  1. Depends on whether you wear leather or plastic shoes! Chris
  2. I find it interesting that they classify a book on British Railways signalling as follows:- CATEGORY : History > General History > Military History > General AAS I did not know that all railways were under the military!!!! Chris
  3. Reported to eBay as it cannot be UNOPENED if they have renamed and renumbered the locomotive. Chris
  4. It ended all right but checking it was not sold. On the completed items listing it shows in red which means not sold! I think the seller may have got the message. Best offer was for £87 and that was declined. So no one silly enough to be parted from their money. Chris
  5. I would agree that the find a member function will find his name but if you go to the details to check his feedback or whatever it says "No longer a registered user" which to my mind says he is no longer on eBay although they still show a record that this user name has been used in the past!
  6. That is interesting because when I went on eBay this morning and clicked on his profile it said he was no longer a registered user and I have checked again now and it still says that! Chris
  7. I sent the following question:- Many thanks for your reply. Could you now answer the question - What Scale is this item and what Gauge? Many thanks. And I now have a reply:- honby bulitin britain 12v intercity Which gives us a good idea that it might be a 4mm scale model for OO gauge, but we have to make an educated guess as he can't answer a question to save his life. In fact the English is on a par with some Far Eastern stuff I have seen. Chris
  8. I have the reply on what scale fresh gauge is!!! "wat i mean is that the intercity train is fresh that mean thatr it works and nothing missioning from its sorry if i have mess up your mind" So that tells me all I need to know. The descriptions and answers that I have seen from this seller remind me of some that I have seen from the Far East. Some Far Eastern suppliers are VERY GOOD but a few are downright fraudulant and the replies here seem to be getting close to the latter. I would avouid this seller at all costs! I have now written to him again and asked him what scale and gauge the item is. Don't hold your breath for any useful reply. Chris
  9. Now if Andy was to invest some of the funds the forum has he could set us up as a ROSCO and we could make millions for the site!!!!! Chris
  10. Has anyone else ever heard of fresh gauge? I have sent the seller a question to find out what scale fresh gauge is and I think it should be interesting to see what the reply is. Chris
  11. It shows as "Reserve Not Met" which means it is a minimum of £50 to buy the set as ebay will not allow a reserve under £50 as far as I know. I think I will pass on this one thank you! Chris
  12. Today I received an e-mail from ebay saying that their previous replies had been misleading and that they have the name of the seller! They have given me his name and e-mail address and they have sent him the same information on me. I thought if I told them to close the account they might suddenly find they had the information they were claiming they did not have and I have been proved right. Account still open. Chris
  13. I was contacted by ebay a few days ago to say they had removed an item from sale that contravened their policies that I had bid on and I should contact the seller if this caused a problem! I wrote back asking why as it was a carriage key which they had a number of others on sale and asking for the sellers name so I could as suggested contact them. I have now been informed by ebay that as they have deleted the item they have no record of the seller!!!!!!! I have therefore written back and told them to close my account and cancel all outstanding bids as I do not believe them! If that is the way they conduct business then they can go play somewhere else. Chris
  14. This must be the special Trix Twin version as it claims to run on AC Electric! Glad it comes Pre-Assembled. Would have been nice to see the model not just the box! Chris
  15. Shame he can't get the front wheels of the bogie on the track. RAIB look like they have another job!!! Chris
  16. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/electric-thomas-and-bill-train-set-/330429982946?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item4cef2968e2#shId This one has Collection in Person and they want to charge you £9.50 for it!!!! Chris
  17. The good news is that they got no bids and had to pay for a starting price of £19.99 LOL Chris
  18. If Smoking is so bad for us, how comes it cures Kippers! Chris
  19. Going back to what the visitors to preserved railways want/expect. I work on the Mid Hants and although we don't have a real diesel following we do use the DMU a lot. I have noticed that more people want to ride in it than used to be the case, with many of them saying that they used to travel to school in similar units. Some of the small children don't like the steam engines and can upset dad or granddad by wanting to ride behind the diesel when we have had a steam failure. As a five year old I hated diesels with a passion but now fifty years later I enjoy my days as Conductor Guard on the DMU. Funny how time changes your views! Chris
