  1. Thanks Rob. That's a real treat and has cheered me up after another poor result. The time in which your railway is set, Argyle were a proper football team. Groan.
  2. Jim, let me know if you due through Donny anytime. I'll come and say hello. Quack
  3. I wonder if one )not a kit, a real one) will appear in a north east pub car park somewhere; possibly without bogies and has been used as a trash bin? Quack
  4. Looking VG Moz. I can visualise the rake of nine of these with a TD 9F. I have a video of the TD - Consett trains and the sound is really amazing. Wish I'd witnessed the climb but I only ever went to the old Consett Station. P EDIT 25/4/13 as I can't find the kit of this wagon I thought I had!
  5. Neat photoshop stuff mate. Lovely pic. Quack
  6. Slight change of 'track' here: Donny today was freight heaven (sort of). There is so much stuff through at the moment, far more than I had anticipated due to the 'diversions'. P @ 36E
  7. Donny for freight action - so busy during the 'diversions'.

  8. I wish that just once I had had the opportunity to sit under that canopy and listen to the noise as stuff went through; all that clanking/knocking gear sound - bootiful. Photo 1 - leaves me almost quackless, Absolutely wonderful. Quack
  9. Re WW v CC - don't bother identifying, just wait & listen to the songs! Quack
  10. Surely not Conisborough? (Apologies, Consisburgh). Edoit for speelin orf Conysberret. P
  11. Single Housemartin over back garden - few days earlier than usual and around 10 days earlier than last year. P
  12. Agreed. What excellent pics G. Wonderful atmosphere, especially 'under the canopy'. Q.
  13. Flora: (practising for the village panto) " Luv a duck Min, 'av a butchers at that bloomin' gold coach. Must be the King or summit. Oil be avin a word wif that fireman an all. Forgettin' lamps, he'll be forgettin' 'is flippin' shovel next". Minnie: " Oh Flora, I wish you wouldn't use that awful accent. It sounds like you come from that ghastly Portsmouth". (Sighs): "If only it were his majesty, he is such a handsome fellow..........". Signalman: "Calm down ladies, the Royal Train coaches are not available yet so it won't be coming through here for a while and that huge thing with the capped chimney - it was only an illusion caused by you breathing in fumes from those strange plants the Governor has planted on the platform". " Oh, must go, the Riviera is due". Q
  14. Pendon would be quite pleased to have one of your coach kit builds Rob. That H57 looks the business mate. As one of the 'Finchings' would say....."look at those lovely table settings, quite makes me want tea and scones dear". P
  15. 36E Swifts 2 Newhaven Neil Swifts 1 Loads of Chiff Chaffs at our local NR but so windy most stuff was grounded! As for the garden, only a female Reed warbler (ringed) has turned up a couple of times in the last two weeks to make some variety. I've also noticed a huge increase in the Crow and Jackdaw numbers this last year. P
  16. At last, a good game of footy on the telly......

  17. Saw two Swift this morning - Spring must be here.

    1. SHMD

The frogs have started migrating here.

Saw a swift here yesterday, thought I was hallucinating!

    3. NGT6 1315

      NGT6 1315

Shouldn't that be "RAF must be here"?

  18. Finching sisters, in unison on seeing Evening Star; " Good heavens my dear, that is a big one, however it is a very strange shape". Bulleids and T9s. Rob, I'm sure the SR had a route learning turn at least weekly in both directions but am happy to be corrected. Tigley Junction - excellent excuse for loco posing. Wally - I only caught the 4.05 I think it was, a couple of times as when it reached North Road it was almost as far away from home as School was! As for us Grammar chaps having an advantage, well we did get to pass DHS for Girls just after chucking out time if we got the 'School Special' (bus) but it was a complete hooligan bundle trying to get on the damn thing outside the school gates. Q
  19. Apologies for the delay in saying how much I enjoyed watching myself doing this turn. These pictures are of a very high standard. I love being admired and looking so clean. Peterborough is one of my favourite stations en route as I have to be driven slowly and so I can be noted by loads of adoring spotters. Not one shouts "scrap it"; excellent and they wouldn't would they as they are such a nice group of chaps. I was a little concerned about that flock of Crows though as I thought they were trying to poop on me again. However they were off target as I whistled at just the right moment. I also notice that the unfitted vans were showing true reverence to my stately passing. I quite like vans but these don't need pipes and so the 'C & W Foreman ' can rest easy. Oh, just a quick thanks also the the C & W Department for the condition of my coaches; they do look smart, as I do. Good afternoon and see you again soon as I shall be on a down working tomorrow, hopefully. Quackity quack.
  20. Very nice Rob. The 'milk' was a train I used to wait for beside the cutting at Mutley Tunnel before catching the bus home from Mutley Plain back in the good old days (59/60/61) Quack
  21. Much chat about this on Peterborough North. Maybe worth a look? Quack
  22. Ger off Rob, double chimneys are loverly. P
