi David.
I always think that flux is like point motors, every single person has their own preference! This is the one I have been using for years....
Never had a problem with fumes, corrosion, etc. Its a paste so it stays where I want it to.

Hi David.
I am trying out the new etched chairs from the association (1-145 to 1-148) so combined with using solder sparingly and giving them a good scrub with a fibre brush afterwards, I am not doing anything special really. Is there anything specific you are having trouble with?
Julia.
Thanks Don.
Correct, its not gapped yet. I thought for this one it had to be switched so might as well add a switch blade. I still haven't a clue what direction I am going regarding electrics though (spologies for not replying to your PM)

Hi.
How do you guys normally attach cylinders onto the chassis of a steam engine? Once they are attached they seem to make removing some of the wheels impossible without removing the cylinders?
Thanks.
J.
Hello All.
Here is a nice Sunday morning brain teaser for you all!
Do the checkrails look OK (I know some aren't bent at the ends) and where would the gaps in the rails and sleepers need to be on this one?
J.
Hi John.
If you get stuck I could make some for you, there are plenty of people with 3D printers more than capable for doing them too if you have a drawing to work too.
Julia.
Thanks guys.
I was just trying to think outside of the 'CT box' and wonder if there was any alternatives that might not have been considered (hence the radio control comment). I recently saw a youtube video of a guy adding radio control gear to a 4mm scale (ish) car and the control components were tiny! I just wondered if the same could be applied to DCC ? Is a CT chip the smallest of the small or is it just the 'default' choice for 2mm modellers?
Julia.
HI.
A question for all the DCC fans.
What is the smallest DCC chip available currently? Im thinking non-commercial and/or DIY products as well as the usual sources. Maybe radio control chips are smaller? I don't know....
Thanks
Julia.
Hi Valentin.
I am using the association NG sleepers for the purely NG track using the code 30 rail. I don't know what size they are meant to replicate, sorry. I do trim the length of them though. That reminds me that i need to make a track jig to suit...
Julia.
Thank you Don.
It is code 40 track (with the etched chairs). It does mean I will need to work out how to transition from code 40 to code 30 at some point though.
