  1. Evening all! Friday night I successfully undertook the same procedure that K Hatton carried out on his Blue Peter on my own one, and I'm surprised at the ease of it all! Getting the weight back in was a bit of a faff though, had to remove the cab weight to get it all back in, then refit that. Overall, easy installation and the app on android was a doddle. I did the same and installed the Tornado sounds, and I'm impressed! Last night I spent two hours reinstalling and resetting my other five already TXS'd locos onto my phone, and installed a sixth to a 66 too. Apart from messing up the first reinstall of the 08, everything went smoothly! Nathan...
  2. I've noticed previously that the DCC Address you input on the app doesn't always translate over to DCC properly, double check that the code is correct in programme mode (no idea how you do that on ESU as I use LENZ) Nathan...
  3. Folks, I'm half tempted to get one of these, however, did they ever venture into Eastbourne/ Marshlink territory? Cheers, Nathan...
  4. In your settings application on your tablet, scroll down to apps, then locate HM DCC. click that folder then select permissions. then you can manually choose which permissions you want to allow/ deny. Having just gone through this procedure myself to make sure what I've typed is correct, I've found that none of the permissions were active, so I've manually allowed what needs to be allowed. Hope this helps! Nathan...
  5. App now installed on my phone, logged in, and realised I'm now gonna have to re-register the decoders to this one vice my sisters ipad hahaha! Is what it is though! Nathan...
  6. Very nicely done! I'd say go with the A1/A3/ tornado specific sounds when you get the chance. Nathan...
  7. I must admit, I managed to wind up quite a few club members with the 73 sounds at my local club last week. The baby shark horn was the killer. I had it with F28 (AFC) enabled, I went out to the shop, came back to find it taken off the layout we were testing, and shelved on the non powered section of the fiddleyard... its the small things that give me amusement though, so I did find it funny that they kept getting annoyed with it... Nathan...
  8. No questions stupid! So the sounds on the decoder from the offset are the generic ones, however the B12 ones are nothing alike those, so you'll have nothing to worry about. Nathan...
  9. I use the sounds for my J27 and they seem to be likeforlike from my view. Nathan..
  10. Great to see it'll fit the 14! Just waiting for the 37 sounds to drop before I commit to a fifth decoder! Nathan...
  11. Unfortunately not! The tender is too shallow for the power pack to be fitted inside. Same with the 31, too little space between the top of the PCb and the bodyshell. As for the magnadhesion, not idea why the uploader keeps putting my photos 180° out of orientation 🙄 Nathan...
  12. Two more added to the fold. Class 31, and J27(used B12 sounds) 31 has had the speaker placed on the non fan end just under the PCB, and the J27 in its own dedicated speaker enclosure under the weigh section. Nathan...
  13. So, popped into the visitor centre on my way back from Rye, bit out of the way granted, but free rail travel helps, and picked up another two decoders and a powerbank. Noticed this though infront of the decoders... presumably they'd be using the purchasers login so that it's registered to them? Either way, I can do it myself so didn't plan on spending a tenner extra to get preloaded sounds... Nathan
  14. Good to see they're proving popular! I must ask though... what sounds have you used for your European models?? Nathan...
  15. Cracked it with the Bachmann 08! Managed to make it all fit, just!!! 08839 was the test subject. Speaker has been placed alongside the decoder socket, and the chip, cables to the top, at the very front of the bodyshell. https://youtu.be/wLJRwaSPKFc I've uploaded a video to YT to showcase the loco running on Bluetooth. Nathan....
  16. Fingers crossed! However I think that it's an, if anything, unnoficial fix for the time being at least... We'll just have to wait and see, but for now, I've gone to the trouble of making a note on my phone so that I won't forget when the next decoder install comes round (probably in a few days- week now I've got to grips with it!) Nathan..
  17. Finally broken through with the issues I've been having !! One of the many (42) comments on the Hornby ad for the app on Facebook came up trumps. The gentleman in question managed to get his 73 to work using the below method. I've used it this evening and managed to get my 73 working, and 46225 Duchess of Gloucester too! Download sounds don't take off the track import function map update cv list then power cycle Hope this helps people! Nathan...
  18. Ooh lovely! I may have to give this setup a try in the future... once the ill eeffects that the app is giving me have subsided! Nathan..
  19. Jenny, I'm gonna have to give this method a try. I've been at it since Tuesday trying to get an 8pin and 21pin loaded up, and not had any luck. Touch wood this may sort it out!! Nathan..
  20. You've definitely had lady luck on your side then! Haha!!! I've just spent from 2100-2250 trying again at home this time, with the 73 again, to no avail, and also a Hornby Duchess (46225) and the latter responded initially to the pre loaded sound set. The minute I loaded the stander Pacific sound set to the decoder, cycle completed, bang - soundset could not be loaded. Tried this three times then attempted to reinstall the preloaded sounds, again with the same message... I must ask, what system/ PSU have you been using? I've been using my Lenz setup on my "programming plank" this evening, and it's gotten me wondering if I'd have better luck trying with the Hornby DC controller turned to full whack, and the standard PSU that cones with it... thoughts? Nathan...
  21. Annoyingly, I didn't. As soon as I realised it wasn't going to fit at all, I took it all apart and stuck the original decoder back in it, and boxed it back up. Nathan
  22. So, I took my two decoders to the club rooms today to have a play about. 8pin definitely doesn't fit in a Bachmann 08, regardless of removing the lead weight, so that scuppered that one. The 21pin fitted nicely into my newer release Dapol 73, speaker enclosure was the largest possible and even had room for the stay alive powerbank too. App on a friend's phone connected to the decoder fine, and all was going well till the sound file install. Five attempts and it wouldn't load. Not sure if it was the fact that the layout it was sat on had a LOT of stock running at the time, but after two and a bit hours I gave up the ghost and took the decoder out. I'll likely give it another try at home. Anyone else had this issue at all??? Nathan...
  23. Somehow managed to not post this photo, but I took my 16" hunslet to the local club last week, paired up with a pair of Hattons Genesis coaches and boy do they look the part! Just waiting on works and name plates from Narrow Planet now. I've decided to finish it as No.3507, which was one of the few exported to Peru. Ironically, I'd settled on the name Overlord before figuring which works no. to do, as much as people would have said "call it Paddington"... Now to get the supplied loco crew painted up and fitted. Nathan...
  24. Well, I bit the bullet lastnight and ordered two power banks, and a 21pin, and 8pin sound decoder. Used my loyalty points to knock £81.43 off the total bill, plus my club discount, took it down to about £68ish, so less than the cost of the 21pin decoder. Now a waiting game for the app to appear on the play store, and for them to arrive... oh and figure out what to put the decoders into...
  25. Club night tonight saw a few of my collection of Genesis's (genesi??) Go for a spin on our test track. LNER 4coach pack paired up with Sonic' A5, and two LBSCR 4wheelers paired with Rapido's Small Hunslet. Defo looked the part paired with it though. Nathan...
