  1. Hi Clive, Looking great! Have to disagree on your choice of era/coaching stock. crimson and cream with early emblem looks SOOOO much better than that crest and maroon rubbish. Keep up the good work! Peter (Quite probably RMweb's youngest member)
  2. Hi, Looking great! I think I can recall something about you scratchbuilding a CL24 earlier in the thread? If so, it would be nice to see some photos as I am currently attempting the same thing, along with an eventual superdetail/repaint of a Lima CL55. I hope to also scratchbuild other rare items such as the CL05,CL01 and possibly a CL13, however sadly these will not go on my layout, they will either be sold or given as birthday/christmas presents to a friend of mine. If the CL24 goes well, I may well go on and do a CL20 or a CL23. Anyway, enough about me. I look forward to seeing more updates in the future. Peter
  3. Also, I apologise if this is off topic, but would a Hornby RR Flying Scotsman tender be to the same design? Because I know someone who has one surplus to requirements. Regards, Peter
  4. Hi, I have no idea how I missed this thread!!! I have been looking for info on detailing and repainting/numbering Hornby RR A4's for weeks now! Want to renumber/paint my 4469 Gadwelll (TTS Sound fitted) to 60012 Commonwealth of Australia in BR Express Blue. A couple of questions - Do you know if 60012 had a corridor tender or not, if yes then where can I source one? Do I need decals for the cabside numbers or do I use the 2 60012 etched plates that I got with the nameplates from Modelmaster? Did 60012 (or any other A4) keep the side valances into the mid to late 1950s? Any suggestions/tips much appreciated Peter **EDIT - And I apologise to Rob for stealing the 100th post on this thread Looks great though.
  5. Hi Gwiwer, I was given this thread by Peter (From Waverley Shed to Galashiels). It looks great, but I do not have the time to go through the whole thread atm. I will try and go through at one stage or another, so don't be surprised if a couple of hundred likes etc come your way this week!! Regards, Peter (Dunoon)
  6. Hi, I have seen something which looks a LOT like this at Grosmont model train shop on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Is this a coincidence, or is that where this ended up? Sorry if this has already been noted, however I do not have enough time to go through all of this as I am currently in English. Regards, Peter
  7. Hi John, Looking great! I must admit I do not envy you in having to lay all that track On a more serious note, it does look amazing! I can't wait to see it progress further! Regards, Peter
  8. Nah its fine! I wouldnt be surprised at that - whenever I go into a model train show it seems as though there is an unwritten rule that people under the age of 40 are not allowed in! In regards to your previous posts, no I haven't seen Gwythers layout yet, what is it called? Regards, Peter
  9. Hi David, The layout looks absolutely amazing! Congratulations! I have always wanted to have a small layout like that, however me restricting myself to one scale - OO, means I cant do a lot. Peter
  10. Just been catching up on this thread, making the most of a fair chunk of LOTE and Science! Looking great, and I really envy the amount of space you have, not to mention rolling stock. My rolling stock is a loco, 3 freight wagons, 2 passenger coaches, a parcels van and a CL108 DMU. Luckily a Railroad A4 in the guise of Gadwall will soon appear, to be repainted and numbered into 60012 Commonwealth of Australia. Peter
  11. Hi Will, Looking great! Its a shame it isnt bigger though The scenery looks extremely realistic, and is definitely proof of your amazing modelling skills! I can't wait to see more happening and more operational videos, and possibly an extension Peter
  12. Hi, Been a while since I have been on this thread - interests waned and after a visit to England I have my heart set on 1950s ScR in Crimson and Cream. Real shame about the points, thats going to be annoying. I wish I could get my layout up to the standard yours is at, but that is unlikely, as school commitments, especially in a couple of years when I start VCE/IB will be extremely time consuming. Peter
  13. Hi Peter, I havent got time to look through this entire thread, but I have looked through some pages and your work is absolutely stunning. I hope that I will get time to see some more of the thread. Regards, Peter
  14. Hi LNER4479 I have spent the last 2 days reading through your forum thread. Really great work on the layout!!! I envy you having so much space - I am restricted to 2'x8'. I would love to see the layout in the flesh sometime, however I dont think that will happen on this holidays Europe trip. We have to leave for the airport in 15 minutes! I really envy the amount of rolling stock that you and your little 'gang' are able to put together - 35 A4 class locos in one place must be a world first!!! Looking forward to doing 5 weeks worth of forum reading when I get back from Europe! Keep up the excellent work, Peter
  15. Hi Jules, Just spent the last hour or so looking through your thread. Excellent work on the layout. It would look great as a U shaped layout, with a main line junction at one end and Mayshill at the other. This would be an excuse to run the 52XX , and to have slightly longer passenger trains occasionally. Keep up the great work! Peter
  16. Hi Ray and Polly Just spent today (school) going through the forum. Excellent work! I have an idea or two coming along I really shouldnt have ideas though I have just started purchasing items for my new layout which will soon have its own thread. Great work, and I definitely think you have chosen correctly with using Kadee couplers. Just change the SR theme to LNER and you have it perfected! Cant wait to see it progress. Also, will you be at the York Railway Exhibition, as I am coming over to Britain/Europe for the term 1 holidays, and am going to the York railway exhibition on saturday the 4th of April. All the same, great work, and I cant wait for it to progress. Peter
