  1. Basra has thankfully arrived this evening! Considering hanging fire on chipping it till I've seen others get a TXS N18 decoder into one with no bodging.. Nathan...
  2. I suffered the same issue with mine, still waiting now....
  3. I see you've gone for 34 as the route code.. Any reasoning behind it or just a mix it up code? I went for 66 on mine personally due to me spending so much time when I was younger on the East Grinstead line. Took mine with my to Alton FebEx last weekend and ran it on Folly Lane, and it certainly didn't look too much out of place! Nathan...
  4. Can you elaborate on the autotune bit please?? Ive got a Loksound V5 fitted to my 3514 and we were running it on Folly Lane this evening but it did seem a bit juddery at times. Cheers! Nathan
  5. Got my Southern one in the post yesterday! Box is massive!!! See reference pic... also saw the real one today at Waterloo! Dog for size ref 😂😂 423417 Gordon Pettitt with its Namesake infront, celebrating his 88th birthday. Could anyone that has the Southern version as well confirm if they have the route code stickers in the box? I haven't got any with mine... Cheers, Nathan...
  6. Got my email from Hornby this morning stating that the Southern one is in and ready for dispatch... What an expensive month January has turned out to be!!! Nathan
  7. Well, the show at Bognor went really well! A few non layout related issues were found, mainly the fiddle yard lines distorting due to the venue having floor heating, which evidently was on all of Saturday night... Unfortunately I suffered a rolling stock issue whilst doing the back to backs on one of my pullmans. The insulation on one of the wheels perished and blew one of the transformers to the layout, and also melted the bogie! Aside from that, the show went really well, and we had a lot of nice comments from visitors! See you all in Alton on 3rd to 4th of Feb! Nathan
  8. Very nice to see that we'll be able to get the S&D coaches and wagons seperately now! Defo got to get a Connie!
  9. With just under a fortnight till the layouts first show of the year at Bognor, we decided to bring the layout to our clubroom lastnight during a club night to make some minor track repairs and fit suppressors to the undersides of two of the boards. We also took the opportunity to fit working check rails on one of the joints that has been notorious for causing stock to derail every time we've had the layout up. These have proved to be very effective, and we are planning to now fit these across all of the FY joints. With these fitted, we have negated any chances of wheels rising up and derailing. To quote one of the other owners "working check rails, whatever next!" Please do say hello to us at Bognor if you're visiting! Till next time Nathan
  10. Merry Christmas from all 8 of us from Folly Lane! 44668 B.P.Hopkins made an appearance with a festive pullman charter. We look forward to showcasing the layout in the new year! First stop, Bognor on 13th-14th Jan! Nathan...
  11. This was an instant preorder! Had to bite myself not to order a second one, given that I'm already looking into one of the double packs of the standard release!!! Nathan...
  12. Completely forgot I had this thread! Just prior to GETS in October, I received some 3D printed rolling stock from Shapeways. Two "generic" coach bodies and accompanying chassis' and a host wagon, based on the one preserved at the Tallylyn Railway. Since October I have touched up the paintwork on the host wagon, picking out the metalwork, and rails for the NG stock. For the coaches, I gave both a coat of Halford's orange filler primer, and once dried, a coat of humbrol No.62, and finally a dry brushed coat of Phoenix Precision' P996 Weathered Teak. The roof was given a coat of Humbrol RC417 Coach Roof Off White. The chassis was given a good going over in black paint, just enough to allow me to run it on our clubs test track without looking too silly. Hopefully I'll remember the thread exists and drop some project updates as and when. Nathan...
  13. Morning All! We're planning on doing some work to the layout next Wednesday, clearing off parts of our job list. The two main things will be pairing up two of the boards to ease loading, and fixing up some of the track alignment in the fiddle yard, including renewing a whole section that had come away from the sleepers on one side! Once these are done, we aim to have a little play and get accustomed to how we're going to be showcasing it at exhibitions! Photo updates to come next week! Nathan!!
  14. Hiya, I've sent over an email with the requested photo and order No. Nathan...
  15. Received my plain black one yesterday, started adding detailing bits, only front steps so far, prior to DCC fitting in the new year. Looked at the leaflet with it to see how to chip it, and noticed the section relating to the brake rodding removal. I looked under mine to go and remove it in preparation for DCCing, and noticed the brake rodding wasn't fitted, nor was there any in the box. Aside from that, it seems to be a lovely bit of kit. Nathan...
  16. Will have to keep an eye out for you! What stand number??? Nathan...
  17. Interesting! Mine is the older 8pin socket in the tender, and even before HM7000 was a thing it behaved well without the need for a stay alive... Am I correct in saying that the Elizabeth II bulleid has a built in speaker enclosure?
  18. What generation of WC was it you fitted it to out of interest?? I've got one fitted in my loco drive tender socket rebuilt bulleid, and it has all the gubbins inside, speaker, decoder, and powerbank, and runs superbly! (Just look on YouTube for Gordon's Lane, over the past few days as I've had it running on there) Nathan
  19. Hate to break it to you, but Francis' stuff was filmed in April... Nathan
  20. I'm sure Greg will be pleased to see that!!! Hasn't stopped us all taking the mick out of him for being called the 'Club President' haha!!!! What you saw from the clips of our club were legit, nothing was staged. Nathan...
  21. Hiya, don't know if you do face ache, but someone was having a similar issue with the address changing there too on the HM7000 advert. I suggested to them to toggle to DCC, program with the respective DCC handset/ system, then toggle back to BT, and refresh the CVs, and that then worked for them. Fingers crossed this works for you too! Nathan!!
  22. Personally I'm looking forward the most to next weeks episode with Francis! Not because I'm in it at all... Just really hoping the clip of Pete and him looking at my black five made the cut Nathan
  23. I wouldn't see why not... Assuming that the setup is the same...
  24. Had my NSE saloon out on Cedar Court today during the BWWMRC scale show. Paired up suitably with an NSE 33/1! Ironically, three layouts in a row all had a form of Caroline on them!!! Nathan
  25. I filmed a bit of it on friday evening after setup had almost finished. https://youtu.be/gqaxbf-cCy0?si=m1XMUIOrKAMticyc Nathan
