  1. Class 41 as in HSDT, yes Locomotion were doing it but very much doubt they will now. The 170 would be an ideal piece to retool, you can't even buy bachmanns example in DCC Ready format yet. Agree with the 153/155 comment; the bogies are the same as 156 bogies anyway so that part is tooled up ready. Hornbys 153 "Super Detail" 153 really doesn't look right to me from the front, and the bogie mounted plough could have been done better. Bachmann have been talking about a retooled 158 for years. How many years I can't remember, got to be about 8 or 9 surely.
  2. There's not really much which in my opinion would be viable for new tooling. Loco wise I think a lot has been covered in some form of high end detail, but ther3 are still a few classes yet to be modelled, at all. Class 41 for example. DMU wise the 170, 153/155,220/221 & 158 would tick boxes for a revamp, then other new classes yet to be modelled e.g. 171,172, 222, 180
  3. Will be along to this again; its only a few fields away from me so good excuse to get the boots out
  4. Looks like he'll be getting more then. Sold for £215+£5 post, so a loss to on top of the eBay + paypal fees.

    Dapol 'Western'

Regardless of who done what and why, I found it fascinating. I see tyre turning on real wheels regularly but on a model is epic to see done.
  6. Paid the balance ages ago, can't wait now I've seen those photos. Possibly the best reproduction of the barbie livery :-)
  7. Glad I'm not in your shoes Charlie!
  8. Pleased to hear 'Hastings' has found a new home. Any intention of restoring for passenger use or just a display piece as per ERM?
  9. Surpsied numbers haven't sank sooner - I stopped using trains in 2010. This is when I started learning to drive & i'm glad I did - had I not have done this, I would have gone bust as the fare for the journey I would have taken, for the whole week is now more than what I earn in that week!
  10. He's York based. I dropped by at his place earlier this year for other APT related business and saw his prototype kit all built up, looked superb.
  11. Some night time photography of some bridge elements being craned in... should be viewable to non-facebook users and/or non members of said facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/jondavies/
  12. http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/unify/ 'Crane assembly begins' is the headline, though I can confirm having driven through Loughborough today, the crane looks to be fully assembled.
  13. Whilst I got an email yesterday, I did not get confirmation of an order as it was done at York Show - do I actually have an order or not?
  14. I got the same email, I too only want a box set, not a box set and 2 individual locos. The emails fails to say how much they are thoigh, they were pre ordered on the basis of price to be announced, unless I've missed it somewhere.
  15. Certainly was. 22nd October is a planned Sulzer Day
  16. Copied from GCRN Facebook Page Due to (steam) loco failure, this Saturday (12th) will be diesel hauled with class 45 - 45060 (Sherwood Forester). Sunday (13th) will be diesel hauled with Class 33 - 33035 Timetable available here: http://gcrn.co.uk/timetables-prices/timetables/
  17. Rogue traders. Who'd have em? Purpose built railway room now has structual issues. £17k to repair. Bye bye railway lol

Trying to sort something via trading standards, but seems theres not a lot I can do. Currently taking legal advice which is adding to costs. I have cancelled all preorders except those which i've paid fully, but I think a long spell of no purchasing is now on the cards, whilst I think about what to do with the collection. I may look at setting something up in the loft at some point.

  18. Has anything been said about moving vehicles elsewhere or is it very much still up in the air? Painting looks good:-)
  19. There were 3 stands selling new stuff, the MRC and 2 other traders who said to have had double booked and disappeared on the Sunday to a toy / train fair somewhere. The MK1 RMB is currently out of action pending repairs, so unfortunately this issue graces all services using the vacuum coaching stock. The air braked set is unaffected. Glad you enjoyed the layouts, which is the most important part imho.
  20. Can anyone remember the kit maker who supplies in 4mm, most varients of MK2 coach?

Layouts are located in the main engineering shed, the bus garage and a visiting layout will be located in the "Ruddington Model Railway Club's" new layout room which is yet to house a permanent layout, and will be the first time the new extension has been used by the public. The 'Bridge to the Future' marketing side of GCR will also be present with their working layout and TV with bridge related content Service train wise, Prototype HST 41001 and Crompton 33035 will be operating on Saturday, with the resident 8F operating steam services on Sunday. All services this weekend depart Ruddington at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, and are formed of 4 coaches. Catering will be available onboard on Saturday only, serving hot and cold refreshments from the RFM / Buffet coach.
  22. Assuming MK3 Sleeper "Exec" were painted the same as MK3 day time stock, I took the liberaty of taking a ruler to a MK3 Exec today. As I don't have 3 hands, on the curved bodyside the tape measure is sticking out, therefore looks like i've overshot the measurement; it's accurate, just not flush against body side. I forgot to take a measurement from the top of the letters to the red stripe, if anyone wants me to take a measurement, say so as i'm with the coach again tomorrow. If anyone wants to scale the measurements down to 4mm
  23. It is with regret that due to illness, the 00 Gauge layout Camel Quay will no longer be exhibiting with us. A replacement was sourced, however in the last few minutes they have had to pull out due to a family concern. If anyone has a layout they could provide, please drop me a PM or email on kiele.baldwin@gcrn.co.uk Tickets are still available until midnight before each day of the show. If online sales are anything to go by, Sunday will be busy!
  24. Please see this thread http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/122712-ruddington-model-rail-show-29th-30th-july-2017/
