Great to see normal passenger service resumed.
Mr Warburton is grateful for the smoke deflectors under the footbridge so he won't be getting his suit smutty.

After that ugly American thing recently featured on this site it's wonderful to see a magnificent view of the west country- it's almost as good as Brent but the scenery is not as realistic.
You will need blinds in your studio .........

Thanks to renumbering of posts following the removal of the unwanted post #460 is the welcome response to it!!Well said matey. I would have suggested that #460 was a really rude post, was unnecessary and had no place in this discussion, however I didn't get the chance to do that and so missed my opportunity.

Can I see Openreach broadband cabinets in the first photo ? I'll have a word with continuity......

Those of you who like a laugh might enjoy these photos of the layout taken seven years ago.
How things have moved on....
There's much more of a Nod these days...

Class 50?I think you will find they are man bags from my improved engine green range. Not every locomotive has a bag named after it.

Here in Somerset our Maypoles are much smaller and less scary........

...wondering whether I can run Maunsell rebuilt LSWR coaches through Limpley Stoke without invoking Rule 1.....

You need to revisit whilst the light is good.
I thought the lych gate was there to hid that enormous sink hole.....

'The most popular flake of all'

Why are the men carrying the handbags ? -- it's too early for feminism. Perhaps they are carrying all the paraphernalia required for pipe smoking. Remember the most popular of all?

Yes, that word is allowed.
Absolutely

Fabulous pics- but I was a bit worried that all that smoke would make your newly painted footbridge dirty.

Totally OT which is the joy of such sites and its taken me this long to really understand how I was educated! Won't mention when I took the exam but it was during the Festival of Britain which was the first time I had seen a BR Standard, to bring this back to trains.
Brian.
Ah yes, I remember the cab of a Britannia on show... and Emet's wonderfully whimsical mobile sculptures: luckily a few years before my exam so I was able to enjoy the experience.

Well it is Kingsbridge fair week...
TOUGHEST STONE ON RECORD- the wagon says: is that Keith Richard on board? he seems to be in the right skin.....

Exquisite paint job on such a perfect footbridge- the scene is now complete. Mr Warburton ,however, seems unmoved !!

Crikey. I took mine in 1959!
1956 me, but I'm still only 50 at heart!

Mr Warburton has said, thanks to the new footbridge, the terrible smell has gone. Could he be an inspector from the Ministry of Health ?
-
I don't know why Mr Warburton is still staring at those lupins when he could easily pop over the new bridge to have a closer look!

Some GW scenes not that far from Brent, taken yesterday:
The pagoda appears to be a good deal pinker than the usual GWR stone on the main station building : is that a trick of the light/ camera? I do hope Rob's long awaited footbridge doesn't end up so pink - a quiet word with the painters and decorators might be needed.

A brand new set of Ultrascale wheels being turned up:

The frosted glass on the footbridge will hide any hanky-panky from 'Brief Encounter 2' from the ever-present RobCam

What a stunning picture comparing the model to the original : I think the model looks better!

Many lights make hands work....... I think the new lights are an improvement- wonderfully crisp and well lit pictures. Now where is Mr Snow? After my lighting stand packed up I had to get another to supplement my lights for photos.I bought one specific to hobby use and although not as tall as the one before has added flexibility to its use.
Here are some shots of 4582 again.

Having now read the article and seen the delicious photo of Mr Dudley -Cooke's Kingstorre in MRJ , I've decided to give up.
No way!!
I'd much rather go train spotting in 1947 Brent than Channel 4 now!

What a magnificent model- I can't wait to lean over the edge at the top to get a lungful of proper Welsh coal smoke (but in 1947 watch out for the oil-burners!)Anyway, with Andy's BRM photo shoot coming up I'd better make a start on painting this item of craftsmanship. Built by David Amias, it comes apart to aid my finishing of it.Watch this space.
A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

Are these pics taken from your new garden with a massive telephoto lens ? If so there won't be many little people painted for a while!
