  1. Hi all, I’m having issues with my digitrak 6 pin decoder. I’ve put it in the Hornby terrier and I can’t get cv 4 to have any effect on stopping distance. It takes a good 40 seconds for the loco to stop. changing cv 2 and cv 3 does have an effect, I have done a factory reset and also turned off dc mode. can anyone suggest anything? thanks
  2. I got a little note book as well, nice touch as you say. One disappointing thing that I need to speak to Hatton about, one of my wagons was missing the detail bag.
  3. Sorry about that, thought everyone was a mind reader....
  4. i have a colas 60 and so was on my list, would of been nice to have an evening star to go with it, i can wait for that though, there will be other sales i'm sure.
  5. Bagged my self a Hornby class 66 for £60. Had to settle for colas as all the other nice liveries are out of stock.
  6. Well I spoke to Hornby today, said send them the chip and they will take a look at it. Fingers crossed they can sort it out.
  7. Great idea, thank you for your input, I’ll give it a go tomorrow and report back,
  8. i've got a Hornby tts class 40 chip, i put it in my Kernow Bulleid and as such have had to play around with cv settings. I got it to a good point of running but i suspect the start voltage was not right as the loco only started to move when i got to 7-8 (28 speed step). I changed cv2=10 and since then i've not been able to do anything with the chip, the loco does not move, i can't read from the chip or set a cv value, i also can't reset the chip by setting cv8=8. Have i busted the chip?
  9. Sure I’ve read somewhere that occasionally they ventured into the southwest under lms days but I can’t find where I read it. i really do want the unstreamed line black lms version but given I model the south western region I’m really still just about holding off. Maybe I should use rule 1, it’s my layout and just get one because I like them.
  10. well turns out i was having a "moment". I turned the tender over and gentle pulled the sides of the tender away from the chassis, the chassis then fell away. it's almost like there where little lugs holding the body in place as well as the screws. What threw me was the fact the tender body was suppose to fall away. anyway all sorted.
  11. hi all, i'm having issues taking the tender of my LN. the tender body is stuck solid, there is no give or movement at all, it's almost like some numpty in the factory has put a beed of glue round the edge of the tender body and stuck it down. i have removed the visible screw, taken the rear bogie off and removed the hidden screw. is there anything else to remove? thanks
  12. Thanks for the heads up. Picked up my second Hornby mk3 network rail coach, nearly the full set now
  13. Not noticed that, makes me feel a little better (not much though).
  14. Those 37’s where £90 in the sale of the century, missed out on the colas because I sat debating whether to get one, by the time I had made my mind up they had all sold out!
  15. Thank you for the info, gives me something to go on now, at least I know what search for now.
  16. Hi all, do any run in the devon/dorset area? can't seem to find anything (granted no sure what to search on to be honest). i'm looking to model the hattons rhtt and my area is devon/dorset area. It's actually based in the 1930s>1940's but i run a very specific modern fleet which is GWR Class 800, FGW HST, FGW 153 and GWR Class 57 with a couple of mk3 sleepers. To go with the RHTT i've bought a class 66 in readiness thanks
  17. do any run in the devon/dorset area? can't seem to find anything (granted no sure what to search on to be honest). looking to model the hattons rhtt and my area is devon/dorset sorry ignore this question, just read the topic heading,i'll ask somewhere else on the forum.
  18. Well took the plunge and bought a Hornby class 66 in dB red off eBay for £47. Not typical for the area but along with the soon to be released hattons rhht I think it will do nicely
  19. I found the thread you mention and tried those settings, made no difference. The only setting that makes a difference so far is turning bemf off effectively by setting it to 1. However this now means speeds 1-10 do nothing, you can hear the motor starting but the loco does not move until you get to 11 (up to 28) Ta
  20. Sorry to track this back up. Had a play tonight using the cvs below and it made no difference. I changed cv10 to 1 and that cured it, however until I get to 10 (speed 28) the loco does not move. I can hear the motor starting to turn. Out of interest what do the cvs 151/152 do, read the Hornby TTS manual and it’s all foreign to me.
  21. I like the idea of doing something to do with infrastructure, something else to google now!
  22. Thank you for your suggestions, will give it a try tomorrow. I appreciate the class 40 sounds are different but they are close enough for me, I paid £30 for TTS chip so I can’t really complain or even start to compare it to the full fat £100 + chips out there. Slightly off topic but I bought the hst TTS chips not so along ago I and was really disappointed in them, think it’s the speakers to be fair, can’t say the same for the class 40 which is good.
  23. took the plunge today and bought a class tts chip. i've fitted it to the bullied using a 21>8 pin converter. the sound works well but i have a few questions 1: i assume i can't use the cab lights as the tts chip has no function for this 2: which speaker is best, the tts speaker or factory fitted from kernow 3:at slow speeds the running is very lumpy when using the tts chip. i have turned of back EMF but apart from that i don't really know what to play around with in terms of cv values. has anybody put the class 40 tts chip in and got any tips for smooth running? thanks
