Lovely informative images and text as ever Dom, thank you,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Focalplane,
I thought the Jubilee wheelbase was 54ft 3.25in which makes me wonder why the wheels on the model seem very close to the ends of the track?
Kind regards,
Jock.

Beautiful workmanship as usual Baz - I have clear memories of the condition of these locos in the late fifties/early sixties and you've captured it really well. Used to stand on the platform at Kilmarnock then, spotting the 'Thames Clyde Express' which was very often headed by a Scot. Thanks for sharing the images with us my friend,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Mikkel,
Just read the lot - fantastic thank you. Exceptional modelling too!
Kind regards,
Jock.

Love the Jubilee, and fully agree with Mike about the scale. You will note my early encounter with 'Valiant' in my avatar!
Sounds like a busy year ahead, good luck!
Kind regards,
Jock.

Well done Knuckles,
I'd like to see a Caley 2F/3F 060 variety now!
Superb workmanship and as Tim said above, very best of luck with the venture, kind regards,
Jock.

Dom,
As I said over on ERs, thanks for the superb images of 'proper' locos!
Kind regards,
Jock.

That is an absolutely beautiful model of arguably one of Mr Stanier's best designs. You will probably guess from my avatar, that I'm a little biased! That is me (in the middle) on the footplate of 'Valiant' outside the shed at Hurlford where my dad was a driver! I believe I was around seven or eight at the time which puts it at 1954/5.
Thanks for sharing the image with us, and I heartily agree with Mikkel's words,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Superb workmanship wenlock- so many modellers overdo the static grass so that it looks like Boris Johnsons hair on a bad day. Yours is very convincing and I hope you don't mind me 'cribbing' your methods for the verges of a layout I'm planning. Thanks for sharing with us,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Great work as usual Baz!

For some bizarre reason, I'd lost touch with St Ruth having come across it many months ago! I apologise for this, but I'm really pleased to see this reminder of a layout that brings back so many Cornish memories, thank you. Glad to see you're still doing exhibitions and if you want my opinion, I find the 'doctored' pictures slightly clearer.
Kind regards,
Jock.

Like to see the photos when you get it sorted Julie!
Kind regards,
Jock.

The only drawback I can see is the possibility of dropping a loco or piece of stock down that stair-well. Perhaps a sort of safety net in place while operating?
Great workmanship so far!
Kind regards,
Jock.

Baz, lovely job as ever, such a pity that the shape of the dome lets it down, and for me, modelling the fifties, the 'capuchon' would have to go. We had several stabled at Hurlford 67B when I lived there in the fifties and the shed had one as their pet which always looked like new! Reminded me of lots of footplate rides on 2Ps, especially the run from Kilmarnock station after Saturday morning cinema, back to Barlieth halt next to Hurlford shed where my dad was a driver - very many thanks for bringing back the memories! I'd love a couple just like that for my projected model of the MPD!
Kind regards,
Jock.

Baz, they really are the dogs cojones - no other loco IMHO, exudes power in that way, as well as delivering it. I count myself incredibly lucky to have had a couple of footplate rides, with my father at the controls, when they were still being used in service! Thank you so much for sharing the images with us,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Ian,
That is fantastic intricate workmanship - afraid my hands and eyes struggle at the 4mm limit so there is no way I could ever emulate it, but I found it very inspirational, thank you,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Lovely images, thank you. Your evocation of PZ is truly beautiful,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Well deserved indeed, your blogs have been entertaining and informative all along, thank you,
Kind regards,
Jock.

Pete,
I'm sorry that I've lost touch over the last few months due to health issues so forgive a sudden rash of likes. It is now likely to be the spring before I do much beyond a few wagons and the like but I think the foam board idea is great as Hurlford MPD had walls at least 2ft thick which would have led to a heavy model, even at reduced scale length. Thanks for the inspiration,
Kind regards,
Jock.
-
Hope the hard work pays off, best of luck,
Jock.
-
Julia, I'm very sad that your feelings have brought you to this decision - the loss is ours but I wish you luck in the future and thank you for your inspiration in the past!
Kind regards,
Jock.

One of my favourite locos Barry,
Thanks,
Jock.

If you have an iPad, you can download various free apps which will turn your device into an electronic level

Thanks Andy,
A very well reasoned blog, which as I mentioned elsewhere, almost made me feel that I'd actually visited (important to me as you know because I am unable to attend such events due to illness!). As a show organiser yourself, any criticism you make is both useful and constructive, and I now look forward to seeing the images when you get time to load them! By the way, the '0' gauge Jubilee, 'Blake', was pictured by Mike on Dent Station and I fell in love with it! Shudder to think about a price though! Thank you for your efforts,
Kind regards,
Jock.
