  1. Thanks Dave, that's brilliant. Are we notified before the money/payments are taken or not? If you could just let me know how much the crowdfunder models are. Thank you very much in advance.
  2. Hi Dave, Thank you very much for letting me know. That's fine. Just let me know when you have got time. What is the payment plan/schedule for these 92s? Is it £50 per loco when pre-ordering and then the rest when the locos arrive? Or are the other payments made before the locos arrive? Thank you very much in advance.
  3. Thank you Dave for the answers to the questions. I really appreciate it. What are the prices for the OO Gauge Class 92s as the crowdfunder models available from the website? Also please could you confirm which are the crowdfunder OO Gauge Class 92s? Is it all of them that are listed on the pre-order/expression of interest page on the website? Or am I looking at the wrong page? Thank you very much in advance.
  4. That's true. The only reason I was wanting DCC Fitted is so that hopefully they would have been the same decoders fitted as what's going to be the Hattons batch. Although this isn't guaranteed anyway. Thinking about it because I need four function decoders to be able to operate consists on my new controller I might order them all as standard locos and then fit my own decoders to ensure that all of the functions work correctly. Thank you very much for pointing that out. Thanks Mick. I will email Dave through the website and see what he says. It would be nice to buy both of the Caledonian 92s at least. There's me saying that I don't model electric locos
  5. That's true. I suppose ultimately Bachmann knows what sells well and what doesn't. This is probably why certain locos are churned out for example Scottish 37s and 66s.
  6. Thank you for the reply. I really appreciate it. I'm just asking because some of the models on the DJ Models website are available as standard models and either DCC Fitted or DCC Sound Fitted. However no loco is available in all three versions as some are offered as DCC Fitted or DCC Sound Fitted for the second model. I suppose I can always fit my own DCC Decoders. It would have just been nice to not have to fit the decoders myself.
  7. Thank you both very much for the replies. I really appreciate it. I really shouldn't even be considering 92s at this moment in time what with Dapol 68s, Bachmann 37s and 70s and Hornby 56s but here I am Really tempted to buy both DB Schenker Red 92s and both Caledonian Sleeper Class 92s. That's £600 though DCC Fitted. Can I afford this? No. I need to have a quick think about how I can afford some of these. Really don't want to miss out especially considering that I have just seen the project and thread. Does anyone know the prices of the first batch which are been sold through DJ Models website? Do both batches (from DJ Models website and Hattons) come with Limited Edition certificates? Or is it only the first batch that come with them through DJ Models? Is there an option to have 92033 in Caledonian Sleeper livery as a DCC Fitted version through DJ Models? Or is it just either as a standard model or DCC Sound Fitted for this loco? I really appreciate the help and information. Thank you very much in advance.
  8. That's very true. Like you say the smallest batch size is 504 with others been 512 and 750. Considering that some of the above locos that I have suggested may not sell all of the batch. 47812 and 47815 are examples of this. Both 47s and good locos, that see regular use on the network but they haul units/passenger trains. The downfall to these two may be how many people have the appropriate passenger trains to run with them. I know that I haven't and they don't usually operate any freight trains which means it limits what people who are prototypical would run them with. On the other hand I'm sure the 37s in a variety of liveries would be a winner. You only have to look at the Rail Exclusive DRS & NB 47s that were sold in 2014/2015. The majority of these models were sold/spoken for before they were released/delivered. Likewise Bachmann have just announced three Class 20/3s. Two of which are in DRS livery whilst the third is in HNRC Orange livery, which previously had also been a DRS loco. Personally as has been mentioned before if tooling for 37606-37609 was upgraded and these locos produced it would also allow for 37038, 059 and 069 to be produced. These eight locos could be produced in a variety of liveries, giving everyone the option to acquire the ones they want and it would also allow for people to renumber the locos. 610 and 612 could even be produced if people renumbered them and ignored the minor differences. Just my opinion here and some may disagree but I honestly think that any DRS loco or ex DRS loco will sell well.
  9. Hi all, Firstly please excuse my ignorance. I have just seen this thread. Please could anyone help me to save me scrolling through 24 pages to try to answer these questions. 1. What is a crowdfunder? 2. What is the difference between a crowdfunder and a non crowdfunder. 3. Either way what impact does this have on the price of the Class 92s? 4. Caledonian sleeper livery wasn't included in the first batch of 92s on one of the previous pages but I have just clicked on the Hattons link and 92038 in Caledonian sleeper livery is advertised on there. Are just batch two been advertised and sold through Hattons? If not then what is the reason for this? 5. How do we pre-order these 92s? Do we pre-order batch one through the Dave Jones website and batch two through Hattons? Or is their another way? 6. Are all of the 92s from batch one and batch two due for delivery between January and March 2018? Or are their different delivery dates for each model? Thank you very much in advance.
