  1. Brilliant! Just what we want to see these days. I once joked that Tornado’s last 100mph run failure was because the Mallard sabotaged the run to keep it’s 124 mph record intact
  2. I noticed how people sign their replies to topics and blogs with a name.

I think I’ll do that too.

Andy P once referred to me as ‘PT14’ which I quite like the sound of.

  3. This layout is truly inspiring! Great work!
  4. I once dreamed of a steam locomotive coming to rescue a downed electric train, thus proving the importance of steam. Well, our good friend 60163 ‘Tornado’ has done just that. Taking time from her own schedule to push the Class 90 to Doncaster: https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2019/09/steam-locomotive-60163-tornado-comes-to-the-rescue-in-doncaster.html What would we do without our modern-built steam? (If there are any photos of this, could you please show them? I’d like to model this rare event! )
  5. I hope your ticker is going good! I had to have surgery on mine at the start of the year, missing out on precious modelling time . It’s best to keep an eye on such a vital piece of the body. Also, those photos of the freighter and the pendolino are great. My closest train spotting spot is the old Stapleford and Sandiacre station bridge overlooking the track up to Toton yard but nothing really ever comes through these days...
  6. XD is an old style emote like : ) but as a laughing face. I haven’t figured out RMweb’s shortcut for it yet
  7. It would be sad if you had to sell on your locos or put them in a box for a while. They’re masterpieces and are to be observed to inspire other modellers. Good luck with your house move, when the time comes for that
  8. Owning a model of any of Bulleid’s locos has been a dream of mine for quite some time, So fat I’ve only got a wheel. XD
  9. That green 40 is certainly a beauty. Wonderful shot on the un-rebuilt spamcan in the middle too!
  10. On the latest photos of the class 37s, it looks like they’re taking electricity off of the power lines. Actually it’s a power line support behind them creating the illusion.
  11. That Peak with the missing nose I quite like, mainly because there was a Peak at the GCR(N) just like it during its restoration. It was also the first Peak I ever saw. However I also like all of the rolling stock because they look very brilliant and challenging. I often look at the pictures of them for inspiration for my 4F.
  12. The original motor wasn’t working (actually it was smoking) so I removed it in hope that I could build a new one.
  13. 8F 48073 simmering away after long run hauling freight, waiting to be moved into the sheds for the night.
  14. 2-6-4T Standard 4 80002 stands in the yard waiting to be called up for a passenger service
  15. 92214 Leicester City at Quorn and Woodhouse on the 13th July.
  16. One day a 7mm 47 will sit upon the Riverside Works...

  17. Some more steam, this time of coming from an unfinished Manor locomotive storming over the Dawlish sea wall.
