  1. There's no truth in the rumour linking the DJM collapse to that of Thomas Cook.
  2. There is and it should happen automatically. If you leave a topic (for whatever reason) and return to that topic and click in the text entry box it should retain what you'd previously typed in (but not submitted).
  3. Whilst we were at Warley club's open day a local TV channel, Birmingham TV, were also producing content to go out on their digital channel before the show. Let us know if you find when anything goes out and whether it appears on their website - https://www.birminghamlocal.tv Phil caught up with the presenters, They certainly seemed to enjoy their day filming! We will be having prize draws for new subscribers on the BRM stand all weekend - stand A22 - more info here.
  4. Don't worry, I'll make sure you're aware when someone complains when you do it again. I'm not getting sucked into responding in detail to your points.
  5. Somewhat uncharitable I'd say when you're not a stranger to needling some yourself.
  6. Breaking news; we are receiving signals from outer space, or somewhere up north. We will have an additional, and rather special, extra layout at the show this year.
  7. Back at Warley club's open day I had a chat to Paul Jones about putting the country's largest show on... We will be having prize draws for new subscribers on the BRM stand all weekend - stand A22 - more info here.
  8. What errors are you referring to? Rather than just make some cheap sweeping statement at least have the decency and clarity to highlight any areas of concern. Some people...

  10. **O GAUGE ANNOUNCEMENT** As promised, HELJAN is announcing a new O gauge diesel at the Modern Image O Gauge (MIOG) show in Rawtenstall. Appropriately for a show in the north-west of England, it's a class that was closely associated with that area. Our popular English Electric Type 4/Class 40 is back by popular demand, but this time as the centre headcode variant, as seen on the last 55 members of the class (D345-399). Design and tooling work was completed recently and the first running samples will be delivered to the UK for testing in early-November. Five liveries will be available from mid-2020, covering the entire BR career of the class. The models will feature a ‘DCC Friendly’ chassis, LED lighting, a heavy duty chassis with twin motors and flywheels and fine detail specific to these later-built EE Type 4s. #4060 BR green 'as delivered' unnumbered #4061 BR green (small yellow panels) unnumbered #4062 BR green with full yellow ends unnumbered #4063 BR blue with full yellow ends and headcode display unnumbered #4064 BR blue 40155 with 'domino' headcodes Prices will be confirmed shortly.
  11. How pragmatic! I do wonder if some of them shout at pigeons in the park too with their demands. I must forward you the email I've had remonstrating about his comparatively niche interest not being taken seriously enough. I did suggest that he create his own poll for that but that wasn't what he meant apparently.
  12. Before the poll reaches its close I'd like to compliment Brian on his ongoing politeness in the face of repeated utterances from those who don't read what has gone before. And he's got to spend half of next week reading responses to the final questions from the hard of understanding!
  13. Oi! I didn't take those! Actually there is a relevant point I have mentioned to Bachmann that under studio lighting there iare often fine particles visible under magnification which image processing makes more visible than they may be when viewed with the naked eye. It's more evident on black surfaces and I've often had to do some 'digital dusting'.
  14. A shame! A nice bloke who was always happy to chat at service halts. Happy memories of cold forests through the years, he was always a bit of a favourite of mine even through the lure of the Group B spectaculars.
  15. I can do that but I've got a much more creative idea I'll run past Simon when he's further on with the layout if he'll have me and my contraptions back again!
  16. Preview opening date, Saturday 7 December 2019 AIMREC, Unit 2, Elwick Place, Elwick Road, Ashford, Kent TN23 1AE
  17. No, can't see any potential problems with that.
  18. No, but he could fit two average village hall shows in the operating well. Or a couple of artic trailers. Simon, you could solve the backscene by having a couple of curtain-siders with a panorama on them and leave 'em in there for loading up at the end of the show.
  19. A little later than intended as it's quite lengthy. Thanks to Simon for giving us a tour of Heaton Lodge. There's more frost in the garden this morning than on the layout!
  20. It's not often you go to photograph a layout and be given the produce of the location of the layout. Thanks Joe!

@Phil Parker is currently seeking owners of cake factory layouts on this basis.

I've got some Worthy white shield, but being as it was forecast a cold night, I felt a winter warmer was certainly more appropriate!  Thanks for popping over Andy, was good to see you. Catch you soon ☺

I looked online and sadly they did not have that in their shop.

  21. Bit you have asked this above - There's nothing wrong with this It contains a complete sentence without the surplus exclamation and finishes with a courtesy. It's very much the same vein as Brian's responses to people. Just use some politeness, please don't claim to be victimised though for something which is not reasonably evident to others.
  22. Be prepared for some hoop-jumping if you pre-ordered on Rapido's site. The website has changed since early preorders and the accounting software so it wouldn't accept my original login. Roslyn has been very helpful in changing the billing address etc and noting the change to PayPal as the payment method (as their new cart has a minimum value of $CAN100). I can't pay up yet though until the accountant raises the invoices. If you haven't already ordered I would suggest it will be a lot simpler to do it via Rails.
  23. Marston Green to the north and Hampton-in-Arden to the south are the best bet. I think both are free parking but you need to be early. Gutted that the Express parking I used opposite Hall 5 last year is already booked up, it helped me avoid the end-of-Saturday traffic bunfight.
  24. Do you know if any pre-orders placed with Rapido directly at the time of announcement will be fulfilled directly or are you handling those Oliver? Can't seem to login to the Rapido system, doesn't recognise any of my email addresses so I can't check that route.
  25. You don't need enough to cover the whole area, just enough to stick the sheets together. As Phil says look at cartridges such as 'Sticks like sh*t'.