  10. That's true and I see your point. I was going to buy a Colas 37421 to renumber to 219 but 219 has now been named Jonty Jarvis so I would rather have it as a Limited Edition than a renumber. I'm really pleased that DBC are applying small running numbers to the cabs of the 66s and having them on the sides in the middle as EWS did. It makes for such easier renumbering. I will happily renumber some of the above locos but I would just rather have them as a Limited Edition with a certificate if they were produced.
  11. An amended list of locos that I would like to see produced as Limited Editions in OO Gauge are: 37219 in Colas Rail livery named Jonty Jarvis 37254 in Colas Rail livery named Cardiff Canton with depot plaques 37403 in BR Large Logo livery named Isle Of Mull 37407 in BR Large Logo livery (which may be named when released from Derby) 37714 in RailFreight Metals livery named Cardiff Canton 47812 & 47815 in Blue with Rail Operations Group Lettering (these two have different noses and headlight clusters) 66055 & 66066 with names 66136 with London & China stickers applied 66528 in Freightliner Powerhaul livery and named 66619 in original Freightliner livery with G & W company branding and named 66743 & 66746 in Belmond Royal Scotsman livery 66849 & 66850 in Colas Rail livery and named It would also be nice to see some more original Freightliner 66s with names e.g 66506, 66526 and 66585. If tooling was upgraded for any Limited Editions it would be nice to see some 37s with the new noses and wipac lighting in a variety of liveries including DRS Compass, DRS Revised, DRS Basic, Europhoenix, BR Green as 37610 now wears and possibly HNRC Orange if 607 and 612 receive it.
  12. Will 37099 need a new engine? I know that 37421s engine has just been removed and replaced at Barrow Hill. Once repaired could 099 potentially have 421s old engine? Do you know where 421s new engine has come from? Possibly refurbished and removed from 37207? Thank you very much in advance.
  13. Glad you managed to get a photo of them. Yes it would be nice if you got 025 and 099 in the same photo. Especially considering that Colas only have these two and 057 as split box 37s so it isn't very often that the split box 37s are paired up. Hope you manage to get them.
  14. Hi all, I am looking to buy a Bachmann OO Gauge BR Large Logo 37025. I would like the Rails Of Sheffield Limited Edition model. I would also like the Limited Edition certificate please. Ideally I would like the loco to be brand new and unused but I will consider second hand. Please PM me if you have this loco and you are wanting to sell it. Thank you very much in advance. Kind Regards, Danny.
  15. Thank you for letting me know. That's a shame about 37099. I noticed on TOPS today that 37025 was working 0Z37 Derby RTC to Mossend. I didn't see that 37611 was with it but I knew that their must have been a loco failure for 025 and 611 to be dispatched from Derby. Hope 37099 is back out and about soon.
  16. Hi all, Welcome to my layout thread. A few members have suggested that I set up my own layout thread. The layout is OO Gauge and I have a variety of modern image locos and stock. Most of my locos are either Freightliner or DRS but I am hoping to expand to incorporate other FOCs diesels and other stock onto the layout. My previous layout was based on Leeds Midland Road Freightliner Depot but the new current layout is more based on Crewe Gresty Bridge DRS Depot. This is due to me now having significantly more DRS locos than Freightliner. This layout currently does not have a name although I do refer to the depot on it as Crewe Gresty Bridge DRS Depot. Firstly here is a loco fleet and stock list of what I currently have: DRS Compass 37402 (Limited Edition) DRS Compass 37405 (Standard Loco) DRS Compass 37409 (Model Rail Limited Edition) DRS Compass 37419 (Renumbered from a Standard 37405 model) DRS Compass 37425 (Renumbered from a standard 37405 model) DRS Compass 37602 (From R3Sprays as a respray which has the correct noses and working wipac lighting fitted) DRS Compass 37605 (From R3Sprays. This is a Limited Edition by R3Sprays and Olivia's Trains. Alike 602, this loco also has the correct noses and working wipac lighting fitted) DRS Compass 47501 (Respray from Olivia's Trains) DRS Northern Belle 47790 (Rail Exclusive Limited Edition twin pack which also included 47832) DRS Compass 47802 (Respray from Olivia's Trains) DRS Revised 47810 (Rail Exclusive Limited Edition) DRS Compass 47813 (Rail Exclusive Limited Edition) DRS Northern Belle 47832 (Rail Exclusive Limited Edition twin pack which also included 47790) DRS Compass 47853 (Rail Exclusive Limited Edition) DRS Compass 57011 (Standard