  1. Just got my wagons today and thought that I would take a few down to the club tonight. The wagons not only look really good, but ran really well and negotiated all the point work that was given to them without any problems. Now, what about weathering them?!? Cheers Jeremy
  2. Euxton Junction was back in the clubroom last night after an excellent weekend and it was back to work again today. Many thanks to Steve and his team from WMRC who made us feel really welcome and put on a great exhibition. We were surprised, but pleased, to receive an award for the layout which added to the overall weekend. Looking forward to returning next year with another layout. Cheers Jeremy
  3. Euxton Junction is now back and reassembled in our clubroom after a great weekend away at Newark Showground. The layout ran well and the show seemed really friendly with lots of modellers with similar interests. We had good chats with all the layouts around us (Weaver Hill, Penna Lane and Loch Tat, and many more across the two halls. We'd like to congratulate Chris and his team for putting on a great show and being most hospitable. We were also surprised and really pleased to win an award for most prototypical layout. Cheers Jeremy
  4. Euxton Junction all set up and ready for tomorrow. Looking forward to a great weekend. Cheers Jeremy
  5. We are looking forward to bringing our main club layout "Euxton Junction" (note not Euston Road) to this exciting new show. Euxton Junction is Preston & District Model Railway club's 4mm layout based on the West Coast Main Line just south of Preston. It's based on the prototype junction near Euxton Station and features the split to Bolton/Manchester and 4 track Overhead Electrification on the fast and slow lines. Its typically set around 2005 +/- about 5 years, although there may be the odd "special". Hopefully a couple of photos below give a good idea. Please stop by and say hello or ask any questions that you might have. Cheers Jeremy
  6. Just got back from the SEC and Great Endon is now back in my garage. Myself and my operators all had a great weekend and many thanks to Ian and his team for putting on a fantastic show, this doesn't happen without a lot of hard work behind the scenes. It was good to be next to Mick Bryan and his folks to see New Bryford's last show and have a little bit of Lancashire in Glasgow between us. It was also nice to say hello to many friends and good to make some new ones. I look forward to coming back next year either with a layout, or as a normal visitor, its always a great trip out. Thanks again Jeremy
  7. Really looking forward to seeing you and Sandiacre at DEMU Showcase the weekend after next. Cheers Jeremy
  8. Very disappointing for all involved, however given the distance and locations that traders and exhibitors were coming from, it made sense. Hopefully the financial side will not be too bad. Cheers Jeremy
  9. Hi Nick, As well as Banbury mentioned above, there is Troutons which is current era (I believe), and my layout Great Endon which is set around 2005 (or so!). Look forward to seeing you. Cheers Jeremy
  10. Hi John, Sorry for that, I've now amended the post to the correct spelling. That's the joy of copying from the website. I'll mention it to the webmaster to see if they can amend your layout name there also. Looking forward to seeing your layout. Cheers Jeremy

  16. Thanks for taking the time out from operating Summat Colliery to talk about Rail Grinder and show it to me. You have done a good job so far and it runs really well. I'm looking forward to getting my kit and getting the soldering iron out! Cheers Jeremy
  17. I will be at Doncaster with Alderford and would really like to see the Rail Grinder in action. I'll pop over and say hello. Cheers Jeremy
  18. Suggest that you take the opportunity to put some weight inside the frame before you solder it up. I know someone who wished they had done that. I used some scrap lead in mine, it will improve the running of the final wagon. HTH Cheers Jeremy
  19. Hi Pete, They have been a long time coming, however at long last, I've managed to complete my pair of Arlington coaches, which were on display on Great Endon last weekend at Wigan. Now just got to complete a few more projects.... Cheers Jeremy
  20. It's interesting to think about the point that you have made in your post. I agree that Pete's done a great job of solving your problem. What made me think though, was whether this is a way forward for the future. Will manufacturers make their spares available via 3D printing and if you needed something, you would just order it from Shapeways or the like? I recognise that some spares need to be made of specific materials to do their job, and others would be better painted but for many parts this could be a good way forward, with the manufacturers not having to hold any stocks of their spares as they would just be printed out by users when they needed them. Food for thought. Cheers Jeremy
