  1. For completeness here is the right hand board awaiting the next steps.

  3. Is it a "SUPER RARE MODEL" though when there's AT LEAST one more of the same livery with wrong wheelsets? I for one would not take someone's money for a faulty item through eBay or anywhere else for that matter. I have been in contact with @RapidoCorbsas you will see and the warranty form has been filled in accordingly. When this fault has been rectified the loco in question will remain in my possession and see regular service.
  4. @RapidoCorbsThank you for the timely acknowledgment. I will fill in the warranty form immediately. Such a shame to see QC flaws on what it otherwise a superb subject and an equally good model. Kindest regards.
  5. Oh dear. After my post of sheer joy yesterday after fitting Alex with sound and stay alive my second 16" arrived this afternoon. This second one was ordered as Arthur, yet what arrived was Alex! I did quite like the idea of having a pair in matching red livery so I decided to unpack it for testing and approval, however it seems that some 16" Hunslets weren't built with a crank axle I know of a friend's Alex which has been fitted with not one crank axle but two.
  6. A VERY long overdue update with more detail to follow as soon as time allows... They have been many additions to the WPL&T fleet in this intervening period and more due to be transferred soon, the foreman (Mr Wrigley) and the loco crews do enjoy their variety of steeds - never knowing what they will be called upon to work with next. This keeps them on their toes which in turn nurtures safe practices (usually!) There has also been an increase in wagon types that are seen at the works. It seems that the Shelby Group are very happy with the income from their limestone speculation as there is still a high rate of investment going on within WPL&T or is it just a way of nefarious activities being shrouded in such a venture in rural Derbyshire?
  7. I have just fitted my "Alex" with DCC sound and stay alive. I was very pleased to find that a decent speaker was chosen for factory fitting, and the running quality is EVEN BETTER than it is on DC - particularly at low speed - perfect for the work the prototype was built for. Well done Rapido. You have made a superb model and long may your industrial theme continue!
  8. Thanks chaps. CV 393 set to 64 has sorted it and the Loco now sounds as it should, very much appreciated.
  9. Evening all. I wonder if any of you good fellows can shed any light on a problem I have. The problem is this:- Zimo MS500 fitted into a Planet Industrials Victory, CV 267 set to value 255 gives a 'chuff rate' of seven per wheel revolution. I have tried altering CV 354 to 0 and 1, done a hard reset etc and all to no avail. This same rate occurs on two different sound projects- namely Paul Chetter's Peckett and Locoman 8f. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
  10. A question for @pauliebangerif I may. I am struggling to get a decent "chuff rate" for the victory and was wondering if you can offer an insight please? I am using a Zimo MS500 and CV 267 is set too the maximum value of 255 but this still gives a chuff rate of 7 per wheel revolution. And help/information gratefully received. P.S. well done to PI on their debut RTR loco release.
  11. The large 16” Manning Wardle was delivered back to White Peak Limestone and Tarmacadam yesterday after a time on loan to the Calder Vale Mineral Railway. Here she is seen having been offloaded the opposite way around to the other steam locomotives to even out the tyre wear, so the engine movers will have to keep their wits about them on the steep gradient down to the exchange, to avoid the firebox crown being uncovered and dropping a plug-or worse!
  12. Barclay 16” 0-4-0st “Lady Evelyn propels empty hoppers over the weighbridge prior to shunting them for loading, as Barclay 14” 0-4-0st demonstrates a new line of business for the Shelby Group subsidiary White Peak Limestone and Tarmacadam Ltd in the shape of specially selected large pieces of limestone for use in architecture and sculpture.
  13. White Peak’s attendance at the Middleton Railway this weekend is cancelled unfortunately due to the aforementioned repairs not going to plan despite @Rustons best efforts. Consequently major S&T works are now planned.
  14. WPL&T is due to attend the ‘pop-up’ exhibition at the Middleton Railway on the 18th and 19th of September subject to a pretty major repair and some well coordinated teamwork with @Rustongoing to plan! Please do come along and support this fantastic heritage railway and watch White Peak Limestone and Tarmacadam in action for its first outing under its new custodian.
