Nice ferns! ...i robbed some out of 'Her' tropical fish tank when she was out last week.. Excellent modeling Steve' -
I loved Peter Brayham an unsung T.V. hero who worked on so many of my favourate TV series from the '60's & '70's, so it was such a treat for me to meet him on the set of 'Life On Mars' where he was a stunt advisor. My other favourate stunt man was another '60's un-sung stunt hero Frank Maher.

Really enjoyed looking through all these this morning Iian many thanks for sharing, i love the Merehead open day pics' from '89 as i was there visiting with my then Girlfriend and now wife, we had many a return holiday in the area during the 1990's and often made a quick visit to Westbury station to do a bit of spotting. We would always stay & camp at Woodlands Park, Nr. Westbury for a few nights. -
Love the 'Groovy' music man! The clip jogged my memory of when i worked a lot around the Crumpsall area of Manchester in the late '70's & early '80's and we would often see, have a brew and a Kit-Kat and a chat to the actor Joe Gladwin, the actor who played Wally Batty in 'Last of the Summer Wine' He had a lovely mint Aztec Gold coloured Humber Sceptre on his driveway just like the one in the film, and he was always washing and polishing it, it truly was his pride and joy......an 'H' reg' from memory...with loads of lovely chrome and a dark Brown vinyl roof.

Owd Bob replied to ozamrr's topic in Garden Railway Construction
Nice to see you cracking on Tony and progressing well despite the cold, i think 16 degrees is considered quite warm for us, its hot up here at the mo'.. and for once! it's 30 plus degrees and the moorland above Manchester is on fire...i'm 20 plus miles away and the air stinks. Keep wrapped up well and keep up with the great progress. -

Its not the impression i've got up to now, do's he not post or come on here himself? He could and should at least take all credit for his brilliant modeling....so a much deserved and belated well done Craig from an obviously ignorant me.

We see a few Marinas running around locally and all used as daily users, because the Marina owners club guy Harry Hayes lives local to us. This Lime-flower Green Marina was bought for £90 for the TV series 'Life On Mars' apart from a fist sized hole in the boot floor it was a very solid original car, it was sold off for just £300 after the filming finished. Hope its still around and in good hands? Chucked the mini pic' in as well, another Lime-flower Green.

I agree the Anglia was an early looking and bog standard one, i could'nt tell you all much about most of the vehicles in these pics' i posted as most vehicle owners don't give out info' as much as they used to, some few still do thankfully 'cos i don't know every make i see.

I once got done in the late '70's for an obscure number plate on a Escort mk1 van...(wish i had it now) it was the rear one and the ball of its tow bar just came up and over the centre of the plate...i argued that it was in the space in the middle between the letters and numbers and not hiding anything but the rozzer was'nt having it and said little and handed me a ticket....i got a £25 fine More from Lymm. I think the wheels on this Grandad could be better looking even if they are original!

I've had an offer of doing a mag' article but i can't be bothered at the mo'....i hope i've made a real contribution to the outdoor hobby and gave folks a few good cheap ideas etc in the few years i've being doing it...i've just no interest in a lot of things at the mo' Mike...i need a long break! i'm keeping the Red (Katie based)saddle tank to take to local group meetings, but the rest can go as far as i'm concerned.

Springsbury Croft.'O' gauge 1977-'87 era depot.
Owd Bob replied to Owd Bob's topic in Boxfiles, Micro layouts & Dioramas
Tried a bit of moss effect by sticking some scatter stuff on the stone effect walling and some water running leaking through the mortar. it's OK up to now but needs a lot more detailing yet...some ferns would be nice and long grasses. -

Was a class 58 a rare sight at Knottingly depot? i only visited that depot three times when working in the area and it was always full of 56's, the last time i went it had an 09 shunter!
