  1. gentle wiggle the buffers off (they are not clued just push fit), 4 screws and the body just slides off, again give it wiggle. I picked one up on Wednesday, was torn between southern green and grey/blue (the colour looks somewhere in between). i went with grey but i have to say i'm wishing i went with green, abit more bold on the layout, grey gets lost. Nothing against the model which is great, well made, fab runner (so smooth), great detail, good weight. only thing i would say and its the same for most of the Kernow stuff, plastic buffers, i really wish they where metal, i'd rather metal and not sprung. I'll try and get some pics today

  4. Mine arrived today, only bought two as I wanted to see them first before buying more. One has warped walkways, the other is fine. have to say I’m not bothered, if did not read this thread I would not of gone looking nor spotted it. they are by far the best wagons I have, superior to AS stuff I have, these really need to get more recognition, but alas is does not have AS on the box.
  5. Hopefully mine is here tomorrow, had an email from Hornby to say it’s on its way, does look very good. I was tempted with Mallard until I saw in the display cabinet earlier in the week, really disappointed, nothing special at all.
  6. i wonder if they actually have it, i've got one on order with Hornby but no word of delivery yet
  7. i think its from the great gathering collection but essentially as she is now....good luck trying to find one though, sold out everywhere on pre-order. Hornby now and then bring them back into stock but it lasts only a few hours before they are out of stock again
  8. they have the full set of bluebell stations at more than 50% off, i picked up 3 items. The boss also said there is no time limit on the clearance, as long as the warehouse has them he will keep filling the shelves.
  9. Nothing wrong with Hornby’s. We go on about duplication and in some cases prototypes need a refresh, the hst is not one of them.
  10. why, they are great value. railroad + liveries are really good, and TXS is outstanding value. no other company does budget stuff, they are all chasing the premium market, so good on Hornby. someone had the class 55 TXS on a test track at my local shop on Tuesday, from 2 ft back and with the sound blasting it looked and sounded really good, i almost bought one but realised i can get it allot cheaper else where.

  12. all due respect, your not on the receiving end...its comments like this that add fuel to the fire....suggest we actually drop this now and move on.....AS and the original poster have
  13. Hi Fran, AS has a great presence on here, no one expects a response to everything nor an immediate response. The poster certainly did not, has clarified he did not. It's others jumping on, and i have to say was fuelled by Paul's response. if that was more measured this would not of blown up in the first place. Anyway time to move on to loco's :)
  14. I don't see what you did wrong...it certainly did not warrant the response(s) you have got, especially from AS. if i tag someone in its bring to their attention something I've written. Your tag was not rude, abusive, not did it demand a response or even acknowledgement, its up to the receiver of the tag to respond, they did in this instance but with something completely out of order. Others have said go to the AS's website for project updates, fair enough but when it suits AS post on here, especially with project updates etc so asking for clarification or a more detailed update is surely acceptable, AS don't have to respond by the way.
  15. unfortunate to hear such a long delay, not been a good couple of weeks for delays with projects, the 50, now this. Does mean i could now squeeze in a Deltic. Makes me wonder what is now filling the production slots?
  16. not sure if its been mentioned but they where put on the boat on the 16th, any time between Christmas and Jan, they suspect early Jan before they leave the warehouse out to shops
  17. heard one at my local shop on Tuesday, sounded really really good. flush glazing/lights and its a good model
  18. some good stuff at dcc supplies (graded) https://www.dccsupplies.com/product-category/graded-locomotives-rolling-stock/

  20. i was very impressed with the hst and class 50 striking the right balance on detail.regretting no pre-ordering a 50 whilst i had my discount (which has now lapsed)
  21. possibly a cock up, maybe they should of tested their product with something other than their decoder, that worries me more if that is the case. Either way a key bit of functionality does not work out of the box with other decoders, for non sound loco's i'd throw a spare decoder lying about into the loco and save my self £30, i'm sure i am not alone in this.
  22. am i the only one to find this completely bonkers. the model is sold as having a stay alive but unless you buy their decoder (which i might add is not disclosed), off their site you can't use the stay alive out of the box with your own decoder (unless of course you happen to have done some serious digging as above and then it relies on the tech support of the decoder company, if it can be done). this is the first time i've ever heard of a stay alive been specific to the chosen decoder of the maker.
  23. i'll take a wonder in at lunch time, signing up for the BID card does help. I was also told if your a club member they will price match as well, then use your BID card.

    Hornby Turbomotive

i think your last point is what separates him from other well know reviewers, no axe to grind.
  25. maybe, just maybe Hornby have drawn a line in the sand in regards popular stuff, HST, A4, class 66, Class 50, 08 etc. These are Hornby loco's hands off etc. I would assume Hornby thought more manufactures would jump in, the fact they have not has meant a clear run for Hornby, but they would not of known that when doing the research/development/product roadmap.
