  1. I got my parcel Packaging was atrocious but no damage.
  2. The GERS site does mention changes to the beading etc. over the various types - I assume you've already trawled through there?
  3. But still not Genuine Ford (or whichever vehicle brand). That's the point.
  4. Sorry I should have followed up - the eventually did get back to me, and declared my parcel lost, a new one was despatched (and as it happens is due this morning). I wished them well for the future (as I do yourself).
  5. But that doesn't make it a genuine Ford part. That's my point - ebay sellers love putting the keyword "genuine" in their listings to falsely draw attention to them.
  6. Yes, but to Ford's specification and quality control system. Very different from some aftermarket part.
  7. Thanks both - interesting link. Predominantly I'll be using Gibson and Markits wheels (preference is for Markits but they don't make it easy to get them!) - so according to that link, 14.6mm and 14.5mm respectively. Thanks again edit : missed the 0.5 off Markits...
  8. What's the recommended back to back dimension for these? 14.5 or 14.8mm? thanks
  9. Maybe this is why I can see other IP ranges - I haven't used an ISP supplied router in 10+ years. Currently use a Draytek.
  10. Yes but if they're on the same mask then they are visible to other ranges with the IP scanner so finding the device is possible.
  11. Worldpay does cooper crafts payments and they don't appear to give a fig.
  12. Obviously I don't know how much more the winning bidder had put up to, but I was rather close to winning the Number 1 certificate Class 15 when it was on ebay for the preservation society. I don't think that would have run on Hornby tinplate!
  13. Hi Tom, a quick question on you Silver Jubilee rake if you don't mind? When you were looking into buying the kit, what was the decision process over the RDEB one vs MARC Models which I think is the only other available one - I see it's double the cost but does it come with more "kit" do you know? Thinking long term about building a set... Thanks
  14. There's a car parts place based in Kent that has maybe 4 selling accounts and they all have mark items for sale as genuine. Genuine is a keyword for genuine manufacturer parts eg. genuine ford. But they use it as genuine spark plug (as opposed to a fake spark plug?!) so everything is "genuine" for a ford. Reported it for keyword spamming so many times but ebay don't care it would seem.
  15. Absolutely agree. One of the pioneers should have been saved - although we are lucky that 6 were considering the number of other big 4 company survivors. I know Tom is making a great job of of the model - very much an inspiration.
  16. Any use? Going by the recessed front coupling it's when the loco was new?
  17. I only saw one subnet mask mentioned - 255.255.255.0? I will point out I'm not an expert but at work we have different IP ranges for each office but as they're all on the same subnet accessibility isn't restricted.
  18. Glad you're sorted I find when hunting down "rogue" devices this program is useful: http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/index4.php It can also connect you to built in web pages in many cases and also can give clues as to the device manufacturer (It might tell you who made the network part rather than the whole device).
  19. Sandwich is my favourite - I also like the name so it's on the list for the one I'm building, although that Sceptre picture has caught my interest...
  20. It's about half a mile if I were a crow from my desk to that mini-viaduct. I do miss the 309s - was a very enjoyable day on the Clacton Sunset tour. Now THEY were comfortable units.
  21. Ironing board seats seems to be the phrase of choice.
  22. FS does look it's finest in this guise - absolutely stunning. As good as a Silver or Garter Blue A4? I would say no, but that's me
  23. Not gonna lie - I'm a LONG way from scratch building anything - but doesn't mean I'm not interested and impressed
  24. You're absolutely right of course - I think the phrase some companies use is something like "we have a policy of continuous improvement". Whilst sometimes I wish I was born enough years earlier to have seen mainline steam, it does give me the (in my rather stretched opinion) advantage of not having a steam era I have memories of to help decide when to model. So I've chosen c1938/9 so I can have teaks in teak, bright green and lined black. Whilst I am modelling the Liverpool St line I'm still looking to have an A1 (Gresley) and at least one A4 under rule 1...
  25. I do like the deltics. And I love the A4s (with valance). And I like the A3 - without deflectors. I think they look horrific with them