loco) DRS Revised 57301 (Respray by CairnsRoadWorks) DRS Revised 57303 (Respray by CairnsRoadWorks) DRS Northern Belle 57305 (Respray by R3Sprays) DRS Revised 57306 (Respray by CairnsRoadWorks) DRS 20th Anniversary 57307 (Respray by R3Sprays) DRS Compass 57309 (Standard loco from R3Sprays) DRS Revised 57310 (Respray by (CairnsRoadWorks) DRS Northern Belle 57312 (Respray by R3Sprays) DB Schenker Red 60011 (Respray by Olivia's Trains) DRS Stobart Rail 66411 (Standard loco) DRS Compass 66412 (Standard loco) Freightliner Shanks 66522 (Limited Edition) Freightliner 66532 (Standard loco) Freightliner Bardon Aggregates 66623 (Limited Edition) Freightliner 66952 (Standard loco) Freightliner 70003 (Standard loco) Freightliner 70004 (Renumbered & Weathered) Freightliner 70006 (Standard loco) Freightliner 70010 (Renumbered & Weathered) Network Rail Yellow 97302 & 97304 (Special Edition twin pack by ViTrains) Wagons: 24 Dapol Network Rail Yellow IOAs 11 Dapol Network Rail Yellow JNAs 8 Dapol IKA Megafret Container Wagons 3 Bachmann FNA Nuclear Flasks Coaches: 6 DRS Compass MK2s (Resprays by 159220) 5 Hornby Northern Belle Coaches (Four MK2s and one MK3) I have a lot more locos, wagons and coaches to add to the above list in future. The reason I have not added it now above is because they are new, unused and still packed away and haven't been run on the layout yet. If I add these at a later stage to the thread, as and when they are added to the layout it will make things a lot more interesting. You will then be able to see over time the sort of direction that I am going with locos and stock and you will be able to see the purpose of me buying them and where they are going to fit in. Just to let everyone know I haven't and don't do any modelling on this layout. The reason being is mainly lack of time. The layout is mainly track, with locos, stock and buildings. I therefore appreciate that the layout looks sparse in terms of modelling and detail. However their are lots of fantastic layouts on this site and others that have a lot of modelling go on and that pay close attention to detail. This extent of modelling and detail is truly amazing and inspirational. Well done everyone! I hope that everyone likes and enjoys this thread. I will upload some pictures at some point when I have some free time. Thank you for looking and reading. Kind Regards, Danny.
  17. Brilliant photo! I have been waiting to see a photo of 608 and 611 since they have been repainted into Europhoenix livery. They look fantastic and the livery suits them really well. Bachmann really need to upgrade their tooling to produce 37/6s.
  18. Just to confirm a few things. A new thread regarding improvements to the OO Gauge Class 68s has been created on the Dapol Digest. This is a new and a different thread to the previous ones mentioned. Dapol are asking for people who are interested in having new DRS liveried bodyshells to come forward and comment on the Digest. I think at this time they are just wanting to know if it's worth producing new bodyshells because no doubt this will be a costly job if say a couple of thousand new bodyshells have to be produced. I have commented and expressed my interest in new bodyshells for 68002 and 68005. I and a few others have also asked if new 68001 bodyshells are going to be produced. As yet no Dapol staff have replied regarding this so hopefully this week coming we may know if 68001 is going to be included or not. Personally I wouldn't mind paying a fee for new DRS liveried bodyshells. I would be willing to pay £30-£40 per body. In theory the new bodyshells should be free considering that Dapol made the error in the first place. However I understand that this will no doubt be a costly job and therefore I wouldn't expect Dapol to have all of the expense otherwise this project may not go ahead if they have to stand all of the costs. Anything above £40 per new bodyshell I would not be willing to pay considering that the standard models were only £124 each originally. I do agree though with Class52s comment regarding the new bodyshells for 68001 been free. Considering that DRS are selling this loco for £200 each and that's just DCC Ready without a DCC Decoder, I think it would be a nice gesture to offer the 350 customers who have/will buy a model this for free considering the significantly higher price tag compared to the standard 002 and 005 models. It would be taking the proverbial to charge £200 for the loco, then a cost of the new bodyshell and the DCC Decoder for people who operate on DCC. This could mean a cost of £250-£260 for this one loco which even though it's a Limited Edition it's too much. You can buy sound locos for cheaper than this.
