  1. Am I the only one in the world who prefered viewing desktop sites on mobile?

    1. toboldlygo

      toboldlygo

I do to - I hate mobile sites

    2. Claude_Dreyfus

      Claude_Dreyfus

I have been hunting for the 'view desktop' option on the mobile option. It would be a shame if that wasn't available.

    3. 57xx

      57xx

It probably won't be there, this looks to using Adaptive design, shrink the browser window on a PC worth mobile device size and the display of the content adjusts itself to mobile view.

  2. Christ...my companys overzealous web filtering system is blocking RMwebs "new content" stream as gambling.  And Im not allowed to petition it...

May be related to another post I have just seen and reported.....

  3. More and more using this new format, Im finding things just dont work.  Status update bar on the side doesnt work, topic listings dont give me the information needed (date started, how many posts, etc), continuously scrolling pages make browsing a hassle, and the layout is just unhelpful...its a real shame as Im now not finding a desire to come to RMweb anymore.

Status updates can be posted via the dropdown on the top bar, similar to old, but the sidebar is not active.

I hadnt noticed the post count on the far right.

Odd, as my latest status update was posted from the very point you claim to be inactive ....

Now you know why I haven't used a fibreglass brush for years.

  8. Amazon says tomorrow, USPS says today, and I say it should have been yesterday. How long does it take a box to ship half way across the state?

    1. Metr0Land

      Metr0Land

It probably has to go via their hub in Armpit,Nebraska

Your lucky Correios in Brazil take from 10 days to 4 months to get a packet from the SP to the north.

Now Thats a shipping time. So youll get it between when you want it and when you forgot you ordered it.

      muddys-blues

Ha ha, I bet that was spectacular ? Sorry I laughed but it took me back to my childhood, when we watched a friends of ours fly his petrol engined spitfire, it went up and round and then down, down, down bang, propellor first Into the field surface, smashed to smithereens, he almost cried and 5 or 6 us 10 & 11 year olds just gawped as it happened, and then laughed but said "that was greeeeeat Martin, do it again"

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

No its fine to laugh. I did too to be honest. It wasnt too labour intensive anyway. A week of my life and $20 from an amazon gift card. And I already have plans for another. Next one Id like to fit with full RC gear.

  11. And the mail service destroyed my package.

Yep. I ordered plasticcard from the UK, every single sheet damaged. The packaging looked to have been run over by a lorry multiple times.

    3. Barry Ten

      Barry Ten

There used to be a decent train section in one of the larger toy stores, but that went. There's Hobbyland at the end of the Vondelpark but even given my interest in Dutch stuff, I didn't find a huge amount there a year ago - friendly enough shop, though, but check opening times.

    4. Barry Ten

      Paris is much better, indeed.

Southeast doesnt stock the Jinty wheels and theres no way I can contact them to ask.

Mainly trains doesnt stock the jinty wheels either.

  15. Back at school and I already have plenty of time for modeling. Too bad I spend it all playing video games.

  16. Back on Amtrak heading home, an hour late boarding, and expecting more delays.

  17. Been doing a ton of work on an Airfix Spitfire. Need to get back to my trains.

  18. Building a layout is making me hate building a layout.

      Spitfire2865

Its currently forming a boil so no chance of infection yet. Though if it pops, Ill definately clean it, rub any and all burn cremes I can find on it, and bandage it up. Though it was a very minor burn to begin with.

    3. ozzyo

      ozzyo

It should not be a boil (a yellow filled zit) if it is get to a doctor PDQ. It should be a blister that is only filled with water, this normal. It will pop in a day of two and the skin under it will be a bit red but nothing to worry about.

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Sorry, yes Ozzyo, its just a blister. Got my words mixed up.

  20. Buys Ratio kits online. Next day Ehattons has some for cheaper. Well, now I have two on the way.

I ordered the coal traffic kit, then ehattons had it for a cheap price with only a damaged box.

    3. LNWR lives on

      LNWR lives on

Sounds good :) Dependant on the age might come with plastic wheels which id advise binning and get some metal ones and metal bearings in there, runs so much better that way

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

I know the one from hattons has gibsons as it was in the photo. Id assume PetersSpares would keep more new stock than old, so hoping for metal, but either way I have a small stockpile of wheels. Though I did just get rocking w iron etches, so im torn between using them on the Ratio kits, or using them to scratchbuild more random stuff. Any good Diagrams you recommend?

  21. Cant do anything on plane till I get dowels thursday. Well, since the microsol arrived, maybe Ill get back to the PO wagon.

ABS use them as handrail stanchions in their GWR shunters wagon. Very useful. Lovely things.

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

These are some big split pins though, bigger than any handrail knob in 4mm. Also I only got three of them. Kits from LRM for those curious.
