  1. Southwark and District MRC have a part-built layout which is surplus to their requirements. Constructed mainly from plywood, there are five baseboards each roughly 4ft long by 3ft deep, forming the front of a curved layout which is suitable for development into either an end to end or roundy type formation. Track is code 75 including a turntable serving a loco depot. There is also a part developed station at the right hand end and some backscene has been started. Most of the boards have braced legs built into them which would reduce the bulk involved in transit to exhibitions. See pictures for more info. This project would suit a club with reasonable working and storage space. Offers would be appreciated and new owner would have to collect from south east London. Please contact Ray on 020 7732 9675 for further information.

  12. I suspect that Humbrol thinners is not the same formula as Precision. They smell different for a start. I would always use the brand from the maker of the paint. I have been told and believe it to be true that white spirit thins paint by breaking it down. It is not a thinners. A proper thinners is the same solution as the liquid element of the paint in which the pigment is suspended. Don't forget that there were old formula and new formula Humbrol paints and you should not use old formula thinners with new formula paint or vice versa. All the best Ray
  13. I think that Roxey Mouldings do or did a kit for the little steeple cab loco. Ray
  14. I recall that Phil Parker modelled that. All the best Ray
  15. When you say that the paint is not fully dry, did it eventually dry properly ? From experience with Phoenix paints, they can take quite a while to mix properly, maybe twenty minutes or more. Perhaps try mixing the paint again and test it on a piece of primed material and see if the colour changes to that on your wagon. The large tins are the worst, you can end up with arm ache by the time it is fully mixed and dries correctly. All the best Ray
  16. Bill Bedford does/did etched versions of the ones for the cabsides. Not sure if he did the ones that went on the bunkers or tenders which seem to recall on the Bachmann C class were square shaped. All the best Ray

  21. Don't forget that the code of the rail on the old steel rail will be coarser that the newer nickel silver. Ray
