  2. mornimg Neil liking the bridge always look good when well modeled.
  3. Whilst off at xmas decided to have a bit of a kit bash with a Lima 60 body and see if i could smarten it up, and act as a dummy on a Hornby chassis without motor and spray up in Colas livery and heve a double headed unit. I had a bashed up Hornby body so managd to save some side grills and roof silencer, also was kindly donated some shawplan grilles and other bits from my good freind Engine lane for a conversion on a Lima 60 so i got started and have done the following. Split the Hornby silemcer in half to fit on the Lima roof ,cut out body sides to fit the side mesh grills etc.Aslo used plasticard for the frame sides behind the mesh. Fitted the white metal fan unit, added some Horndy horns - made up some new wipers by using left over Heljan and Vitrains bits - added front hand rails and rubbed down ready for primer - had to cut away on inside body buffer beam as the Lime 60 is about 2mm shorter than the Hornby body so that it will fit on the free running chassis. A few pics of the job so far, next stop spray shop.
  4. looks rather impressive Jamie when its all up,we look great when finished.
  5. who would that be ??? if you find him let me know lol.
  6. well its been a while folkes but been extremly busy with work and other things but finished the colas fleet one 60 has gone to its owner and the 37 in the background ust requires its two coats of satin, but they have turned out ok but the decals were a pig and godd job i had spares because they are not great.
  7. sounds like you will be busy you will have to send some pics my freind just applied the decals to the two 60's and will be having hteir forst satin coat tomorrow
  8. Hello John yes they are quite tricky and to be fare 2 out of 3 is usually a good score on these . i mask off using tamyia tapes and spray on the 60's 57's -47's but the 56's the grills cause leakage so use the fox transfer but i find its taken me some years to nearly get it right. soak not for long and hold firm one end and the transfer at the correct start point and gently ease away the backing - or you can hold firm and strech pull the decal accross the loco they are quite robust decals and quickly place it down run over with wet cotton bud and cut off excess with a blade - this i find the best result.
  9. ok trying to fit everything in this wek not sure if i will meet the deadline to get them ready for Leeds show but trying my best. Now need to do the small detials of putting all the handrails back on and painted, also pick out all the lmap brackets foot plates and fuel gauges etc. then on to gloss coat and decals. oh yes the main large grill on the 37 needs blacking out school boy forgot to mask this up will sort.
  10. had a issue with one 37 will have to re spray part section on yellow as the masking tape peeled some piant. but rest ok and now forthe black tops.
  11. got the ornage coat on now, while i have man flu ,bring on the black top next

  14. while the weather was good on sunday decided to try and get an extra line sorted for the curve boards which bring the loco's rouns from the fiddle yard for Troutons. The extra two lines will give extra capacity for contianer and scrap yard movements and free up the fiddle yard for more main line running.
