  1. Coincidentally. I called in, unplanned, yesterday and I was very impressed with the amount of stock held, particularly on the Woodland Scenics side. It's not quite where it says it is on Google maps, it's a few hundred yards further west. Prices were good and free parking on site.
  2. Channel 5 - Friday 20th September - 8.00pm - 9.15 pm From Radio Times SUMMARY Three teams of modellers are given three days to create masterpieces based on the theme of best-selling book. The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by TE Lawrence (aka Lawrence of Arabia) is the inspiration for the Scarborough Flyers, sci-fi fans the Rail Riders choose HG Wells' classic War of the Worlds as their muse, while Team Phoenix's layout is inspired by various tomes by the queen of crime, Agatha Christie. As usual presenters James Richardson and Tim Shaw are joined by expert judges Kathy Millat and Steve Flint.
  3. Channel 5 - Friday 13th September - 8.00pm - 9.15pm The Restless Earth From Radio Times "Television’s doomiest judges are back as the thoroughly good-natured competition returns. Steve Flint, editor of Railway Modeller magazine, and modelling expert Kathy Millatt take their duties with beetle-browed seriousness as they do their TV-judging thing, fretting if teams have enough time, if they’ve been too ambitious, and so on. But they can’t spoil the fun, and you don’t have to be an enthusiast to enjoy the esprit de corps and expertise of the teams taking part in the first heat of the new series: Corby Model Railway Society, Fancott Miniature Marvels and The Train Set. The latter is a bunch of biochemists whose day job is researching a cancer cure, but when the white coats come off they love to build model railways. They are, though, complete novices compared to their competitors. The theme of the round is “the restless Earth”. Cue disaster! SUMMARY Talented teams are tasked to build awe-inspiring miniature wonderlands against the clock, loaded with stunning scenery and spectacular animations, all to a different weekly theme and designed to impress expert judges Steve Flint and Kathy Millatt. Here, the first of eight gruelling, themed rounds sees `The Restless Earth' brought to life. Three teams of enthusiasts set about manufacturing a deluge of volcanoes, earthquakes and other small-scale natural disasters. Presented by James Richardson and Tim Shaw. 4. As the first episode of series 2 approaches on Friday 13th September - 8.00pm - 9.15pm I thought I'd set out the structure for topics in this sub-forum. I'll start a topic for each episode as they approach - the first episode topic is here - - this means that the discussion for each show can be grouped together. Any participants or teams are free to start separate topics for their layouts/involvement/experiences etc. if they wish to engage with the viewrs and readers.
  5. No, told myself I hadn't got time. So how come I've just bought a rather good Trumpeter Dakota kit from someone who appeared in the vid?
  6. Oh dear, not sure why that's truncated as the editing file is 10 minutes longer! It will take about 7 hours to re-render and upload the full version which should have another ten minutes at the end. I shall just do the missing portion and upload it here later.
  7. The Pocketmags version appears to have to two of Page 56 at present. I have attached a pdf of Page 55 which is missing which features decorating brickwork with coloured pencils and mixing paint as part of the techniques feature. page_55.pdf
  8. That's a bug that can happen when someone edits a blog or gallery entry from the earlier date. Still not fixed by Invision.
  9. NO! Your earlier post was removed for breaching forum rules and then you try and make out you are not the seller and try and draw attention to your listing. That's a major black mark and if you do anything like it again I will remove your access to the site.
  10. Except he has. He has provided information on the GT3 tooling so butt out with the stirring please.
  11. Useless to you maybe but it will give significant enjoyment to others.
  12. It's online only as it was only signed off on Monday. The DVD gets completed at a much earlier date.
  13. This month's digital issue features a 40min video look behind the scenes at Bachmann on a container arrival day.
  14. With eyes full of interest and wonder, I bet he could spend ages talking through all the bits with you. Maybe worth exhibiting at pre-school rather than some shows when you see the grumpy Saturday-morning faces?
  15. Nice to see the Westernisation of Little Bytham here. Westerns and Warships next please; but I expect that would get as warm a reaction as 'Diesels on Pendon' did last year from some quarters!
  16. Bachmann have produced a rather good video of the Western Pullman in action and explanations of the features. There's a bit of overlap in content with regard to functions but I also took a look at the lights and sounds for the review in this month's BRM.
  17. I think more people have been paying closer attention to this of late. When we have a members' day I circulate the policy around the team and would quite happily forward to exhibitors if requested (no one ever does!) for peace of mind. However, I may only arrange it a few days prior once I know the values are unlikely to change. Magnet just take all the relevant info from me and email a copy of the policy straight out. I wouldn't see anything untoward in asking an exhibition manager for a copy of the policy for peace of mind but it may be a bit last minute! We do take a lot on trust within the hobby.
  18. I think the conspiracy theories on security may be going a bit far and I do think that the OP probably hasn't furnished anyone with enough information to be more specific in their responses. I know that if someone has subscribed to receive emails from Hattons and/or made purchases and agreed to updates then emails may get sent which are specific to stated interests or even allied to similar purchases or interests shown. I know I get plenty from ebay/Amazon etc that relate to things I may have been browsing and that goes further than anything I've ever seen from Hattons. On that basis I think any suggestions of bad practices are inappropriate and suggestions of phishing are probably a wild goose chase. The sensible thing to do would, as someone who I would say is on their email database, is to contact Hattons for any specific clarification rather than jumping onto a public forum inferring that there is something untoward. If the OP hasn't returned within 24 hours of the initial posting I'll close it off to save anyone wasting time on it.
  19. Have you contacted Hatton's to establish further information?
  20. I've had to go through numerous posts and remove images which are a breach of copyright. Please use links to images and do not copy and upload to our server.
