  1. Did tea have tf25 at some point..?? Not sure about ioas.. Ive done some MJA x2 and looking for freightliner transfers.. Getting around to paint the yeoman jya sooner or later
  2. Great work Grizz.. I bet you are proud of them! Whats the chosen loco to drag these little babies?
  3. well there's a brunette down the local I've had my eye.. oh modelling sorry .. I got those O&K bogies off S kits eventually, at Burton DEMU at the beginning of the month.. it was good to meet George and have a good chat .. he's planning a kit for the PHA angular hopper later in the year, the type of which no longer in use... I need to finish off my MJA's AND THE oAND k plain hopers as above..
  4. Couldnt find intercity models grizz.. Forgotten what for anyway..
  5. Thank you Paul. Its not my topic as such but started by Grizz. Im contributing as much as I can though but Grizz deserves the Credit for his knowledge that hes contributed, especially with awareness of suppliers.. Funnily enough tonight I took some pics of my 2 oand K HOPPERS with intention of posting. I plan to badge up with yeoman branding and run with some PGA, in a mixed rake.. Busy at work lately but maybe a window for some spraying at the weekend.. Scratchbuilding can be expensive but not as expensive as RTR wagons..!!
  6. Good to see the building coming along.. If you have a printer you Could try doing you own transfers onto transfer paper which can ne be bought.. You just have to get a decent pic of what you want.. Or ask railtech to have a go..I spoke to the chap at burton and hes willing to add to his range upon modellers suggestion. Meanwhile ive started on a O&K hopper

  8. Well I dont mind that they do but at the moment im quicker
  9. Ive often looked at graffitied wagons and thought what a waste of talent..your just ruining someone else's property.. Its kinda they get a kick out of being 'naughty' in my experience they are usually NEETS' teens who are not in Education, employment or training..
  10. Yes they are Jna's Grizz, similar to the mrl.(which are in the bible) Ive seen the Blue ones in rail express mag a while ago.
  11. Yes ive decided to scratchbuild what I see.. Challenging, time consuming, fun but above all slightly cheaper!!
  12. Homemade transfers which have prooved difficult but not a bad effort. Il have to take better photos of markings on HOA. They will do for the time being..
  13. The PAA wagon is converted or based on pga. Yes the shape is complex and difficult. I got the top bit slightly wrong. Its in the bible.I have some finishing off to do on the HOA and scrap JNA, adding transfers. Not sure whats next.. I have lots of suspension units for the pga/ PAA so may add to the rake. When new wagons are starting to reach the £40 mark it makes sense to keep develope the building. Im looking to visit DEMU at burton and getting bogies for jya hopper and for PTA off s-kits..
  14. Had a go at a PAA this weekend.. A couple of mistakes but much learned... Not sure if im gonna add to the rake of one. Lol.
  15. Ok Thanks Paul. Ive been thinkin about other projects of more difficult curved wagons. Maybe il try the method sooner ir later. I was toying with the idea of using the method for an attempt at PAA hopper. But may resort to structure the sides up with joins and fill in the joins with filler. Of course I Could convert existing Hornby /lima pga but that isnt as much fun and is costly. Not that im watchin the pennies lol!
  16. I use 40 thou at the moment for basic structure building. I will take on board using tipex for filler.. maybe you've spotted something Ive missed lol!! I've ordered some bits from wizard models and hopefully looking at doing a PAA as seen in the 'Bible' Meanwhile I have some finishing off and painting to do on the HOA. A friend of mine has a top notch printer and has been kind enough to experiment at doing some transfers for the mendip HOA, as they're not available commercially. Its just a matter of 'guestimating' the dimensions from a photo and doing a trial run. I think I read in one of Nigel Burkins book how plasticard can be bent to a profile by immersing in hot water, is this true and do you have a method for producing curved bodies. ?
  17. HOA X2 on the way. Be doing the transfers as as will have to make oneself.
  18. Arr nice.. I am one of the disciples... Are the bogies tankers based on a prototype or freelance..?? Ive put tank wagons on the back burner for the minute. Started on a IOA.
  19. Ive tried looking at pipe.. Cant find the right diameter... Unless anyone else has
  20. Grizz , I have bought the bible , I am converted , praise the Lord. I am looking at doing something a bit more complicated bodywise next. I've seen the HOA at Westbury along with JHA I think . The HOA isn't included in the bible but there is a drawing on the Astra wbsite. I see this as the next step. Have you ever scratch built tank wagons? I was thinking of also attempting a TUA -larger type of tta with different suspension. But finding tube section is difficult. I may 'cut and shut' old Hornby TTA and reuse the underframes...
