Person was on the canopy roof, didnt climb up the train. Got access via the station some how and tried to get on the roof of 1P72 just after arrival at 1:40am. As he got on the roof of the carriage he got zapped. Was on Ipswich Panel when the emergency call came in. It got worse as we then had to have all the ohle turned off asap which meant hale st. To norwich including crown point was turned off and no trains were permitted to move untill BTP were satisfied with the scene. Downside was, the poor person couldn't be moved until they were "extinguished" by fire and rescue and that took a LONG time. subsequent delays to today's services mai ly came from the lack of train movements to and from C.point. 755338 5Q46 failed for me 3 times between ipswich platform 3 and east Suffolk jn at 5am with multiple speedo failures so was a busy night all round. thanks

I've had to use it a few times during failed train situations. Wrong direction moves are becoming quite common these days, mainly down to the Basils, as we will suggest it as the quickest way to remedy the situation and control will agree as they dont want passengers sat in the trains overly long since the 745 fiasco. Not looking forward to going into work tonight......

The downsides to them.....the bing-bong everytime the doors opened and closed while we waited at Liv.St. was really annoying and the fact they only have 4 toilets whereas the hauled sets had 18origionally and about 9 by the time they were altered. Trying to take my 2 kids to the toilet was a mission when half the bloody train was queued for them. Lack of bins was another and then they put vestibule seats right next to them so when someone is sat on them you cant use the bin. Need a few more trips to better understand them.

I assumed the 37 heading out of colchester was 37611 as that's been the one stabled for the duration so far and heard that 37800 was the failed one but it was passing us at quick speed and didnt clock the number so the statement above is probably right. I think it's due to axle weights but not sure. Thanks

I tend to go very quiet and red in the face, or run around shouting at stuff when things like this happen. My smart watch tends to warn me of my rapidly rising heart rate too Jokes aside, its controlled chaos really with most of the phones ringing constantly and depending on whether it's happened on an NX panel or an MCS workstation, depends on how many can 'work' together on each area at once. MCS tends to be a 1 man only job whereas an NX panel can be triple manned if its particularly bad.

I think that's meant to be network rail staff (NWR). The signallers go through alot of stress is situations like this, plus the signalling shift managers. Then you have the MOMs and RIOs who manage the site on the ground who liaise with Control, BTP and also the signallers, while maintaining the safety of everyone venturing onto the track.

It's been there since 9:15! All the passengers are still on it and land sheriffs have had to attend the scene to stop people forcing the doors open and leaving the train. To make things worse, the 37 tried to couple up, messed it all up and caused an air leak, so tried a different coupler and it wouldn't work. So not sure what the plan is next but a train from Liv St. is being prepped to go and help remove the passengers. This is getting worse as the days go by. Not looking forward to work tomorrow
