  1. Never say never. Quite unexpectedly in the mid 60's 4 or 5 of these locos from the Western Region turned up at Patricroft - local to me - including 82000 itself, in plain green, to spend their last days.
  2. Exactly. Being a fictional railway it doesn't have many locos of its own (just a few I like which aren't preserved), so everything that is preserved is on loan.
  3. After a days running on the South Lancashire preserved railway, the crew of 45110 coal the loco prior to putting it on the shed for the night.
  4. Hi Andy. Loved the video. It's sometimes good to see the bad with the good, to encourage those of us who aren't as nimble fingered as we used to be! The layouts coming on well. I know you don't like buildings, but you need to do them sometimes, to make the scene you want. I hate wiring, but, because I was the one in the group who knew most about it (which isn't saying a lot), I became the club "electrician" It had to be done, or no exhibition layout! All the Best, Trevor
  5. On the preserved South Lancashire Railway, 03 170 shunts some coal wagons into the Highfield Steam Shed coaling stage.
  6. Coming along beautifully, Andy. Keep it up. Looking forward to seeing how the point rodding works. Didn't you use Wills last time? Trevor
  7. Hi Andy, it's really great to see that your change of plan has heightened your enthusiasm, and got you back to the "High Speed Andy" we've grown accustomed to! Long may it continue. Trevor
  8. Yes, I enjoyed the rock band very much. Trevor
  9. Hi Andy, I put my comments on YouTube. Looking forward now to the next video to see what you do with those empty boards. Hope you can do another harbour/estuary scene. All the Best, Trevor
  10. To celebrate the forthcoming centenary of the Grouping, in particular the formation of the LMS, the South Lancashire Railway are staging an exhibition of LMS pre-grouping locomotives. Examples of LNWR, L&Y, Midland and Caledonian can be seen, including one in primer displayed on a low loader.
  11. There must be quite a few LNER 00 gauge you haven't bought yet then, Andy. Still a few more opportunities? TRevor
  12. I'm now totally confused!! (Nothing unusual there though!) But really. What's going on? Trevor
  13. This is a photo from my former layout “Walkden Yard”, based on the Central Workshops of the NCB NW Area at Walkden, west of Manchester. 47669 is there because in April and May 1960 it was provided by BR to cover for ex-North Stafford 0-6-2T No2 which was away at Crewe Works for repainting and then Stoke on Trent for an exhibition celebrating the centenary of the NSR. The layout was built around 2005 and sold in 2008.
  14. Agreed. I put the YooChoos Coal Tank in mine for the same reason. LNWR whistle too, of course. Trevor
  15. Good to have you back on your site, martin. Shout if you need a hand. All the Best, Trevor
  16. It's not only valve gear, it's boilers and tenders as well.
  17. I'm disappointed that the centenary of the merger of the L&Y with the LNWR has been ignored. This happened before the 1923 Grouping..
  18. The photo of 45157 is actually preserved 45407 renumbered and renamed by the ELR. The boiler is wrong for 45157, which should be domeless. Which will Hornby show on the model? Will it be as preserved ie 45407, or prototypical. It is possible 45157 carried a domed boiler, as one Scottish works was famous for shoehorning in boilers, but that would not be as built.
  19. You're too modest; perhaps just a little more than that, eh?
  20. Good job you didn't build the virtual quarry, Andy. At the rate you use PVA ,to make aa pile of ballast you'd use the whole supply from Hampshire! All the Best for the New Year, Trevor
  21. Thanks Andy. No, I don't have a thread. My Wi-Fi is so slow it takes an age to do anything, plus I'm not sure about what I can offer. I've only recently started to post on this topic. Anyway, I am happy with what I have, with no plans to build anything else. All the Best, Trevor
  22. Hi All, Today I tried to recreate on my preserved South Lancashire Railway a railtour from the 1980s, with Hardwicke and the Midland Compound on a train of Blue/Grey Mk1s. The headboard is freelance, however. I think the original said Gainsborough Model Railway Club. Hope you've all had a good Christmas .All the Best for the New Year. Trevor
  23. Brilliant, thank you. Just as I remember it at Arnside. Trevor
  24. I saw it with 4 Mark 1s in May 1976 going from Grange over Sands to Carnforth. This was at Arnside. Trevor
  25. Thanks Andy and All the Best to you and yours. Thanks for all the pleasure you've given me. Trevor
