Couldn't be arxxd looking at that 'money pit' of an auld A3 and I was just a couple of miles away at Ingliston, gently circumnavigating the race circuit in an Aston DB9 and a Jag F type, one word... WOW.

Oh, and a couple of 'hot laps' in an 'Atom' with an instructor driving, my eye balls are still shaking. ^^^^

  4. Hell’s bells! Hornby’s BR loco green is a truly lifeless and dismal thing. Even after gratuitous T-cutting!

Gadening time definitely drawing near - took herself out to buy some seeds today. All she needs to do now is dig the veg patch and get sowing.

      davefrk

And I thought you had a dug.

      Mad McCann

I have, but the dug has the courtesy to go away from the hoose to do her business...

  6. For all the excellence of Bachmann’s stuff, their electrically conductive, short axle LMS bogies are by far the most crap thing the Barwell boys have ever done.Sorry guys!

There all doing it now - even Oxford Rail (in anticipation of lighting that they didn't fit anyway) Mind you at least Bachmann get the wheel diameter and the underframe length correct.... :) The bogies would have worked okay if they had retained the close-coupling arrangement of the B4's but added in a rather "slack" end to the LMS bogies (P4/EM modellers mileage may vary) ;)

  7. Two more locos given FS bogie/pony wheels and the Sentinel returned to OO. Not a wasted evening then!

      Captain Kernow

Surely only 50% of them don't like Marmite, wouldn't it be logical to assume that the other 50% like it? As such, it is perhaps fortunate, that the 50% of hyenas that do like Marmite were either all out on a day trip on that occasion, or had moved to Benidorm for the Winter.

    4. davefrk

      davefrk

Hogmany TV was absolutely dire this year, I mean, Lorriane Kelly with guests like Andy Murray's mum? I ask you. Even repeats of Rikki Fultons show or 'Chewing the Fat' would be better than what was on this year. 'Only an Excuse' is no good if you don't follow fitba.

Just need to find a party to gatecrash next year....

Happy New Year to one and all.

I haunted Buch St after school in 65 and have many memories of A4s and Standard 5s setting off into the night under the semaphores.
