  2. Loco availability wasn't the best on the West of England line in 92, still it bought some interesting workings! (and some longer shifts) 33 053 London bound at Andover 1992

  4. 33102 races through Andover with Empty stock from Eastleigh 1992
  5. Thanks, wish I took more pictures back then but it was M.O.D and they may have been worried about the russians making their own 4 wheel chain driven shunters! got a few pics of the ludgershall train at Andover in 91/92 if they are of use.
  6. yes I always thought it was Pereham, seeing as I was BR and the Army track limit took over from the old Ludgershall platforms I just went with it , never wise to argue with em, besides, they made the tea in the engine shed!
  7. yes the vehicle depot at Ludgershall but it was known as the Tidworth to the army rail boys and its the nearest bit of track to there!
  8. Just found this thread, amazing. Actually worked trains to Ludgershall and had the odd run to Tidworth, usually on this little beastie back in 91
  9. yes that set of points has gone and the short spur by the groundframe also taken out, tho to be fair I have only taken one train into that spur in 16 years!
  10. I worked the Ludgershall MOD branch during Gulf war 1, no oil trains worked into there. Ammo, vehicles and medical supplies only.
  11. Army officers birthday special, Ludgershall 1992. The mark 2s are Army green!
  12. Remember taking a pair of class 31s up there on a train, never got a picture of the toad brake van that was parked there before it was burnt out in the early 90s tho!
  13. I used to work Army trains to Ludgershall, a few pics here http://www.swindonsotherrailway.co.uk/kray.html
  14. I used to shunt this train at Andover, UKF became KEMIRA fertilisers and switched from the PWA vans to Cargowaggons whose extra length became a nuisance on an s curve leading alongside the shed. The last time this particular track was used was 1991 due to the platform extension for 159s coming into service. Paul
  15. Having worked trains for wessex (oh to have them back) I must say you have captured the timescale and feel of it perfectly, nice work! Paul
  16. Being a Worcester guard and working through Lydney, I decided one day in 1994 to bag a lift off one of my colleagues who dropped me at the site of the Severn bridge. After a long climb upwards to the site of Severn bridge station I walked on to find the derelict signalbox ,still there, overgrown but standing. That was what started my interest in the F.O.D
  17. Cheers guys, have used them before, did not know they did signalbox plates, best get ordering!
  18. Hi, can anyone help with a manufacturer of custom GWR/WR signalbox nameboards? Thanks
  19. After visiting the FOD for over 25 years and several layouts from American N and Ho to British oo and back again I intend to model a small (and I mean small!) O gauge forest layout using inspiration from several locations. My first venture into 7mm so dipped my toe in with a couple of Dapol panniers and some 16 tonners (tinnun's), now to get building...
