  1. Hoping to do an All Line Rover in the summer (‘hoping’ being the operative word) but all being well I’m planning to go along the Airedale line on one of the days, and would quite like to stop off at Saltaire Brewery. Just wondered if anyone had been in their tap room before, and if anyone knew how long a walk it was from Shipley station?
  2. The blue tits fledged on Monday, and I saw one of them make their first flight out of the nestbox. They have now moved out of our garden, but the excitement remains with Chris the wren (his surname could alternatively be Packham or Whitty ) and his good lady, who have a nest in the large tree to the right of our garden. Last night, while we were preoccupied with a virtual pub quiz, Chris made his way into our conservatory to have a look round and probably scour for insects. Trouble is that he left us a little present...
  3. A shepherd once told me that it takes five sheep to make a jumper. I didn’t even know they could knit!
  4. Pure Gold tonight - it’s been customary for me to have a Purity beer on Wednesday nights as that’s the night of their Pure Pub Quiz.
  5. I hadn’t seen Mr Bullfinch for a few years, but all of a sudden he made a reappearance yesterday morning. He might be scouting feeding locations. Our blue tits are also extremely busy - last night they were still active at 20:30!
  6. Not the best of photos but one of our nestbox guests was helping themselves to breakfast of some peanuts, and then a bullfinch turned up.
  7. Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say so. Certainly this lockdown is making me contemplate other layout ideas, such as one based on Chris Nevard’s ‘Brew Street’. It wouldn’t take forever to build and it would also fulfil my ambition of having an exhibition layout.
  8. I would just like to say that I am honoured to be showing my work alongside that of so many talented modellers. D1007 'Western Talisman' accelerates under the bridge and around the curve.
  9. So here's a few photos of my roundy roundy. I'll have to upload them in a couple of posts. An LMS 'Royal Scot' and GWR '8750' simmer on shed. A class 20 prepares to depart the goods siding with a short goods train. The P-Way gang take a quick break and speculate whether this EWS hopper will ever be operational again.
  10. Thanks Andy, I’ll be out with my camera getting a few shots. Has anyone agreed to not rustle up some bacon sandwiches and tea for the exhibitors?
  11. Had we been convening in ‘real life’, we could have introduced this as a forfeit for the losing team... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5389747/amp/Do-want-shot-splitting-moment-tip.html
  12. Just a thought, for those members so privileged to live within the realms of SWAG, will they be entered into the group with the initiation ceremony?
  13. For me, having been through it countless times on my way to Dorset, Bath marks the border between decent roads and not-exactly-decent roads. The equivalent of walking across the upstairs landing and then going down the stairs in a bumpy manner.
  14. Of course! Both Black Sheep and Golden Sheep are ales I very much enjoy.
  15. Afraid not, I usually stick to bitters, golden ales and craft lagers. But I might get some pork pies and crisps to virtually share.
  16. The strongest cider I’ve ever had was Cider House Special by Special Cider Company, near Bridgnorth. 7.3%, but the apples that went into it weren’t picked by monks. Off to Morrisons later, does anyone have any recommendations on stuff to get for not preparing for the exhibition?
  17. Never visited there before. What’s it like?
  18. 1. The new Dapol Manors. 2. You don’t - you ask RMwebbers to form an orderly queue and the chap sat on the lorry hands each Manor out one at a time.
