  1. It would be great if the SVR got 48773 back in traffic
  2. No problems WBF. Yes 60 019 has been on the Fiddlers Ferry trains. Here's my picture of it at Winwick, heading for Arpley. 60 019. Being local I may have captured other pictures of your intended fleet. However as steam is really my interest I don't do a lot of modern image photography. Regards, Ian
  3. Sorry, It would appear my attempt at posting was a failure. Here's my second attempt. If you want the hi res versions, please pm me your email address. Ian 60 074 60 074
  4. I photographed 60 074 on the Fidllers Ferry train on 25th August 2012. Here's a link to my picture of it running round at Latchford.
  5. Here is a picture of 46511 and 1432 at Ellesmere and a similar picture on the layout for comparison. The shot of 46511 and 1432 has been copied from the thread 'PGH's photographs of British Railways from c1960', and has been used with the generous permission of Philip Hindley. Philip's thread contains other interesting pictures of Ellesmere and the area. See http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/79414-pghs-photographs-of-british-railways-from-c1960/
  6. The Auto train and the Dukedog in the station.
  7. A picture of the signal box. This is the view from the operators side. Another close up of the station.
  8. Larry, I have a lot more pictures to post. I just need to get round to processing them. Ian
  9. It is at Rainhill tomorrow, 6th March. The next opportunity is Wigan in October of this year,
  10. One more for now of the magnificent station building.
  11. Another picture of Ellesmere taken today (05/03/2016) at Rainhill Model Railway Exhibition. Taken from the goods yard looking towards the footbridge and station. More to follow.
  12. Back on topic regarding the pictures. First a picture featuring the goods shed. Second a picture of the waiting room on the oppposite platform to the station building. Finally another picture which includes a picture of the top of the station building. I will try and take some more pictures when the layout next appears at Rainhill model railway exhibition on 5th and 6th March 2016 for those who can't get to the show.
  13. Another picture of 43052 and 46203 on Rhyd-Y-Clafdy.
  14. The canopy from Oldham Mumps does now grace platform 2 at Bury Bolton Street station and the Trackside bar from where several excellent beers are on sale. There are plans to erect the remaining parts of the canopy at Rawtenstall. There was also a plan to install some of the fencing that was also recovered from Oldham Mumps at Rawtenstall. I'm not sure if this was done, but if I remember I will check next time I run round there.
  15. A reminder of Phil's previous layout, Rhyd-y-clafdy. 43052 tows 46203 to Butlins Holiday Camp, Pwllheli.
  16. A couple more pictures of Phil's superb Ellesmere Layout. First the footbridge and magnificent station building. Second shot is a view of the old turntable and yard.
  17. Hello Andrew, I too can't comment on Railmatch primer. I've never used it. Like many others I use Halfords rattle cans. If I were to airbrush primer I would use a cheap one from ebay rather than an expensive one. I did see an example of a brass plate sprayed with Phoenix etching primer and being very impressed. It was quite some time ago now. I have no idea how quickly railmatch primer should take to dry, but agree with Mick. 4 days seems too long. Ian Hello Andrew, I too can't comment on Railmatch primer. 18. The Bachmann 47 looks very sad. What paint stripper were you using?
  19. The colour of the fire is not necessarily wrong. It depends what the loco is doing and the state of the fire. A red fire would probably be indicative of a run down fire, mainly glowing coals. If the engine was being worked hard, and with a good fire, it would be white.
  20. William, Lovely little layout. Well done. The distant arm on your signal should be yellow with a black chevron, not yellow and white. The reverse is a white background, with a black vertical band for the home, and a black chevron on the distant. Regards, Ian
  21. Great project. I am a director of The Stanier 8F Locomotive Society, have fired 44871 and Rose Grove was my local shed. I shall be following your project with interest. I am just about to have a go at 7mm kit building after a lifetime in OO.
