So KMS & Trains4U are atm only doing one running number each for the DB variant which may change to more if the demand exists? Why don't you both sell one unnumbered instead of just one with a number and leave everyone to buy as much as they like so they can then apply their own running numbers post sale, or would that not work?...just spit balling.

As there are three threads on the 156 I would think this is the correct one to post on the new forthcoming 156. Anyway, I'm interested in getting the Northern 156 (with sound) but I'm confused by the advertising on the Realtrack & DC KIts websites for these new models due in 2021. Both 156411 (EMR) & 156412 (Greater Anglia) are not Northern liveried\operated going by Flickr photos thus assume Realtrack are still in the process of updating the websites with finalized liveries\details\running numbers? Also the Northern livery that is currently advertised, is that the only one Realtrack are doing or will there be others as well?...the Royal Airforce 156480 would be good if there are no licensing constraints and there is demand. Lastly, in regards to the pricing I see there are two sections so to speak with pre-order prices being cheaper than post-release prices correct?...i.e £380 for Pre-Order Sound Fitted as opposed to £420 for DCC Sound Fitted (Twin Decoder & Speakers) with being both being identical in regards to sound configuration (twin sound decoder/speaker setup).

Interesting that Hattons H4-66-027 66756 in GBRF Europorte livery "Royal Corps of Signals" is the only DCC Ready version that hasn't been reduced as part of their Festive Sale, still being sold @£150.

Yeah bit my 3rd Hattons 66 bullet, just purchased the last 66783 Biffa with sound and noticed these were selling out pretty quickly in the last week as it went from 7 remaining to 0 within a very short time...I do love the livery on this one.

Just a heads up everyone Hattons have greatly reduced their DCC Ready Class 66 prices on new models from £150 down to a starting price of £119...absolute bargain on these! In addition it appears their used prices have also been reduced further as well.

Just received your email and see you are also doing the 'Modern unbranded - Mid-grey body side and weathered chassis - (2014 till present)' which is great as I have the Hattons GBRf Class 66's (780 & 789) that run on these flows. Will you also be doing a livery render to show off the Modern Unbranded one as you've done with the other two?

Yes I can vouch for that, they are a sizeable online retailer/model shop who also sell on eBay and remember seeing these wagons on sale at the time on eBay and even I raised an eyebrow considering they were nowhere near release.

I was just giving anyone a heads up to be cautious that's all based on my own personal experience with a Bachmann loco. Edit: Spoke to Hattons & yes if you do want to purchase a Hattons 66 or any other product not directly from them, then make sure who you buy it from is an authorized seller otherwise you'll have to wear the risk if the product fails after purchase within its warranty period.

The issue perhaps is whether it is still covered by the Hattons warranty if purchased from somewhere else thus I would check that first before committing. I had that issue with a Bachmann Class 70 which I purchased from a seller on eBay brand new and because I didn't get it from a Bachmann authorized retailer the warranty was voided even though I was provided with the original purchase receipt from the seller showing the date of purchase...something just worth checking when buying model railway products off eBay if not sold by an authorized retailer.

Your own political beliefs don't need to come into it though because if we all did that it would be open season as everyone has a different opinion on who is to blame politically for price rises or why someone isn't getting paid enough and then the thread will end up getting locked. I'm just saying a discussion around prices will always come up and yes discuss the reasons why but keep political blame out of it which I'm sure can be done, I'm just seeing more snipes in these threads aimed political heads or parties and personally hate to see that creep into model railway discussions.

People will always talk about price especially at junctures where there is a considerable leap from what you pay today and what you pay tomorrow thus you can wrap the economics around that which is fine (I find everyone's opinions on that quite interesting) but please keep your political bias out of it because it has no place in a model railway thread or forum.

I would say a good trade off to cover yourselves financially is to present your new product intentions at a fully completed CAD Stage so it can be presented to the buying public on whatever forums of your choosing for feedback or review that way adjustments can be made before committing to tooling.

As you know its all about interpretation of what people say especially on forums such as this one and yes things can snowball or get out of hand whether rightly or wrongly because of interpretation, if we could all sit there at a club, exhibition or pub and discuss things even this topic it would have been understood, agreed or even debated in a heartbeat but yes we all suffer the curse of online discussion where we type what's in our head and pray it comes out as intended and because we all read things differently there are situations when it gets out of control causing angst & frustration where there should be none, this more than likely happens in every thread on RMWeb everyday. We would have all interpreted Gibbo675's post in a different way and I interpreted in a manner that he said he feels models are cheap for what we get and I just responded in disagreement with that and I stated why I disagreed thus it wasn't anything major but when he responded to say otherwise that is fine but to go on and accuse me of taking an extremely cheap shot by apparently misquoting well this to me was completely unwarranted because that was no way my intention but this bit seems to be lost on most people reading the exchanges and again it comes down to interpretation doesn't it? Yes I apologise to Gibbo675 or to anyone else if I had misquoted or misinterpreted the OP but like I said its down each individual interpretation and none of us are perfect and online forums are the proverbial minefield when it comes to discussions. I know it may not sound right but they could just purchase loco's from other manufacturers who have implemented rotating AB's (there is a recent one) and reverse engineer those ones to see how its done properly and re-design around the research.

Twist it all you like but he stated models are cheap in his eyes for what we get and I countered that with no they are not and highlighted why, look we can back & forth on every word and interpret or dissect them all we like but at the end of the day paying what we do for model locomotives is getting ridiculous (but strangely not from Accurascale, Hattons or Dapol) and I think everyone apart from Bachmann's owners Kader do not have exclusive ownership to factories or facilities (I may be be wrong so please correct me if required) thus you cannot lay the blame on that which Gibbo has alluded to in his post. Don't get me wrong I respect Gibbo's take on experience with manufacturing in his engineering capacity but it isn't within the model railway business and again for me he alluded to the fact that everyone are running their own factories or facilities causing massive overheads and accompanying price hikes which isn't the case thus you cannot lay the blame for these increases on that justification alone especially when you're talking about Gaugemaster/Heljan Class 86 or even the new Class 47 in the other thread being priced at @£229.95 DCC Ready. Instead of everyone being smart arses with emoji's & Latin references give me some proper counter and yes if we are still interpreting posts differently then we'll just agree to disagree as they say and move on.

I think 'Heaton Lodge Junction' would purchase several hundred of these in O gauge assuming they are aligned with his era & area of operation.

You think locomotive models are cheap?...far from cheap too be honest considering they are all full of tooling, livery, colour, manufacturing and QC issues so @£229.95 RRP DCC Ready Class 86 (incl. Heljan Class 47 by GC) it literally needs to be near perfect to sell at that price or even discounted from that price.

Yes correct and viewing the photo's from 2018 onwards WCRC 33025 does have one end tail lights plated over (non-fan end) & the other end tail lights are not plated over (fan end)...would be interesting to know if Heljan have replicated this?
