  1. Interesting, not sure how I made that obvious mistake! Heres hoping for a Regional version then!
  2. Really is hot stuff, has it's own facebook page and everything Have now changed it to what it should have been listed as.
  3. The provincial 156 will be getting the Central treatment from me when thats released in a few years time... https://www.flickr.com/photos/40172673@N03/13778775525/
  4. Just my oppinion / speculation / wibble (delete as appropiate), I would put money on it that they end up with XC, with the 170s cascaded elsewhere, Wales perhaps (couplings compatible with most of the pre-existing fleet) to help with the shortage, 4 coach voyagers replacing the 170s and the 222's ramping up seat availability on the core long distance routes. It's already confirmed the HST's are having the PRM Mods to enable post 2020 running. One thing that did cross my mind, if the EMT Fleet are to have bi-mode replacements, would this include the local fleet for replacement stock; in an ideal world it makes sense but we live in the UK afterall!
  5. Have sorted the photographs above, but in the process unable to display layouts that are visiting. In other news, I now have confirmation that Diesel loco 33035 will also be out running trains on the Saturday only. Tickets are available online as an e-ticket (print at home or mobile version) until midnight the night before the show, and will be availablle to purchase on the day or onboard the train if you are joining at Rushcliffe Halt. Carparking will be available free of charge. For those coming on public transport, On the Sunday you can now access us direct from Nottingham with the Nottingham City Transport 10C service which drops you off just around the corner from our entrance. Kinch bus from Loughborough Rail Station can drop you off at 'Ruddington Mere Way Business Park' and from there it is a short walk. (Nottingham bus). Please check on the relevant bus operators website for bus running information before travelling.
  6. Thanks for the hospitality, was a good day, I didn't quite manage to get all the questions in that I wanted answers to, though pleased to support another heritage museum / site. The new look bus (NA) samples looked nice. Oh and thanks for the mug!
  7. If you like watching concrete dry, so to speak
  8. Hoping to get across to see this having missed the 2 scans in Shildon - will you be bringing a Dash-8 Loco sample by chance? Weren't any at York show to see. Thanks.
  9. Sod the pantograph being automated, just make me a 92 please
  10. Whilst not a current user, the new distribution centre for Marks & Spencer in Castle Donington has it's own rail freight terminal, mainline connection etc. Don't think a train has been there yet, though there must be pipeline ideas ahead of them to include the facility.
  11. Final update of the list of Exhibitors and Traders for the show has just been done, which is just 3 weeks away. How time flys! Online booking is looking good, and tickets are available up to midnight the day before. Looks like theres an issue with the photobucket account displaying the show photos - i'll try to get this rectified soon.
  12. I was wondering if this could spell the end for customer-fit decoders if they start going down this route.
  13. Pleasing to see some new features for a Bachmann coach (Talking MK2 here), I note provision for Air Hoses, ETH Jumpers for a few. I can't see any communication chord butterflys though. Nice to see the brake block carriers in line with the tyre treads. Hoping the rivets and ferodo plates will be moulded into the gangway after seeing so much new detail on that end alone it'd just finish it off nicely. Bogies, i'm assuming the foot steps are still yet to be fitted on the samples, and nice to see saddle carriers have been incorporated into the tool. On the DBSO, the drivers door hasn't been outlined as a door; just a handle and a window. Hopefully the door posts etc will be rectified. Talking about doors generally, on each corner of the wrap around doors on each photo, on the gangway end, the edge of the door isn't outlined, looks like the door morphs into the coach body. Hopefully it is just an omission of the sample, but looks striking none the less. Maybe I'm just being sad here, the guttering downright in vehicle ends should be circular not square box.
  14. So sorry to hear that. Was the collection insured? I've been toying with the idea of a separate collection policy recently but been putting it off, now you've made me think more seriously. There don't appear to be any on EBay at the moment, they do pop up at shows though the only place I can think of who actually has them (for a price) is Olivias, but marked up as Hornby APT-E last time I looked.
  15. Contry to my last post about alignment, appears the machine must have been 'stored' out of alignment, giving the wrong impression. Today it was in a position where I'd expect it to be. Imagine this scene in a few years time. Edit: It's the Diesel gala next week (1st / 2nd July), 2 train service passing at Rushcliffe Halt, loco line up 33035, 41001, 45060, 47292, 47765, 47828, 56097, 73110. More info incl the Free Heritage Bus Shuttles and the Beer-Ex on the Saturday can be found here: http://gcrn.co.uk/events/2017-events/diesel-gala/

    Dapol 'Western'

Think western loco association have some. They do their own in house weathering, I bought one recently in pristine.
  17. Disappointed to learn the evening star box set volumes have been upped. What is the new figure? Only opted in when I was at York for its low figure. When will final payment be required? I haven't received any confirmation of the booking either. Thanks
  18. Really? When. Can't say I'm too surprised to be honest. I did think just under £10 for 3 slices of cake to be a bit on the expensive side. Such a shame was going to go over tomorrow. Saves me the trip anyway.
  19. The problem with 'that end' of Derby is there is no free parking available. TTC for example have free on-street parking outside, that end of Derby has nothing unless you fancy walking a mile or so. The only shop I used in that area was 'Baked' on The Strand - worth a visit if anyone likes chocolate brownies, but again it's an expensive outing just to get parked, so dont get chance to visit much these days.
  20. Whats the fee? Sent him an email with a question or two and he replied "I understand"... clearly not
  21. Their 220 Bogies. 221 bogies don't expose as much of the disk brakes. But now you mention super voyager... imagine the sight of a tilting 153! I wasn't sure weather to laugh or cry when I saw that listing. It was only the price which made me think... umm bargain. Maybe not!!
  22. Didn't realise Bachmann made a 153 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-OO-GAUGE-CENTRAL-TRAINS-52333-DIESEL-LOCOMOTIVE-UNBOXED-A8-/361961949604?hash=item54469d09a4:g:kk8AAOSwIWVY~hok
  23. Never really done that many rail miles, but the few diversions if I had to pick one as being strange, was the Derby-Skegness HST (Summer Saturday only, usually booked to call at Notts). Departed Derby, Called at Long Eaton as booked, then went south down the MML missing Nottingham in whole, through Melton Mowbray and into Peterborough, reversed to do a short high speed stint up the ECML then via another fangled route where I wasn't sure I was... think the journey took 3.5 hours total. On the return, it did the same route back to Peterborough, back via Melton Mowbray, believe it called at Leicester, then reversed back north, went over Toton high level and into Toton. Then reversed and went back to Derby.
  24. Photo of the bridge site as viewed from a GCRN train. You can get a better view from the front of the train though. Looks quite a sharp bend from this perspective but guess its angles playing on the eye. Model looks great Dave. Having the shuttle module will bring it to life and be more appealing imho
  25. Thanks for the info Sam. Should also state online booking now available at www.gcrn.co.uk
