  1. Thought I would share another photo of my J70 on my other micro layout Rural Goods. Regards Paul.
  2. Hi Keith. I use Smiths LP4 couplings. The hooks are slightly bigger than prototype, but anything smaller would probably drive me crazy when I'm trying to couple them up. I would recommend starting with a couple of cheap wagons to see how you get on. Regards Paul.
  3. Thank you Keith. All the stock is 3-link. Hand of God was cleaverly edited out. Regards Paul.
  4. Thank you Kevin,It's the J70 that has just been released from Model Rail and Rapido. Excellent little loco runs really well. No connection to either company just a very happy customer. Regards Paul.
  5. A short video I uploaded to You Tube. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  6. It's got me thinking of maybe a series of them with fiddle yards in-between. And they are stackable. Um I feel another trip to Ikea coming on. Regards Paul.
  7. A few more photos. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  8. Thank you TechnicArrow. Yeah I would have to agree with you I think it would be tricky joining more together. Regards Paul.
  9. Thank you Luke, The clip on light is another Ikea purchase. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/lighting/work-lamps/jansjö-led-wall-clamp-spotlight-black-art-40386316/ Regards Paul.
  10. Speaking of lashing together a fiddle yard, opted for a simple affair to get trains running. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  11. Thank you Marc. was initially thinking sliding sector plate, but think I will just opt for a right hand point to join both sidings with a single piece of track, turning it into a small shunting puzzle layout. May make it a scenic fiddle yard but without a back scene. still mulling over ideas. Regards Paul.
  12. Excellent figure painting as always Mikkel. I must give those ModelU figures a try. Regards Paul.
  13. Thank you col_kilgore, Yeah one of the learns I'm taking away from this build is to try and curve the corners of the back scene on my next layout. Regards Paul.
  14. Thank You Luke. Hopefully once I've made the fiddle yard I will produce a short video of it running. Regards Paul
  15. My J70 arrived earlier this week. It certainly is a fantastic model that Rapido and Model Rail have produced. just finished weathering it with powders today. Here are a few photos of it on my Ikea Crate micro layout. Regards Paul.
  16. A few photos of the layout with some stock on it. The J70 is the recent release from Model Rail that I finished weathering today. Still got a few finishing touches to do, plus I need to build a fiddle yard for the layout. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  17. A little bit more done to the layout. Small goods shed and another tree added. The goods shed is from Bachmann, I have had this for a while so its nice to finally use it on a layout. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  18. Thank you Mikkel. Have had a week off work so its been nice to have the opportunity to do some modelling. I do find that when the modelling bug hits me I zoom through these little projects quite quickly. Then I tend to have stretches of inactivity. Regards Paul.
  19. Track ballasted and greenery added, I used woodland scenics fine brown ballast for the track. The grass is dark green scatter with a lighter green static grass applied with a puffer bottle over the topi feel this gives the grass a nice texture. The two trees are both from woodland scenics tree kits. I am going to add a small goods shed to the left hand side this will hopefully act as a bit of a view blocker to the fiddle yard. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  20. Hobbycraft also do one at £8 https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/wooden-crate-40cm-x-30cm-x-18cm/636897-1000 although the Ikea one is definitely more substantial. Regards Paul.
  21. Thank you David, I started by painting them with a base coat of dark grey and then mixed a lighter grey and blended this in keeping the darker areas at the edges. once this was dry I used brown and black weathering powders over the whole area. Regards Paul.
  22. I have painted the concrete hard standing and Das clay, not to sure about the colour think it could do with being a bit lighter. but will wait to see how it looks once the track is ballasted and greenery added. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  23. A little bit more done to the layout today. used some grey board to create some concrete hard standing, will paint and weather tomorrow. found some buffer stops in the spares box. Have used Das modelling clay to create a dirt crossing and a small embankment at the back, have laid it thinly so should be dry by the morning I will then use sandpaper to give it a smooth finish before painting. A big thanks to everyone who has left likes and commented so far. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  24. Managed to do a bit of modelling today, track fixed into place and weathered in my usual way, I use Hubrol Dark earth matt spray paint, a quick spay and once dry I clean the tops of the rails. Then I painted the back scene using Wilkos Tester pots moody blue mixed with white. More to follow, thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  25. Thank you Cloggydog, The Internal dimensions are 38cm x 29cm. Its certainly a very strong structure, will definitely being picking up some more the next time I go to Ikea. Regards Paul.
