  1. Definitely quirky, but interesting reading, nonetheless. Vote cast.
  2. There are many options open to you in the Modelu range, but you do have to be prepared to paint them. https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/finescale-figures/railway-and-lineside/1948-1968-rl/
  3. All that sweeping and not a broom to be seen. Or is there?
  4. I recommend High Level. Instructions are fantastic, all the bits fit and Chris Gibbons (proprietor) is probably the most helpful supplier in the business. You'll need to source wheels, but the kit will tell you which Alan Gibson ones to get. Have a look, as suggested by Steamport Southport.
  5. I know it won't help your current (sorry) predicament, but the newer bullhead rail points, called Unifrog, have done away with the need for connectivity reliant upon switch rail to stock rail contact. Your plea has already been answered! Season's greetings to you and yours.
  6. The trick with Railmatch jars is to keep the interface twixt jar rim and cap thread completely free of paint. Before you replace the cap, thoroughly clean the inside of the cap and the rim and thread of the glass jar so that you can see no trace whatsoever of paint, wet or dry. If you have some, apply a little Vaseline to the jar thread before replacing the cap, but this is not absolutely necessary. Saves time and hassle next time you come to use it.
  7. It's hands free. He doesn't need hands!
  8. I have been successfully using Ultimate Acrylic Thinners for Humbrol, Vallejo, AK Interactive, Lifecolor, Com-Art and Tamiya acrylic paints at weathering workshops for several years. I see no reason why they would not work with Railmatch, and I would think that Vallejo thinners would work with Railmatch paints as well. I haven't tried these last two combinations, so can't recommend them, but Ultimate is OK. https://www.umpretail.com/products/ultimate-airbrush-thinner
  9. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours, Kevin.
  10. All this just for a few tractors? I'm impressed by your never-ending modelling, Rich.
  11. Men at Arms. But you need to start at Colour of Magic and work your way through!
  12. Check the date on the photograph. It still looks like that now!
  13. Back in the days of Summer I had a go at a 1/43rd scale Ferguson TE20 - a Little Grey Fergie. I had found a couple of these, after much searching, and wanted to work on one and leave the other pristine, just to show how much of a difference could be made with just Dullcote, washes and pigments. Unfortunately I didn't do a particularly good job when using my smartphone to take the photographs! This will keep you going until January. https://www.flickr.com/photos/laughinglobster/48464090546/in/dateposted/ All the weathering gear has been set aside to make room for some work to be done on other things for several weeks. There will be a Ruston and an Experiment to come in the New Year, though. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
  14. This might not be a high-speed line, but it seems to me it's high-speed progress. Truly inspirational, Simon, and thank you for allowing us all to watch your progress..
  15. Always leave them wanting more. What will happen when the rain stops?
  16. It's the same stuff that your Pendon scenic workpiece is made of.
  17. First port of call would be Railtec. https://www.railtec-models.com/
  18. We need a 'cheering and clapping' button on this forum! In the meantime this will have to do:
  19. A piece of soft cloth dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Clean track, no scratches and no detritus at all.
