  1. I appreciate that Accurascale have gone to the trouble on 37402 to recreate the different buffers at each end which is amazing attention to detail. (Thank you!) However all the photos that I can see show the more rounded buffers at the fan/nameplate end, whereas on the models that same end seems to have the squarer buffers. Ironically googling for images of the model shows one image on the Hattons website that looks correct, however I've tried swapping the body around and it only fits one way. Can anyone point me to any pics that show the squarer buffers at the fan/nameplate end? All the ones that I can find look like this with the rounder buffers at the fan end: https://www.flickr.com/photos/126693116@N06/48316458916/sizes/h/ or am I just going bonkers?!? Any help appreciated! Cheers Jeremy
  2. I'd hope to see the N-gauge 319 expanded to OO scale before long. I'm surprised we haven't seen this already as the 'little ones' look really good. Cheers Jeremy
  3. I just spent two days with my TPE Mk5 set going around our Euxton Junction layout at the Preston Exhibition. I've used the Westhill Wagon works coupling between the loco and coaches and it works very well both pulling and propelling. Hopefully linked below is a very short video taken during testing prior to the exhibition: TPE Set running fast through Euxton Junction Station Cheers Jeremy
  4. Hi Mark, Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Yes, its was always busy out the front of Euxton Jnct. If you really want to see Alderford again, it's out in three weeks at Alexander Palace in London. Cheers Jeremy
  5. Exhibition Bus Services There is a frequent bus service from Preston Bus Station using routes 19 & 19a (recommended) as well as 23 & 22 (which are the best if you are coming from the train station). From the No 22 service terminus at the the Royal Preston Hospital. and the No 23 service stop at the entrance to Sherwood Way it is a short walk to the Exhibition. The 19 and 19a stop right next to the college. For directions for Buses to The Exhibition from Preston Railway Station Click here Destination map.
  6. Thanks Phatbob for pointing this out, I've asked for the website to be updated. Now only two days to go until the exhibition, and only one until set-up tomorrow!! Safe travels everyone.

  12. Yes thanks, Great Endon was safely back in my garage near Preston by midnight. We enjoyed the show ad the friendly reception that we got. Thanks to all those who contributed to the exhibition. Cheers Jeremy
  13. After a long drive down from Preston, 'Great Endon' is all set up and ready to go. Looking forward to a good show, please feel free to stop by abd ask any questions or say hello. Cheers Jeremy
  14. Any news or announcements from ESU at the Nürnberg toy fair 2023? It would be good to understand where ESU are up to with the CabControl for UK/EU. Cheers Jeremy
  15. The clip is at the elbow of the pantograph and needs a finger nail or small flat screwdriver to gently prise it up until it clicks free, it doesn't need much force! The heads of the pantographs just clip back on, but you need to get the position and angle right. Look at some photos to see how they should look and gently clip back into place, best to support the upper arm of the pantograph as you do this. Hope this helps Jeremy
  16. Hi Paul, It's always useful to get another take on these lovely models. On point 2, I was pleased to see in my model of 92036 Bertolt Brecht that there are etched arrows and plaques in a separate accessory bag. Hopefully you have some too which will address this point. I do fully agree with point 7 though and think that the ability of the pan to sit level within the loading gauge and to also track the overhead wire properly are linked and need some looking at. As the pan head clips off and is a separate moulding this may make it easier to provide a fix or for us to amend. Hopefully spare pan heads will become available in due course. Cheers Jeremy
  17. Just an explanation to help anyone who might have the same issue that I did with my two Cl92s. As my main layout is down at the local club, I use an ESU LokProgrammer to test and run my locos on a short length of track. I've never had a problem with this, but with both the recently received Cl92s, when I tried to run them / check the sound / (play with them!), I found that when I used the LokProgrammer Drivers Cab function and clicked the green Go button, it immediately went back to red and did nothing. A quick e-mail to Bif of Leggomanbiffo sorted this and he explained that its due to the very small power of the Lokprogrammer tripping out and was probably the stay-alive capacitor inrush current that was tripping it. As he suggested, I repeated pressing the Go button 4-5 times, and sure enough, that was enough to put some charge into the capacitors and allow it to work as normal (It seems better if you set the loco on a very low speed). I was then able to run it up and down, play with the pantographs and the sound, all of which are really good. Its an amazing model! I hope that this helps someone who might think that there is an issue with their loco. Merry Christmas Jeremy
  18. For anyone interested in the neutral section function, (asked about a couple of pages ago) I think from memory that you need to have the loco going at least at 50% speed (eg step 14 out of 28) before you will get the sound of the fans cutting out and the breakers working. I did try to link this function to a hall sensor so that it would operate on our Euxton Junction layout from a small magnet in the track (just like the real things), but never got it quite right (maybe one for the future for Accurascale?). Hopefully I will get my two Cl92s working on the layout tomorrow evening, they look great just sat here and I can wait to see them hauling some good long trains. Cheers Jeremy
  19. Yes, Bif (legomanbiffo) can do this on his sound chips for push pull operations. He does a Cl47 and DBSO as standard as well as the Pendolino amongst others). I've a DBSO and Network rail Cl31 set up like this. The best chip to use is a Loksound 5 FX. Its got no motor control and is a bit cheaper than the Loksound 5 normal chip Cheers Jeremy
  20. Yes, it does: "Stable temperature conditions: more power when driving and charging The thermal management system aims to get the battery up to the ideal temperature range of around 30 degrees Celsius quickly after it is started and to keep it there until the end of the journey. This ensures that its full power – and therefore the power of the entire drive system – is available after a short time even in extremely cold conditions. Thanks to the stable thermal conditions, the driver can also call on it repeatedly or charge the battery at an HPC charging terminal with high output. The sophisticated thermal management system also gives the battery a long life cycle – Audi guarantees that it will still have at least 70 percent capacity after eight years of operation or after 160,000 kilometers." From https://www.audi-mediacenter.com/en/electric-suvs-in-the-premium-compact-segment-the-audi-q4-e-tron-and-the-q4-sportback-e-tron-13887/battery-thermal-management-and-charging-13902 What I can't tell, is whether the system will warm the battery whilst it is still plugged into the house whilst the cabin warms up.
  21. EVs come into their own in really cold weather. So long as you remember to turn on the heater via your phone app, 10 mins before you need it, you can get into a warm deiced car each time. Leave it plugged in overnight and you do not even impact the battery before you leave in your warm car. Yes, there may be a very slight reduction in range, but I've not noticed it yet. Jeremy
  22. I went to see Deadman's Lane today at Oswaldtwistle as I couldn't make Warley last weekend, and enjoyed the layout, the other layouts, traders and the great tea & cakes. and of course, chatting to Mick and his crew. Whilst it was quite busy earlier on, this is a picture taken at 4:15pm this afternoon, so it you want a really good view of Deadman's Lane you still have time to go tomorrow. (Bit quieter than Warley!!) Cheers Jeremy
  23. So I'm confused... I bought a Q4 at the end of 2021 which was more than £40k but due to being fully electric paid no 'Expensive car' tax. I've just had my first annual reminder to pay £0 annual road tax, however since the budget statement, it's not clear if from 2025 I will pay two years of 'Expensive car' tax after 2025 or whether it will somehow be back dated or apply earlier? I think I won't worry and will just wait and see what happens! After all there is nothing I can do! Cheers Jeremy
