  1. Got to be 60533 Happy Knight for me.
  2. He rose to the rank of General Secretary of A.S.L.E.F. in 1940 before going on to become a member of the Railway Executive. H was highly thought of in both positions by both soides. However the story has it that in the cab of 60114 was a plate stating "NOT TO WORK NORTH OF NEWCASTLE". Now Bill was born in Scotland, so that may have had some bearing on the matter,but rumour also has it that the nameplates were stolen a few times in Scotland prior to the sign being installed.

  9. I have to say I found the Virtual Show excellent and congrats to everyone involved. i have been very negative and quite vociferous about the GOG in the past ,but credit where credit is deserved 11 out of 10.

  11. Tom, I think you might be thinking of the EM Gauge one built by John Phillips and seen on High Dyke & Retford hauling lengthy trains at very high speeds whilst towing that "Bloody Rat". It was RED so I am not swearing.
  12. In fairness to you Gilbert she did go to Neasden from 41A then Derby,back to Neasden and then Cricklewood East , Bedford, back to Cricklewood East before departing North to Patricroft from where she was withdrawn in October 1967. A total life in BR service of a little less than 11 years.
