  1. I wasn't referring to the ease of fit. The edge of the door moulding is radiused (for manufacturing reasons) and I expect the adjacent body edge is also radiused, for the same reason. Consequently, the gap between door and body looks huge. I think doors moulded as part of the body, with a feature line, would have been better.
  2. Thanks for the front end comparison. The front doors on the model look as if they are a separate component. Was that a good idea?

  8. Roy, McC’s subsequent comment shows that they are learning all the time and Bocoops later comment reinforces the attention they pay and the speed of their response. Something you might not expect from others. I expect the changed Acc have made are an adjustment to existing strategies and not a knee jerk to circumstances. Acc will have long ago (well, within the last five years) considered what risks might affect the success of the business. Have manufacturing in the far East, they will have considered such risks as transport, the politics of an authoritarian state (positive and negative, if only in a business sense), weather events (likely to become more extreme and frequent), response time. These and many more will have been considered and the degree of risk assessed. Actions to minimise risk and contingencies should risk mitigation not be possible or for show stoppers. 97406 suggested that Acc should not be so optimistic on timings. I don’t know the arrangements for airfreight, but it sounds expensive. One draw back is using airfreight is that if there are delays there is no more speedy service to catch back. Maybe sea freight could be considered the normal route and airfreight the contingency. there are always opportunities to learn.   9. Andy, With all those difficulties, the name of any businesses game is customer culture, and the goal, customer satisfaction. Some might say that these are none essentials, toys even, but and as such we shouldn’t complain. I don’t know why but that seems to be the way of it. Anyway, that doesn’t mean we can’t be disappointed. Acc’s role, outside of providing good quality product, is to keep the customer happy and onside. They manage this on forums like this, regular updates on their website, their public interaction at numerous events and probably many other activities. That still doesn’t mean the customer isn’t allowed to express disappointment. The purpose of sites such as this isn’t just to lavish praise. I think the people at Acc probably learn more from these sorts of conversation than being constantly “loved up”. The positive thing is, they’re listening, and they seem to care. Bob
  10. So it would seem. I assume the assertion from Acc refers to those already shipped and not as some might interpret the statement from McC, above.
  11. Are these consignments air freight or sea? With the typhoon now dissipated, despatch should be imminent. The delays, for the batch of models previously described by Acc as the most popular, are approaching normal for some of your competitors. Better make sure you don’t fall into that category. Bob
  12. Great news. I plan to back date the blue TOPS version to circa 1970. Are they supplied with frost grilles?
  13. I don't wish to appear impatient but I'm sure the Acc web site suggests the original 37s (EE type 3s) are due in late August. The silence on this matter is becoming deafening. Bob
  14. I'm very grateful for your recommendation. My usual method is T-Cut but that leaves a glossy area. Good for applying decals but visually a bit unsightly if it extends too far from the new number. Thanks again. Bob

  20. I have to agree with Moley, your photographs do look as if they are in natural light. More than that, they look as if they are taken outside. How have you recreated the natural outdoor appearance, where you have unidirectional light from the sun but the whole area is bathed in light so that you avoid the sharp and heavy contrast shadows from a unidirectional lamp?
  21. Hello Waverley West, I’ve seen your work previously on other topic and have been stunned by the superb quality and the way you photograph it. These images, in my opinion, top everything I’ve seen to date so I was compelled to comment. The modelling workmanship is top drawer and these images bring the whole thing to life.
