  1. That reminds me to get my Hanson 59 done!! Dapol told me today their new one will be another year..!!
  2. Yes ive seen JNAs lots at westbury, great place for spotting. Im using a bit of modellers license with these I think. I want to put mrl markings on them but my research points to the fact that I havent built the right tyoe used by them. Im using the pattern nigel burkin illustrates in one of his book which is not correct for mrl.. I believe.. Break from building today as I visited Ally pally and got some reblows on One of my 66 and my 47. Time and money well spent!!
  3. What wagon is that Grizz? Good use of staples!! Started on some JNA this weekend... Lets get building!!
  4. Thanks for the compliments. They do look good in the pics. I havent scratchbuilt sine I was a teenager, which was 2 ARC PTA which was 30yrs ago. Theres a few innacuracies here but thats fine.. The next project we get better..
  5. Im using cambrian y25 which are bit of a pain to fold up and glue accurately. I havnt gone down the pocket route with the kadees as when I experememted they were to low. I soppose I need a supply from bachman - like you...
  6. Biggest issue has been buffer lock on points so I will have to compromise with shortening buffers and protrude of kadee.. I know what you mean with Underframe kit.. Its not really visable but as a modeller we want something there. Ive bought a batch of cylindars etc from genesis and 5il as experement for future projects. I may continue using sprue etc. As someone said ' never Throw anything away' lol!!
  7. The Underframe detail is scraps of plasticicard, rodding, bits of sprue and paperclips also.. I just built up a representation of what you can see in photos.. And its far from accurate. I choose a dirty brown for the main colour and added a rust wash and then rusty/yellow weathering powders.. Not sure what colour these wagons were before they went rusty..??
  8. Thanks Grizz.. Did you ever find a solution for transfers for the JRA...off to bed now..finished playing trains for one night , honest...
  9. How far off for this item any news...
  10. Here are some images.. I'm also not a rivet counter or an expert scratch builder. I'm sure you can spot some errors ! 4th one on the way, might keep it to 5 as only a small shunting layout. I wanted something a bit different then any ole RTR wagon that can be easily bought -AND they are getting expensive these days ! Scratch building offers some saving of cash as well as being quite absorbing! Any more ideas on projects and suppliers would be most welcome.. Buffers and more bogies ordered from Genesis thanks for that. I've contacted Brass masters re the lashing points but they say they don't do them..[?] are you calling them something else in this instance,,..? Thanks Marcoblanco
  11. thanks for in re suppliers. I will order em up ! Il post some pics of My JRA later. I'm thinking next il try some MRL JNAs as they look nice n simple!! Mark
  12. If you do a google search youl find drawings for the JRA. On here somewhere.. Ive just used it!!
  13. Looks as good as mine lol!! Can You tell me where you got the buffers and lashing points and the hooks from please!!?
  14. Glad to hear the 68 is looking and sounding good.. Thanks to Dapol for this, we do tend to take model manufacterers for granted at times.. Cant wait for the 59!! Went to check up on progress on dapols site and found some statement about 3rd party comments on the 68, wow whats all that about..?!!
  15. any vids of the sound chip class 68 in action please..? ;-]
  16. How about being able to individualy name functions for say just a bank of your first 10 locos.. That would probably solve the problem for me.. Just a thought..Thanks for answering us Fraser.
  17. for legobiffo re start /stop technology class 66 http://www.railmagazine.com/trains/current-trains/stop-start-66-put-through-its-paces/page/4/image/4811
  18. just wondered if Lego has replicated the start stop tech in for the 66s on the chip.. Mark w
  19. confusing as D400 says bachman highland region is a v4.o but my cv table with the loco says sound volume goes up to 64.. which means its a 3.5..? whos telling the truth..
  20. Something posted on Facebook 'model railways' group by somebody.. Who must have a trade connection...
