The London Festival of Railway Modelling- 21 & 22 March 2020
AY Mod replied to BRMExhibitions's topic in Exhibitions
All the ones I know of or can think of have more negatives than the People's Palace. Normally location, followed by eye-watering costs. -
Maybe you can explain the relevance of the topic title and I really hope you've not landed here to fire off poorly-aimed rants.

I shouldn't have been as restrained with my earlier post -
You missed the cut-off noted in the OP. It has reminded me to close it off though as it hadn't done it as per the timer.

Why do you always have to make such sneery comments? A simple observation would suffice. Yes, it appears slow to load some pages at present (there are heavier loads than usual at the moment) but I'm not going to expend too much time on it today. -
Fine by me, I've been keeping an eye on things here for 5406 days on the trot and I'm a bit tired.

Expanded/condensed not working anymore for me
AY Mod replied to Miss Prism's topic in Forum Rules, Notices, Faults & Help
Bizarre, nothing has been changed which should impact that. I'm in condensed view and it won't change to expanded. I'll have to look at it next week when I'm back at work. -

Apart from sorting out a few server performance issues, deal with some people who felt that their freedom of speech had been trampled upon despite them being unable to work within directions plus prepare voting for awards and get Hornby's announcements for next prepared we haven't had to do anything over the holiday. -

Similarly I am sure that your earlier invitation to post comments of dissatisfaction with how the system operates did not mean you expect someone to carry out unnecessary work over a holiday period. -

Sorry, it's far from straightforward. -

It's not whether it's satisfactory or not, it's the way the software does it now. I'm not going to spend unnecessary time making a penny farthing out of a mountain bike. -

I've explained before that a post number within the topic is useless if any content has been removed or topics merged/split. Just use the share icon to give a direct link to a post - that will then embed a preview of the linked post. -
Outside the conventional catalogue and traditional toy and hobby market Hornby are creating a separate range under the nostalgic Bassett-Lowke branding to appeal to the currently popular Steampunk genre. At the December press event a presentation was given to show the range, the slides for which are shown below.

I wouldn't disagree in general. Sometimes a cover shot is selected for impact and cropped to suit, it would've been a shame to discard the full version of that shot though given the amount of time taken to Photoshop around the overheads.

A BRMA title is something which many of the manufacturers and retailers hope to pick up each year as recognition from the wider modelling community for their efforts. They don’t necessarily design or produce to win an award but it’s funny how many people are interested to see how they’ve performed when the results are due out and we even saw the logo and gold medal on a further issue of a manufacturer’s product during this year. All manufacturers who have released any ready-to-run products between the 1st January and the 31st December each year automatically have the products, and themselves, added to the voting list in the relevant categories for N, OO and O gauge locomotives and rolling stock. The voting will open at beginning of January but before that comes the nominations stage, a bit like the Oscars do it. This year’s entries will see some interesting trends with possibly fewer locomotives but more passenger and freight rolling stock in the equation, new manufacturer names rising up and even possibly some upsets in a few categories. The poll is open until 26th January 2020. When the voting is complete in the New Year we check all the results and publish full results showing just how many people voted for every entry making the BRMA the most transparent and valued of awards when the results are announced at the end of the winter. Select your favourite item from each category, you do not have to vote in all categories. There is only one vote permitted per person. Vote here
