  1. Thank you for the comments and likes. Here is a few more photos Thanks for looking, more to follow Regards Paul.
  2. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. So i thought I would share my latest layout. It all started a few months ago when I acquired the Dapol windmill kit. Having finished the kit, I decided it needed a home. So this is what I came up with. This is my first venture into 009, And i like what can be fitted into a small space. The layout measures 70cm x 54cm. All the track is Peco set track. The windmill and cottage are both Dapol kits, the barn is a Wills kit and the station building is Peco. The figures are from monty’s and the horse and cart are from Dartcasting. I Have taken more photos that I’ll post shortly, thanks for looking regards Paul.
  3. Thank you Steve. I use two different kinds NEM 362 no.19, these plug strait into the NEM pockets. Or if I find the NEM pocket to be at the wrong height I remove it and attach Kadee no. 146 whisker couplers directly to the body. See post 106 on page 5 for photos. Hope this helps. Regards Paul.
  4. Thank you Richard, that is a great idea. I am a big fan of your layouts, shelf island and Fairport MK2, I love the way you have connected them. More to ponder. Regards Paul.
  5. Thank you Johna, the overall size of the layout is 108cm x 23cm. The extra point on Rural Goods definitely makes it more fun to operate. Regards Paul.
  6. Thank you Luke. I use Games Workshops paint for the figures. I start with a black undercoat then build the colours up. Regards Paul.
  7. Thank you Jerry. I do enjoy painting these figures I feel they bring the layout to life. Regards Paul.
  8. A few figures placed on Rural Goods, none of them are permanently attached. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  9. Thank you Luke. I do have a bit of an addiction to small locos, steam and diesel. Thank you Marly51. When I first got into model Railways about 10 years ago my plan was to build one large layout. But after the birth of my two children space in the house for a large layout was a no no. So I started building micro layouts. I’ve built quite a few over the years. The first few were pretty hopeless but I’ve probably learned far more from building micro layouts than I would have from building one large one. I also tend to keep the location and time frame of my layouts quite vague, that way I can swap stock and figures around. Saying that though I do admire some of the larger layouts on here that stick to a particular location and time frame. Regards Paul.
  10. Nice job on the figures Steve. The finished layout looks great. Regards Paul.
  11. That’s not a bad idea Christian. Although my preference is to build self contained micro layouts. But it would be fun to run the two layouts point to point. More pondering. Meanwhile here’s some more photos. Regards Paul.
  12. Thank you Luke. That is something I’m thinking about. And because I extended Rural Goods, I do have a spare really useful storage box just waiting for a new micro. Was pondering a small rural station. Maybe. Regards Paul.

  20. A few shots taken this evening of my class 03 shunting some wagons. Thanks for looking. Regards Paul.
  21. So after a lot of pondering, I decided to extend the layout. I have added about another 30cm to the left, this area is now a scenic fiddle yard. All this meant it no longer fits inside the really useful storage box. So I decided to add a permanent backscene and a control panel at the front. This now means that the layout is plug and play and can be set up in minutes. Original layout. Layout now. Thanks for looking, more to follow. Regards Paul.
  22. Thank you Martyn, painted the backboard first, then used a very fine artists pen to pick out the letters and the edges. Regards Paul.
  23. Found a small ratio beware of trains sign. Painted and added to the layout. Regards Paul.
