  1. I am sure discounting will happen. Just got to be patient.
  2. It's a nice model. But that cab door handle surround jars. The printing of the number isn't great but it could just be that model. I don't think I will be rushing out to get one I have a feeling Bachmann will be dropping another batch and they will be competitively priced.
  3. Am hoping for my 56019 from trains4u. Thanks again for your service
  4. I used to drive that unit when it was in thar colour. I always thought it looked smart. Pleased it survived the 321 cull and became a parcels unit
  5. I will have to have a look in my spares box. I may have some grilles, which Hattons sent to me in error.
  6. Which is exactly why we do running brake tests. To get the feel of the train. Do the brakes bite well. ? Is the speed coming down as you anticipate it? If it isn't you can then take action, reduce your speed brake earlier and warn the relief driver that the train is not braking how your experience says it should
  7. Loved Hattons. I remember when you could get photocopied lists of there stock sent through the post in the 1980s. My first Mail order purchases were through them, and again when I started up the hobby again Hattons were the first on the list of who to buy from. I have even had other odds and ends from them not railway related. I hope that the employees who will be looking for jobs will find employment in the meantime.
  8. Running brake tests are compulsory on our company and every download from the data recorder it is checked if it has been carried out. The same applies to Brake tests when a train is put together or has been stabled as a train in a yard and then the loco shut down, a brake test will be recorded by the data recorder
  9. I have used laseglaze on the front windows of a Hornby 60. Absolutely awesome
  10. I think they will sell well on the basis of the fact that they are producing liveries that will sell well.
  11. 56001 to 56030 were Romanian 56031 to 56115 were Doncaster built 56116 to 56135 were crewe built as Doncaster were tasked with building 58s There were of course lots of detail differences in addition to this.
  12. Great Book ordered it via crecy and have already got half way through. Well done you deserve a rest after all that research. I am hoping that in time someone will write as detailed a book about the 86s that you have done for the diesel locomotives
  13. I haven't had to do that job, but I understand that the grease used in the gear towers can congeal and jam them up
  14. Definitely the right one for kernow to do given its longevity in blue. Really looking forward to this one
  15. Okay I have done a little bit of research through my records and these 2 came up. I believe that they are the only other 86/4 locos which carried blue.
  16. I really do like this Limited edition. It's a nice item to do. Hopefully Heljan will do an 86/3 circa 1985 like 86325 or maybe 86316
  17. Would like the steel on steel DB loco. Think that would be a good one to do. And 60081 as that's one that's topical now having received a repaint recently
  18. I remember seeing 86432 about this time also in BR blue. I don't think that many 86/4s were BR blue
  19. Yes exactly that, No big strip down and rebuild anymore. This method works just as well and in theory they are back out earning money for their owners nice and quickly
  20. 90018 and 90040 definitely worth a look, The rest probably too expensive to put right.
