  1. The photo of the Regional Railways 37 I thought was a photo at first. It took my head ages to realise that it was a model. great detailing
  2. Wow, this tank looks awesome! ive got one too but it’s just green.
  3. How does one make a gallery?

  4. As in a lot of my blogs, this project is one of many that might not get done until later but I thought I’d share it with others: I’ve already seen some models of locos in BR corporate blue and, since being a writer of alternate histories, I thought it would be fun to join in. The Riddles 9F is the main loco I’ve seen in this version of blue and it looks good on it. Considering how young they were when they got scrapped, I often wonder what it would’ve been like if BR kept them for the 70s instead of wasting perfectly good and basically brand new locos. This little project will probably not happen any time soon but I just wanted to write it down before i forget I’ve already began photoshopping a 9F and a 3F Jinty into the BR blue livery. (Both photos are works in progress. I used an 08 as a colour pallet)
  5. I still marvel at your collection of locos because they are quite amazing. One day I’ll get the space to bring my grandfathers old collection up and I’ll have a pretty cool collection too My grandfather also has an Ivatt tank. I believe he once told me they were called ‘Mickey Mouse’? I can’t remember but I’m sure that’s what he said great photography too!
  6. Look at all their faces must’ve come as a shock to see a bat flying straight at them
  7. That video of the micro layouts has certainly got me inspired to attempt my own. good stuff, as always
  8. I’ve gone straight into 7mm, however with a scenic board size of 4ft (which was probably not such a good idea considering I have no modelling experience) Because of my budget I’ve gone for a preserved scene so I can get all sorts of stock without region or era restrictions. 7mm is good for modelling smaller areas like a shunter’s yard and therefore you can cram more detail into the smaller things than you can with 4mm. You only need a small track plan for a great 7mm layout.
  9. Looking great The colour scheme works very well on that battlesuit! I still think that even though the Imperium expects Chaos or Tyranids to take over the galaxy, it’s the Tau who will. one planet at a time.
  10. I am quite happy the outcome of this latest progression. The wooden frame stands very well and now it is ready to add the second part in the building’s structure; the wooden back boards. The back boards are what covers the back of the wooden frame, where the plasticard building walls will cover the front. The angle of photography is perfect too, enabling me to take pictures of larger locomotives and stock (not like I have any ). here are some photos of my 16 ton mineral wagon. I’ve put up some card to simulate the building’s walls as I ready the plasticard. (I’ll get my E4 out of its box soon and take some picture of that too )
  11. If any layout builders could help me with this: I'm trying to figure out the correct clearance for the shed door. Currently there are three different spacings which I found to look right. All prototype photos I’ve found differ and since I have no architectural experience these are the three I’ve gone with. also this is a visual update on the structure, on which I’ve put card sheets to give the shape of the building better.
  12. If only I had a bucket of money and space, I’d grab those shunters before they rot away forever. Being abandoned in a bush or stuck in a scrapper’s is no place for a trusty shunter. Also, that is a great photo. It’s a great prototype for my diorama too.
  13. Progression! the wooden frame is now up....mostly. It needs work but now it’s starting to look right. as soon as I get some plasticard I’ll start putting together the building shell. It should start looking like the Calke Abbey stables soon.
  14. Progress on the diorama has basically halted for a while. I hope to get it somewhat finished before the end of this year, however.
  15. Awesome stuff! I bet they could win any war easy! I’ve just noticed the different colour tones on their boilers and cabs/tenders. Is this the same as the original livery? It seems strange.
  16. The model is so spectacular I wouldn’t notice the missing paint on the pipe. I’d say keep them, but it’s your choice.
  17. I don’t have this as a photo but when I was on the bus to town the bus stopped near a building. A door on this building said “gas inlet” with large, capital lettered words under that saying “NO SMOKING”. However next to the door were several people smoking. A fire hazard to say the least!
  18. I always found that the BR black livery suites the 08. (It also makes them spooky great photo, as always
  19. The 0-4-0 Electro-Shunter is nearing completion...

it’s too small to carry its own power, so a coach has been made to carry the Remote Control receiver and battery box.