  19. This is really disappointing. Similar messages have been posted previously regarding the exact same issue. Considering that 68001 is priced significantly higher than the standard 68002 and 68005 releases you would think that it would come with a proper outer box and well packaged for postage. The fact that water has leaked onto the box of the loco and the loco is £200 is completely unacceptable. Personally I would contact DRS and inform them of the issue and request that they swop the loco and box and from now on that the locos are dispatched with a proper outer box and are well packaged. This is a shame because I am considering buying this loco but for the money and the issue raised and the fact that the loco and box could be damaged or faulty is really bad.
  20. I am really tempted to buy 68001. The only reason why I haven't yet is because of the livery error on one side. This is a shame otherwise I would of bought this loco as soon as it was available. I have just asked Dapol on the Digest tonight if new body shells with the correct livery are going to be produced for 68001. If this is the case I may buy a model of 68001 and then acquire the new bodyshell when they are available. It would be nice to have this as a Limited Edition. You were really lucky acquiring 97303 for just £155. Like you say a lot of the others that are sold are for £200+. Hopefully one will become available that is reasonably priced. I have the Dapol IOAs and JNAs. They are both fantastic wagons and I use them on a lot of trains on the layout. I have probably spent a bit less than 7.2K. I reckon maybe 5.5K in the last three years or so. Maybe more but that's just a quick guess. I think the same. This hobby is very expensive and I didn't plan to spend as much money as what I have done on it in the past few years but as we have said if you don't acquire locos and stock you will most likely not be able to acquire them in the future or if you can you will have to pay increased prices.
  21. That's true and I had forgotten about the fact that they may be occasionally used on freight trains. However if a large number of 68s were re-vinyled into TPE livery this would reduce the opportunity to model/replicate freight workings that the 68s work in reality when they are been used on TPE passenger services.
  22. Fantastic selection of locos. I have all of your DRS fleet of locos except for 68001. I too am hoping to acquire 37424, 37688, 47805, 68003 and 68008. I have wanted to acquire the Model Rail Limited Edition 97303 for a while now but they are very rare to find for sale. Hopefully I will acquire one in the future. I would really like the Hornby NR Class 43s. I just don't have the money for them at the moment and I definitely don't have the money for the NR MK3s to go with them. I'm the same. In the past three/four years I have lost count of how much I have spent on locos and rolling stock. But as most locos are only produced as one batch and rarely re-run you really have to buy locos quickly to ensure that you have them before they sell out.
  23. That's brilliant. I really like these five 47s. The prices were quite cheap and reasonable too considering that they are all Limited Editions. I am also hopefully going to buy DRS Compass 47805 when it's released. That will be another nice loco to add to the fleet. You're right. I do need to set up my own thread on here. The only reason why I haven't is because I am not a modeller as such I just have a layout, with track down, with painted baseboards. I just don't have the time for modelling as such and I am just grateful to run the locos. I started off originally modelling Leeds Midland Road with Freightliner locos. But since I built this new layout a year and a half ago I decided to have Crewe Gresty Bridge as the depot because I had a lot more DRS locos than Freightliner already at this point. I will definitely find some time to set up a thread and add some photos and captions. Thank you for all of the support Jim. Very much appreciated. Thank you for all of the support. I really appreciate it. I will definitely set up a layout thread. The layout is pretty basic at the moment and mainly consists of the baseboards, track and locos and stock but as suggested it must be worthy of it's own thread by now. This is good to hear. At the moment I currently have no Colas locos. But I have big plans for big changes regarding this in the next year or so. I have had one Colas loco previously but unfortunately I sold it. This was ViTrains 47739. I really wish that I had kept it now and modified the couplings. What Colas locos do you currently have? I think that the cost of overhauls is a big factor regarding the older DRS traction. I am sure that Network Rail provide funds to overhaul the 20/3s for the RHTT season but that's because they are required for the Yorkshire RHTTs. The likes of the 37/6s and 47s that are not really used on RHTTs therefore won't get the funds off of Network Rail to overhaul them. Overhauls for these locos would cost an absolute fortune meaning that it isn't financially viable to overhaul them. Especially considering that Colas now have their own fleet of 37s for NR test trains. They no longer require the hiring of DRS locos. Flask trains are now mainly in the hands of other overhauled 37s, 66s and more recently 68s. I agree it's a shame that the 47s have now been sold and the 37s are slowly either been sold on or scrapped but they have served their purpose and have been very useful to DRS when expanding and developing in previous years.
  24. Thank you for letting me know. It looks brilliant. I wonder if Bachmann have the correct tooling to produce 37057 if/when it receives Colas Rail livery? That would look very good with 37099.
  25. Looking brilliant Jim. I really like the station and platforms and the lines under the station. That's very good for stabling trains. If you don't mind me asking where did you get your BR Green 37057 from with the yellow ends? Looking forward to seeing more. Thank you very much in advance.
