That’s the best photograph yet of the viaduct itself. I’m looking forward to the naming ceremony when the plaque will be unveiled by a local dignitary. Will the GWR local general manager turn up? No doubt it will feature in the Encombe gazette.

I've always been rather taken by the American downhome phrase:
"Couldn't find his own bee-hind with both hands and a flashlight...."
Evidence of the obesity crisis in the USA.

Get well soon, Rob - it doesn’t last long and I hope it doesn’t shut Miss RRH’s hospital wards down too !

A new wagon has appeared in the LM roster.
A Parkside Beetle prize cattle wagon no less
This is an early one 1909 to diagram W7 but I noticed in from my GWR wagon book and a photo from Warwickshire Railways website that some of these had hand and grab rails so whether totally correct or not mine now does.
One set of steps as well so I removed the other side that was moulded from the ends, some mention of a water tank lid but can't find any pictures of that so left off for now.
The other one I made earlier is the 1927 version and that seems to have just grab rails (in one picture it has lamp irons as well???)
Here is is sitting in the bay siding poising for a picture
A cow friend of mine always gets excited when she sees a Beetle go by because it usually brings a bull. She says it ought to have 1st class markings, like the humans’ best coaches.

I wonder if the footpath to the gated crossing goes anywhere - or is it used by the pigs to watch the trains go by?

And there was me thinking it only had a roof vent on one side.
There Is just one for the non-mooing end.

Hi Callum
Thank you very much, you are very welcome and I am really ever so pleased that the book was helpful to you.
You have created a terrific model and hopefully the super new kit from Peco and your article is going to result in multiple models of Titfield and the Camerton branch being created and enjoyed..
I built a model of Monkton Combe/Titfield inside Limpley Stoke station late in the last Century, my friend Dave made a beautiful job of the station building, modelled in its "Railway" state.
I ran all sorts of things along the line, my favourite was my Lima 47 and a rake of Airfix Mk 2d coaches - brilliant!! Here is the station seen on its "last day" celebrations, with a last load of coal from Camerton colliery coming through behind Radstock's 47316.
As someone here or on another thread observed, the roof on the actual building(s) was originally red, being diagonally laid with "Eternit" asbestos tiles, but Limpley Stoke for one was "Turnerised" some years after construction, which gave a grey to black plus weathering moss etc finish. This was a sort of pitch impregnated hessian type covering.
Simon
I have been slowly making a model of Limpley Stoke station. For the roof I found that the Scalescenes Fire Station download had a good representation of the Eternit red tiles - complete with moss patches.
Having seen this new kit and its potential I will start again !- 1

Handy to have a Taxi outside, lets hope its still there when we want to go home :-)
(Although of course in the 30's we would be walking) Different times.
True, but those who drove there in their car would happily drive home, but not all would make it.

Has somebody done an unboxing the box video yet? It looks really heavy so it must be good !

I am wondering if the Modelu crew will arrive before their loco : if they do they can do some training on my 40 yr old Mainline Manor then they will certainly notice the updated version when it arrives! Chances are still that it will arrive on the same day as the steam railmotor from Kernow !,

Nice jumpers !
Pity the windows are not much better than the Airfix B set though they may look better when the droplights are painted on .

We were led to believe the Manors would arrive at the same time -perhaps your photo shoot could depict both !

Thank you for the exploded view of the Manor tender - so many separate parts !
It looks as though thr NEM pocket for the rear coupling is adjustable for length and is even removable.. I shall be using a hunt elite coupling on mine - away with those pesky hooked projections !- 2

According to the findings from the James Webb Telescope time does not exist…. So perhaps you can travel faster than light and arrive on the previous night.
