I don't know if it was ever signed (It's dated a month before the outbreak of WW2) but they were obviously ready - http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/documents/LNER_GEElectrificationContract1939.pdf
From what I understand (and I could be wrong - frequently am!) they looked at the available technology for electric traction and it wouldn't have been sufficient for what the N7s were capable of and the required service. Then when it WAS capable they started the process but WW2 got in the way.
Not railway related, but Freight is referred to in the Marine Insurance Act 1906, which is still UK law so as a term it was around then, and presumably earlier.
After I posted that I realised I was talking manure and checked my pics from late last year. You got the quote in before the edit!
69621 is an awesome loco - it's such a shame it's not currently running. However - It's not popular as I understand it with those that used to drive and fire N7s in BR times as it's right hand drive and short travel valves.
Page 26 of Yeadons show 2600 (so an N7/3 LTV - round top boiler from new) in lined photographic grey. I haven't found any subsequent pictures to see if it retained the lining when painted black.
I've got a bit of info on GE Section Gresley 52'6" vestibuled stock. It needs confirmation by someone more in the know than me but I think I have a bit more than in the latest sheet? It's a work in progress as well so some missing info.
Wow that's pretty useful! Just need someone to do it for GER (no I'm not volunteering lol!). There is a PDF for 4mm modellers but like anything of the nature is somewhat out of date now.
I've got a couple of Peter K coach etches that I bought recently (it's how I know of Mr Rixon's products as I originally got them for those). Although if you do go for some double check what comes with them as mine said come with floors but didn't.
Ah brilliant thank you - I looked at the fittings set - didn't think to look at the buffers on their own! https://www.shapeways.com/product/8DZ6QHBP7/ger-6w-coach-fittings-set-a?optionId=64070109
Thanks That "sounds" a bit small but I have no idea - on GER bogies the drawings I have if accurate measure at about 16" - and this is 13.5". Photos of GER 4 wheelers with their original underframes seem to be rare - but coupled to bogies the buffer heads seem similar sized.
