  1. Awesome, great teamwork between Accurascale and Realtrack. Sure to sell out.
  2. I've just found this thread again whilst researching the Agrevo train. The staff did stay on the train there being accomodation in coach 99910, which had bedrooms, showers and toilets. 99909 had a lounge area, kitchen and small workshop. 99908 was the storage coach for the weedkiller products, presumably bagged, and also had a generator to supply electricity. 99907 had the liquid mixing tanks, pumping equipment and the control gear for the spray equipment. I believe that the whole train was exported to Belgium in the 1990s and subsequently scrapped over there. Whilst sorting out less used stuff to sell on eBay to fund new purchases I've found a box of lima mk1 coaches which I've started to convert. I've finished cutting and shutting the body shells around to give the right window arrangements and provide roller shutter doors in the sides. I need to seriously hack the underframes around next to remove redundant battery boxes etc. I may even go so far as to replace the overscale brake equipment...we shall see. This was really a test exercise to see how easy it is to do, and I've found that the lima shells cut really well, using an engineers square and fine razor saw, and stick together fine with Humbrol liquid poly. There are some gaps to fill before priming. Does anyone know a paint match for the last livery before export? If I can figure out how to upload pictures from my tablet I will do later
  3. Hells teeth, from these photos alone, I reckon these are the best RTR 00 gauge wagon ever. Can I justify odering more than 3 sets.......might have to get another weathered set though.?...
  4. They, are wallet-emtyingly good. I'll have to get some more less-used stuff on eBay.
  5. Apologies, slightly off topic. Has 37901 still got it's trial Mirlees engine, or has it now been replaced with a standard class 37 power unit? Great pic Jim thanks.
  6. Ian, the layout looked, ran, and sounded fine today at Folkestone.. I would liked to have lingered longer, but unfortunately had 2 urchins in tow who needed input. What I particularly like about Tidworth is the overall excellent standard, and how it all blends together. Top stuff.
  7. Why cant ladies put the toilet seat back up when they've finished with it. Its very unhygienic

  8. Hi Rob Thanks for taking the time to reply. Top tip, you have jogged my memory about the reversed wiring thing thankyou. I don't think I can change cv29 with my Bachmann ez controller so I'll mandraulically swap the wires. See being Halton dual trade you'd know these things I could only manage being a Rigger.
  9. I've just fitted a Hornby class 37 tts decoder into a vitrains 37 which was working fine on dc previously. Initially lights didn't work, so I've rotated the plug 180 degrees. Lights now work wrong end i.e. white lights at rear when moving along the test track. Has anyone else had this, and how did you fix it? I'm currently using a Bachmann ez controller whilst I get my head around dcc and see if it's feasible for me to completely swap to dcc.
  10. I should probably add that the above is not intending to slag Hornby off. Far from it. I own many Hornby products of modern prototypes that I wouldnt class as modern models ,e.g. class 153 and 156, they don't have correct working lights some aren't even dcc ready, but they look and run fine to me. I have far too many wagons too - sealions, coalfish, tope. I have far more Dapol wagon products though.... Id like Hornby to continue and to do well. It's good for the hobby. You may be right Rob
  11. Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick, as usual, but I thought this thread was supposed to be about Hornbys Modern range. Now I took that to mean models of modern prototypes. It could of course mean modern (up to date) models of anything railway related, but I'm not sure it does. Hornbys range of models of modern items isn't large, and the range of modern models of modern items is even smaller. I'd probably only put the class 08, 60, 67 and 87 in that category. Probably controversial but I'd say modern is anything that runs regularly in frequent revenue use on the mainline, and a modern model is to scale, dcc ready/fitted, correct working lights where required, all wheel pick-up and drive from a central motor. So with that in mind I'd like to see some more contemporary liveries on the 60 and 67. I'd love to see Hornby makeover the 37 to give us one of the specification of the SLW 24, or Hattons 66. That 37 would sell as many as they could make in almost any livery (but please not the police one again) All of the above is of course written light heartedly, it is after all a hobby to us, and is only my 2 penny worth. I'm sure others will have a view too.
  12. An Electrostar EMU should be a no brainer for one of the manufacturers to produce. Would we trust Hornby to get it right first time? (think first run VEP, 365, or the latest brighton belle), or do we wait 5 or 6 years for Bachmann to do a good job
  13. I think I'd prefer them in DRS blue, either with DRS logos, or without. I don't think they had the wipac lights when they were in triple grey. Now I'm sure I'd actually melt, if someone produced one of the Europhoenix Class 37/6 with the wipac lights.....
  14. Both RBR and RKB would be useful.....
  15. Agree with much on this post, although I'd be surprised if Hornby were to produce a centre car for a Bachmann class 150
  16. Well if we're wishlisting..... 37/6 to modern standards with wipac headlights, and the new build flask wagons.......and a KFA warflat. I thankyou......
  17. What's this thing about 67's in Northern Belle livery? DB Cargo have done a couple of 67's up in Pullman umber and cream for the Belmond British Pullman, but the Northern Belle is now owned by WCRC and uses almost exclusively their own traction. I'd like tts ddcoders for the limby 101 and 156 too. Along with a chassis detailing kit for either from anyone. The Hurst 156 kit hardly ever seems to be in stock.
  18. Hi Rich Great work with these DMU's. For a centre car look on eBay for Bachmann class 411. There are several centre cars there. Hope this helps
  19. Just remembered where I've seen a photo of military vehicles on carflats. It's in the excellent new magazine from Rail Express Modeller on train formations.
  20. Too many for my limited storage space, and loops on the layout, so I'm gradually selling off my Lima collection that don't now get used. Mrs KDG agrees that I have too many, but then at an exhibition last weekend, she spied a Bachmann class 150/1 in FGW and insisted that I buy if for her as it had pretty pink doors. Who am I to argue? So that's another one then.
  21. They are nice models, I have a couple. They're not really suitable for the warwell as it stands as the warwells are missing the widened deck and special cradles
  22. I wish / hope somebody much cleverer than me would design a 3d printable Spartan/Sultan/Samaritan body to drop onto an airfix scorpion chassis. I'd be in the market for severalteen of those.
