  1. The other two locomotives in action were 34053 'Sir Keith Park' and 2890 'Douglas' which are shown below.
  2. I went to the Spa Valley Scottish Steam-up yesterday and an excellent day it was with an imaginative timetable which until the evening ran very well. The day featured two four coach trains with engine swaps at both ends of the line making it possible to enjoy haulage from all four locos including double heading. For the evening the two sets of coaches were formed into an eight coach train and the shunt took longer than planned but did not spoil the entertainment. 828 from the the Strathspey Railway is going to be at the railway until late autumn. 419 from the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway will be in action again next weekend with 828. 3. I also regarded it as a stock car track. Too many of those in London that no longer exist. I was lucky enough to see both BriSCA and Spedeworth racing there. My father had seen speedway there before I was born.

    On Cats

Tickle his/her tummy and you will soon find out that there is nothing broken except for the skin on your hand!
  5. What you really mean is that the 'question' is inspired by the Hornby threads!
  6. System is working well on my phone so whatever you have done appears to have been successful. Many thanks.
  7. Virgin West Coast from Birmingham New Street to Euston had guards and first class with free snacks and tea/coffee. South West Trains and now South Western Railway have guards and first class between Clapham Junction and Alton.
  8. Coming home from volunteering on both the Severn Valley and the Mid Hants Railways I have been invited to use first class by the guard.
  9. You are supposed to be on holiday so go and relax somewhere away from this site. It will still be here when you get back from holiday and then you can sort it out as you always have over the past ....... years using the skills you and the qualified software people have. Meanwhile, enjoy your holiday.
  10. And seats in trains had cushioning that you sank into!
  11. Did you pick that up on your trip to the Isle of Man a few years ago?
  12. @AY Mod enjoy your week off. With no RMweb the amount of modelling will increase tremendously so there is always a silver lining to every dark cloud.
  13. Details, details, details!
  14. Cover says March but inside says Spring so just a mistake the cover!
  15. Another set of wonderful photos. Many thanks for all your hard work posting each day for our enjoyment.
  16. I remember working for London Underground on the day the Underground was bombed (7/7). 98% of the passengers accepted why we had no trains and thanked me for the help I gave them in getting to their destination. Sadly, there were the inevitable few who thought their journey was more important than the safety of everyone else! Best one got very annoyed that trains were not running through the bombed area as we should have alternative arrangements available for situations like this!
  17. Please let us in on the secret of where it came from and where it is now!
  18. The first edition was published in 1994 but I do not have a copy of it. I do have the 2nd (2002), 3rd (2008) and 4th (2019) editions. I have trying to get hold of the 1st edition but have failed so far. Good luck with finding one.
  19. The good news is that I have checked the bogie and I can get the razor saw between the foot steps and the front of the bogie to make the cut without removing the bogie from the model. The clearance on the Chicago and North Western SW600 is very tight so I do that last after I have had practice on the three easier locos. The bad news is that the earliest I will have time to do the work is either Saturday or next Tuesday as we have theatre tickets for tonight, Friday and Monday and I am going to Aldershot for Superstox, 2L Hot Rods, Ninja Karts and Bangers. One has to get one's priorities right and Superstox come first for me!
  20. Well the rest of the evening has been a total loss due to my wife getting problems with an Afghan she is crocheting. Looking on the bright side at least I haven't messed anything up more than it was and tomorrow is another day.
  21. Well I have found that if I put the draft box for the coupling on top of the coupler mounting then the bogie is jammed in place and won't move! So the only solution is to do what you have suggested. Now I have to work out how to get the bogies on the UP loco out to allow me to cut the coupler mountings. Yesterday I failed to find the correct method but I am sure if I think about it or someone gives me a hint the job will prove to be a lot easier than it appeared yesterday! The alternative is to cut them while in place which I fear will prove very difficult.
