  1. The toxic, farty stench from that Cart, would be drifting towards our lovely A5. You can see why I have never been asked to add Captions to someone's Book of Railway Pics. Phil
  2. The only simple things I can think of Gilbert is that backscene at the south end. Maybe con somebody into doing further Telegraph Poles for the Loco Servicing & Engineers' area. Is there any need to add a foldy up/down thingy to add more Midland side Sidings on which you can affix loads more duff Vans and Wagons, so they don't fall of when you foldy up for access? Apart from that then the Status Quo is fine, so rock on buddy. Philth.
  3. Snowdon ...has that been mentioned? It is a Service, it charges fares and serves a purpose. Phil
  4. Brilliant Richard. Don't bother with rear Coupling as Loco will always be on a Train and moving forward (says he hopefully!) It's going to look like a real U Boat when it's all Black! Phil
  5. Down Coaches: Branch Loco lurks in Goods Siding by Signal Box. Down arrives. 5 Off, Down departs with 5 for SJ. Branch Loco pops out moving west, reverses onto Coaches, reverses up the Down and over X Over to Up. Stops clear and and hurries forwards to Branch access and off the Up (I mean hurries) to the safety of the Branch area. Bobby at West end can see all this movement and checks clearance at east End with Shunter. Never saw it happen but have read somewhere how it happened. Check the Track Diagram to confirm this works. Cheers Phil
  6. Deffo check your wiring set up to the Decoder Socket first. I don't know how you check if trickery is flowing to it; some sort of Meter? Also as 34 says. Phil
  7. Glad you said that. I'd forgotten about mid 50s. Gilbert will need more Blood and Custard Coaches and early emblem Tenders! I suggest doing both! Play 1954/5, 1958 and 1961/2/or3 Geez that's a hell of lot more Engines required. Philth.
  8. Weird really that I have bought far too many Loco's, many brand new products, including Two Rapido, Pannier 16XX and Pannier 15XX and an Accurascale Manor. Maybe one or two of around 30 recent Purchases have had a couple of minor issues, possibly as they are new unused but been on a shelf for some time? None were the above 3. Even my Oxford rail radial was sweet, if a little toy like. Phil
  9. Gilbert, ref the Schedule etc. Did much change between 1958 and 1963? I understand certain Loco's and maybe some stock would have changed/gone. How about just upping the date to (say) 1960 to '62 ish? The layout remains the same? The timetable may have changed a bit? There will be different Engines? Proper Deltics? If you need another layout then Lincoln will call loudly methinks? Phil
  10. Excellent. Got Laptop problems Richard. Having to plug into TV to get a screen. Laptop Screen has died! Thus I shall be off line for a while as I can't type on the LT and look at the TV screen at the same time! Doh!. Thanks Phil
  11. With huge respect, could the Status Updates be separated from the PM facility. It's getting silly.

    Thanks.

I doubt it would be missed if it was removed.

It is also a What's on your mind feature in another choice that comes up!

I know it's petty, but recently someone slagged off Andy and it was on there for all to see. Andy doesn't need any more crap to deal with when he is monitoring me 24/7.

I suppose it means a change to the website but on Profiles the two need some sort of 'Warning Notice'.

Like; this one's Private and this (other) one is PUBLIC for all to see.

      Dungrange

Well if you type in the 'What's on your mind' box, it doesn't highlight that it's a public message (but one would assume that no-one thinks it's private), but if you go to someone else's feed to post a message to them, the box does clearly state that it's a public message, but it doesn't stop some people using it to post something that really should be private.  I think the problem is that it's the more obvious contact option and some people either don't read the word private, or alternatively they don't care.

  12. Classic look. Additional details noted. As it will be pretty dirty there's no real fuss about how you get the Black on! I'll be very happy to let it run around Basingstoke for as long as you wish. It won't need a Depot transfer for quite some time. All the best. Phil
  13. That's reassuring SE. I think I read that on the discussion thread about the Loco. Well done; great excuse. All the best, Phil
  14. Well it's ten years of Sloth like activity, interspersed with an occasional frantic burst of action. Unfortunately there have been few 'bursts' in recent history, however some things have been happening, but that is mostly adding Locomotives and/or Sorting things, including Chipping the damn things! I shall be posting some updates quite soon...yes, honestly! Phil
  15. What a Beast eh? Second Photo shows it's German Army. First World War era heritage (Dome). Looking brilliant Richard. Thank you. Phil
  16. View Advert Bachman C Class 0.6.0. Black 31579. Westinghouse Fittings. Late Emblem. New and unused, except for running in on a Rolling Road. DCC Ready. It has a little fault in that the left Cab Side is not sitting flush with the footplate. I don't know why and I'm not going to force it to fit. (see photo). Rectified Otherwise it is Mint, with all the Detailing Parts still in bags, Paperwork and a Perfect Box. Because of the now rectified minor fault I am asking only £70, with no postage charge for the UK, for this Loco. It will be sent Recorded Delivery. Any questions then please send me a PM. Phil Advertiser Mallard60022 Date 02/04/24 Price £70 Category OO / 4mm scale
  17. Good reminder there. However I'd suggest Enfys tries both methods, as the sanding actually makes the Roof look more like the covering material and a light weathering...IF done carefully of course. What I found was the Ventilators 'got in the way' of a regular sanding movement. Also the damn Water Tank Pipes. I'd not sand a Restaurant vehicle with all those extra Vents!
  18. Lovely. Greys are so difficult to get right and you have it off to a T. Subtle and even woody looking. Phil
  19. Could you live with slightly smaller Diameter Wheels? My crappy old Thompson Coaches sat too high in my mixed Trains for the Cleethorpes service at SOSJ. I replaced them with smaller ones (I think Both Hornby and Baccy are 14.5). I might have used 12.5s, but I can check if you wish? I don't think the Buffers 'dropped' though as the whole things sat high, including Frames. Yours is fine at Buffer level. You could try 14s? Phil
  20. Some decent stuff down the Lyme Branch in the Summer. Coaches (5) off/on one Main Line Expresses. Double headed Radials. Later there were Midland Micky Mouse tanks and Bog Carts. Plenty of References for Coaches on normal services. There is already a layout of Lyme but I've not seen one of Swanage. Phil
  21. If you decide to go Westish on the LSWR Main Line then do contact me. If you really go far west to that there Cornwall and or North Devon, then Chris Tooth is your contact, along with others of course. A good Branch for variety could be Swanage and a lot of it is still there of course. I know nothing of what happened Sarf of the River and east/south east of Salisbury. Phil
