  1. I think you are correct. Would have to ask the Thetford w/s signaller to clarify it, but we have a similar situation at Westerfield (difference being a cctv crossing). We have a "non stop" function we can click on to get an early call for the barriers to go down so that intermodals don't get checked down on approach to westerfield in the up direction. When the Felixstowe passenger approaches it it doesn't activate the barriers until it stops in the station. Its all controlled automatically via the headcodes but we can override it. Take care
  2. Apologies, it does! My SSM thought it didn't and I wasn't sure. We havent used it over here at Colchester yet (might explain why i can't find a NR3190 anywhere) and TBW hasn't been put in for around 7 years. Its like a cross between TBW, single line working and pilot working, with less staff on the ground. Thanks
  3. Unit hasn't commenced commissioning runs yet, so until then it will be dragged. Until the 'seal' has been officially removed, it won't be driven kind of situation. Cheers
  4. Morning. ESW doesn't require a ticket and to get trains moving as soon as possible, it uses boards at the lineside to tell you when it begins and finishes, TBW has a ticket and no boards. Cheers Edit* ESW also requires less staff on the ground and puts more responsibility on the signaller.
  5. yep, massive job as well. The entire concrete slab is being taken out and a completely new foundation and facility will be fitted in its place. Its not been the same since a coach derailed on approach to it and the carriage took out the washer and a few OHL stanchions. Thanks
  6. Yes they aren't the easiest front end to clean. We have an ex BTP and a Special Constable working in the box here now and both have said that if and when these incidents happen, they may get classed as 'complicated situations' due to the shape of the nose of the train and most BTP officers don't have the necessary training yet. I foresee clean up times becoming longer than 90mins. Thanks
  7. 1P45 has been involved in a fatality on approach to colchester around CO1176 signal under Ipswich Road over Bridge. The first 745 to unfortunately be involved in one. Situation has now been dealt with. Thanks
  8. 755330 rescued 745002 from the low level today and took it to crown point. Bet it made for an interesting snake over all the points work. Thanks
  9. Good point, probably shouldve gone on the cess side. Most of the photographers we saw at all the CCTV crossings were cess so would've made for a better photo I noticed it from roof as it went by but couldnt see what it said. Take care
  10. Morning all. We have today a little gem consisting of possibly the last remaining DVT - 82107 - leaving the mid norfolk, now, heading for Leicester as 5Q59 via Crown point and the GE, due through 13:42, ips 14:06 and colchester @ 14:25 this afternoon. 37611 is at the helm. Pictures if I can. Also hoping to do a run round in Trowse Lopp if he doesnt require crown point. Thanks
  11. In the absence of @beast666065Q42 745104 stanstead Express test train, Liv St - Crown Point with 3 755s in the background forming the 5T01, 5D66 and 2E82. Thanks
  12. NNOooooo you're the biggest contributor to this thread. Youre our unofficial photographer! Hahaha You add the pictures and info to the tip offs I provide! (When I'm on shift anyway!) Just ignore it, best not to let it get to you..... Take care
  13. We have no idea why. They have to terminate at Colchester as they arent permitted to carry passengers passed here unless working a service to sudbury only. Yes they have been to London and back on 5Qxx runs but no news as to why yet. Thanks
  14. Was terminated as it was a 755 and they arent permitted to pass Marks Tey yet.
  15. Yep, just confirmed on the GSM-r its 47812. Going to drag 2W06 from Wrabness to Crown Point.
  16. Failure 3 of 4 was 745007 1P00 Ips-Nor. PA failure so went 5P00 to Nor Low-level. Failures 1 and 2 were door faults on 755s at norwich early this morning. Thanks
  17. Morning all. 4 failures today so far and it's only 08:15! Current failure is 2W06 on the up Harwich. 1Z99 is in the refuge siding at Manningtree warming up ready to go wrong road all the way to Wrabness on the Up. Dont no which 37 it is but the unit is 755411. Thanks
  18. GA didnt get the recommended software package which led to a lot of gremlins, coupled with (no pun intended) a few hardware issues which you'd expect with a new fleet. I was very sceptical of them before they arrived, but they're turning out to be very nice units....when they work Thanks
  19. Yep pretty much. On board Fitter bodged it enough to get it to Shenfield, de-trained and non stop back to norwich. I put 1Z99 into Manningtree Refuge siding just before my break. Poor has to triple shunt to get into that siding as theres no interlocking from the up main @CO268 to the siding. madness. Thanks
  20. We have a failure!! 745002 has thrown its toys out the pram in Goodmayes, 1Z99 on it's way already. Dont know the loco number yet but once it comes past the window I'll update. Loco is 47812. Thanks
  21. Was stabled in Norwich as there was no space in the yard at Ipswich without blocking it in with 86's. When its stabled after a Walsham turn, GB can use it as a rescue loco for their own trains but cant rescue anything if its blocked in by freightliner. Thanks
