  1. I wonder where this topic will take us . . . . . . . . . .
  2. Fully understood. Every single aspect of something new has to tested and tested again. Just to be sure. And if the testing goes too well, you just have to repeat it in case it's a fluke.
  3. It could have been ignored at the time, quite easily, but now that it's in print we don't have that option. Your punishment will be severe.
  4. Are you sure that that sort of language is allowed here?
  5. I just love all this dirty talk! A train at a time? Good plan. Happy New Year, young man.
  6. St. Giles' really does look good, so well done! Nice to not see that Land Rover. Anticipating 2020s review . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  7. The trouble with reading an account that is 45 pages long is that by the time you reach the end you've forgotten how it all started. Speaking personally, that is. Seeing it summarised in (significantly) fewer pictures just highlights the enormous energy this project must have consumed. I used to think that I had mastered the everyday use of the English language, but my failure to describe adequately just how this project has inspired me just demonstrates how wrong I was. One question, Simon. Will there be a model of you standing on a fence somewhere?
  8. Try ringing Howes Models on 01865 848000. It's not listed on their website and that normally means it's not currently available, but they may have plans to make some more.
  9. I can't use burnt sienna. I'm not supposed to go near naked flames.
  10. I don't think that it is realistic, in this day and age, to expect something written more than 18 months ago to be either relevant or available any more, especially if it is about equipment and prices.
  11. A nice cup of coffee will never cause disappointment, decorated or not. I think you may have misread the course description for the Missenden event. The mention of grinding doesn't actually refer to coffee beans as mentioned in the previous sentence. It refers to the choice of methods used for removing excess solder in the following paragraph. Bad grammar, like the misuse of apostrophe's, can cause all sorts of confusion.
  12. With what, I wonder. The few words used to describe progress does not reflect the amount of time and effort needed to achieve it, that I know. Tremendous results, Tony, and an inspiration to all of us lesser mortals modellers.
  13. If you wish to stick to 34 then you cab depict passenger trains in the western section or passenger trains in the eastern section, and use BR Mk1 coaches from Bachmann or Hornby to compile your train. There are other combinations (many of them), but only you can decide which area you want to depict and, therefore, what trains you want to form. Do you have any preferences about the area you want to model?
  14. You'll just have to read the whole thread! It's all in there somewhere, but you'll need lots of spare time to find it . . . . . . . .
  15. A Merry Christmas to you, Simon, and thanks for your inspiration.
