  1. A pair of Freightliner Class 86s weathered and a nano led fitted for a photograph arc effect. These are Pete Watermans to run on making tracks. After seeing SQRails post about how he faded the paintwork using a mix of freightliner green and a light grey and masking the logo to replicate a fresh vinyl logo being applied. I added the missing zero injury decals with railtec ones along with the 86627 renumber and used Fox transfers for the main logos and smaller freightliner logos on the cabs.
  2. What was the numbers of the yellow mpv and where did you get the decals from especially the decals on the cab sides.
  3. Making progress on my KUA rake to run the Accurascale KUA wagons with 2x Bachmann mk2a respray into DRS using Precision Paints and Railtec decals. The moulded handrails were removed and brass handrails added.
  4. https://flic.kr/p/2nkiUgn A pair of Bachmann Class 90s for Making Tracks 2 in Chester for Pete Waterman. A lot of work has gone into these. The factory weathering was pretty poor with just a brown mist underneath. I used T-cut to remove the factory weathering and create streaks. I also removed the the zero injury logo and blanked BR logos and Crewe Electric Depot plates. I used Fox transfers etched crewe electric depot plates and Railtec decals, and Nairnshire modelling Supplies etched BR logos. I used a mix of Ammo Mig streaking grime, grey panel wash and precision paints roof grime and frame dirt. I added a 0603smd led and mapped it to a random function output on the decoder
  5. Flangeway snowplough upgrade, adding chevrons on the lower front edge, blanking rear window (cheating just painting over it), painting white steps, red buffer sides, finally bolt heads in silver using cocktail stick eventually. Got some railtec decals to add missing details and renumber one. Will fit working 3d printed portable tail lamps (anycubic mono x) front and rear with dcc concepts pickups and esu lokpilot decoder and and bimode led red/white #flangeway #railtectransfers #anycubic #esu #dccconcepts #modeltrains #modelrailway #networkrail
  6. This is my attenpt at using a Bachmann dbso and my 3d printed bits, phdesign etched bits and 3d decal rivets

  8. Bachmann mpv timber trial network rail 2005, 3d printed log cradle drawn by me and printed on anycubic photon x, leds from bright components 0603 leds, loco-updates.uk used as a guide. Goodwood scenics log loads, scale model scenery ratchet straps. Precision paints and mig weathering washes. Legomanbiffo sound in both units, slanders from roads and rails.
  9. Various 3d printed parts all drawn by me but printed on a anycubic mono x. Class 37 nose for rog 37 couple of mods needed including the height. Ends for drs mk1 coaches for kua support coaches. Class 121 railtrack cameras, floodlights and nrn radio pods, portable tail lamps for network rail snow ploughs.
  10. 99% finished the mpv timer trial. Weathered both units. I used mig grey panel line wash, flicked streaking grime from mig diluted from toothbrush and with a cotton bud streaked down. Have a blow over with precision frame dirt, sleeper grime and roof dirt.
  11. Bachmann class 70 updated the lighting. Used loco-updates.uk website as a basis and added a few extra bits like the step lights and engine window lights. These were very distinctive when I used to see these at night at my old signal box in ditton. A lot of rewiring in this using 12 function outputs.
  12. Start of my updated network rail autoballaster rake with yellow band, black logos. Again used the la totally awesome to remove the factory rubbish weathering. Used precision paints railtrack warning yellow and railtec decals. This will be getting some special electronics in this one with a servo getting fitted working ballast chute and ballast pouring from side chute at rear. The floodlights along the bottom will also be powered. Legomanbiffo has also added ballast pouring sounds to his class 66 sound file for me but it will all be dcc controlled. Will use migs weathering video using chipping fluid to weather the top edges of the wagon
  13. Start of a transrail/colas 37 37240 to run with Merl Evans in a network rail rake of mk2 coaches. Bachmann subsector 37 soaked in la totally awesome degreaser removed the cantrail which was to think in places, steel logo, numbers etc to leave blank canvas, touched up in a few places where degreaser took paint of like the grill. Coat of precision paints gloss and using railtec decals. 3d decals for colas logos and etched BR logos
  14. I've finished 7 OTA wagons that run between the mpv units they are Hornby OTA wagons, goodwoodscenics small timber loads. Scale model scenery ratchet straps. I used mig oil brushers white to fade some stachions. Mig grey wash, and frame dirt and brake dust paints to weather them
  15. Here's a photo of the resin cast underframe and speaker The log cradle modules were built for the timber trial using autodesk inventor, 3d printed on a resin printer for fine detail painted up. Timber loads are from goodwoodscenics and I'll be fitting ratchet straps from scalemodelscenery
  16. Nearly there with the Network Rail timber trial MPV. Started with the Bachmann mpv, the rear unit I created a cast of the drive unit under chassis to house a speaker 20x40mm. I put a loksound decoder in the cab behind the bulkheadand hardwired the extra lights, sound and stay alive. It has a legomanbiffo sound file in it. The log carrier I drew in autodesk inventor and 3dprintingcorner printed it for me.
  17. Is by Shefford still modeling and going to produce the usp 5000 kit as I'm really interested as just finishing my 08-16 kit
  18. Could you offer the circuit board and lighting circuits as a replacement you would only need the 6 solder connections for wheels and motor swapping or get that as a service for current models or create just a new lighting circuit with the markers joined together with a transistor from each headlight to feed them then just solder the 4 wires from existing main circuit board
  19. Hi dave if you have any of the affected colas 66s going cheap I'll repair them for myself
  20. Unless you have knowledge of circuitry and soldering skills i wouldnt reccomend it. I agree with pre grouping fan thay to get the correct lighting modes a complete mainboard and the 2 lighting boards complete
  21. All modifications are done at your own risk as it requires delicate and accurate cutting of circuit board tracks, adding extra wires and removal of most of the switches but To modify the lights to be prototypical you remove the plastic light shield on the 10mm square led circuit board cut the tracks that feed the headlights to isolate them from the markers join them together then add a wire from each of the headlight circuits back to the main board so they are all independent of one and another markers x2, day headlight and night headlight and tail lights so running fro. Each light board you have a common positive and 4x negative function outputs
