  1. Just do as they have asked (rather than inferring on here you know better), their service department has a good reputation.
  2. Meanwhile German friends have been in touch with us today to express their supportive thoughts. The EU have been respectful too. We have been shown more good grace by many nations, maybe more than we should.
  3. My spideysenses tell me there's a good likelihood there will be a further variation produced, not just the nameplate difference.
  4. I would have if I'd had the info in time.
  5. There's no enforced mourning here, I just found the unpleasant and inopportune anti-monarchy comments by a very small minority as ill-timed and disrespectful - that's what got somebody removed.
  6. When the news broke at lunchtime yesterday regarding the concerns I feared the worst, especially with the family gathering, but I was still taken aback by the news at 6.30, especially so soon after the cheerful pictures from two days ago - still carrying out her service to the role. It was a punch, one that brought home that this was a moment in history; a very sad one. No matter what we have thought of our political leaders, how concerned we were about the future with Covid and so on there was always a seemingly invulnerable constant; our Queen. A queen who harmed no-one and was prepared to serve everyone within the role as monarch; she was 'our' Queen. I also thought of those who have served her and the country and what they have done in protection of her realm. The changes she saw, the changes she didn't resist and changes she helped happen. It's right that people have striven for equality, all whilst our Queen showed that she has probably been our greatest monarch ever; we had the world's greatest 'statesman' all along. Yes; it hurts but as the Queen said after 9/11, "Grief is the price we pay for love." The forum has a black header bar as a mark of respect which will remain until after the funeral. I did cock things up slightly in the rush so Gold and Premium users may see ads but there's an instruction at the top of every page for those users. Someone thought they would be clever last night with anti-monarchy comments; it really isn't the time to do so and it lacks respect for others so I will make it clear that if anyone else tries that access to the site will be removed.
  7. The Accurascale ones are more authentic with appropriately coloured uniforms and style of cap/jacket etc. They are not painted; it's self-coloured resin and although more muted than the Preiser figures look less cheap and nasty.
  8. This will be addressed tomorrow, it's a by-product of instituting the black header. In the meantime you should be able to select the Premium theme from the Themes link at the bottom of the page.
  9. They won't; they're a spare for the chaldron waggons. I'll look at replacing Hornby's rubbish on the Rocket set.

    Price cap

p/kWh on electricity will vary by region but should be around 6.5% higher than the current rates. In the West Mids this equates to just over 30p/kWh for elec and gas should be a national rate around 15.75p/kWh.* In simple terms that's around 5 times more than we were paying for those commodities 20 years ago. * Dependent on payment methods.
  11. Shall we start the fingerprints on backscenes debate? That's not the public for starters.
  12. He's overwhelmed at the variety of stock on the layout and came over a bit funny. ;)
  13. Different people altogether - having met both.
  14. Is there a word for the smell of burning flesh from a soldering iron?
  15. Although there was WiFi (which worked) I connected to 4G without problem several times (although I did find one dead spot), it will depend on the network of course (I'm on giffgaff which uses O2). As for that report the bloke obviously left his common sense at home as it sounded he'd got no means to pay for anything except via his phone (ignored comments about cashpoints in the area). How he was going to spend a £1,000 on his phone was beyond me. He just wanted to be a crybaby on Facebook (which hugely backfired) and to keep trotting out an offensive phrase about the desk staff. The customer is not always right (sorry Mr. Selfridge).
  16. It's superb; did you get to feel the weight of it?

    J94 in O gauge

This is hugely impressive and superb value, seen at Guildex.
  18. No, certainly not for users. I'm not managing and maintaining that.
  19. Sadly not with the way Invision's platform is structured;: it's all via the software, I can't even FTP files onto the storage.
  20. It's not ideal (because the chronology would be warped) but the original post could be quoted and the images uploaded into an edit of the quote.
  21. I wouldn't say I'm typical, I may even be illogical in that if a manufacturer produces an item I'd willingly have (as none of us really have a 'need') I will only buy the item if if I like the business and the people running it. So there are some companies where I just disregard their output and I'm on a long term Weatherspoons and Ryanair boycott. ;)
